Avatar n tn i read on a medical web page not long after finding out that i myself have a hemmhoragic cyst on my left ovary that fertility drugs can help to cause ovarian cysts because most ovarian cysts are caused by the eggs not making it all the way out of the ovary or something of that sort and they just kind of pile up inside of the ovary and form a cyst. however, i did read that most ovarian cysts go away sometime during ovulation.
Avatar f tn Hi, Just browsing the internet and figured I'd put myself out there... I had my first ovarian cyst at 18 or 19 years old and I'm now 22, almost 23 and have had multiples ovarian cysts since then. Just a week ago, I had a 9cm. cyst removed. This is taking such an emotional toll on me. I'm afraid this will affect my fertility and health. Also, OTC pain medications do not help at all unfortunately.
Avatar f tn They can form anywhere in the body. Ovarian cysts (sists) form in or on the ovaries. The most common type of ovarian cyst is a functional cyst. Functional cysts often form during the menstrual cycle. The two types are: Follicle cysts. These cysts form when the sac doesn't break open to release the egg. Then the sac keeps growing. This type of cyst most often goes away in 1 to 3 months. Corpus luteum cysts. These cysts form if the sac doesn't dissolve.
Avatar f tn yes ive got cysts back on both ovaries, been free of contraceptives for 6 months now but still,no sign of a period.
Avatar n tn Does it happen every month? Every woman gets ovarian cysts. Most don't even know. Normally filled with liquid. They pop, and get obsorbed into the body. Some do feel the pain. But there are some that can be a real problem. I would go discuss it with my OB/GYN. Let us know what happens!
Avatar m tn As the other poster said, larger ovarian cysts can cause urinary urgency. So can large uterine fibroids. Most cysts go away on their own within 2 or 3 cycles so I would not worry much unless your symptoms worsen especially if you start having pain which could be a sign of the cyst rupturing, leaking, or twisting the ovary. Since most cysts resolve on there own, there should not be any impact on fertility.
Avatar n tn As far as I know I have never had an ovarian cyst until I started taking fertility drugs. My first ovulation induction/iui on clomid was unsuccessful. I had 5 follicles all good sizes but no pregnancy and produced one cyst. My the doctor would not let me start another cycle until the cyst went away. My second cycle on gonal f/iui was unsuccessful. I had 8 follicles, no pregnancy and now I have three cysts and have to lose another month or two waiting for them to go away.
Avatar f tn HI, During cyst removal only the cystic part is removed and the normal ovarian tissue is preserved. Hence this should not affect your fertility in any way. Consult a gynaecologist for follow up. Hope this helps. Take care and good luck.
Avatar n tn Some cysts affect fertility, but once the cysts are dealt with, becoming pregnancy should become a smaller problem.
1798025 tn?1333814468 It has been observed that women who use OC pills have fewer chances of ovarian cysts so birth control pills may be effective in decreasing the size of these cysts. Painful cysts or very large cysts are removed surgically.Endometriomas and PCOD are associated with decreased fertility. It is best to clarify your doubts with your gynecologist. Hope it helps. Take care and regards!
1259649 tn?1336414032 Many times ovarian cysts go away on their own. If it doesn't go away or if there's several cysts, the treatment is laproscopic surgery to remove the cyst(s). Check back with your doctor in a couple of months to retest. If it hasn't resolved itself, make an appt. for the treatment.
Avatar f tn I took a drug called metformin to counter the syndrome and it helped a lot. Also with fertility drugs we got pregnant. Honestly with ttc it was all God, we prayed for so long and eventually we realized it was up to him when we would have a child no matter what we did, and he has blessed is I'm at 37 weeks! Good luck!
Avatar n tn I think possibliy you mean ovarian cysts instead of ovarian fibriods as fibriods are assoicated with the Uterus and ovarian cysts are associated with the ovaries.
Avatar f tn Hello Sorry to hear about the cyst it does sound like your CA 125 is slightly elevated but that is also due to the ovarian cyst. I had an ovarian cyst about a month ago and they placed me on birth control pills which i would not consider due to it messing up your cycle but also the cyst can sometimes goes away by itseld after you usually get your period but that all do determined the size. But as for the elevated results i would agree with OzBron about the endometriosis.
473222 tn?1214439873 I would go 6 months and not get a period because my ovaries were completely incapsulated with cysts so I would not ovulate. It took fertility drugs to make me ovulate. I lost both of my ovaries due to this disease and after all of that I had to have a hysterectomy two years ago. these cysts go to both ovaries. I started with them on my left ovary and after 5 years of pain had that one removed.
Avatar n tn I've had a few ovarian cysts in the past 7 years. I was just wondering if they can affect my chances of getting pregnant?
Avatar f tn I had 5 lg ovarian cysts that my dr. (OBGYN fertility) wanted to surgically remove from my uterus. I had a friend tell me about CASTER OIL as a remedy for naturally removing the cysts by using "cold pressed caster oil compresses". I tried this and it worked !!!- it actually removed all 5 of my cysts!! Now my doctor is upset with me. Saying it's not safe. Really and surgery is?? People have use caster oil since Before Christ. Why is this not safe?
Avatar f tn I have had an ultrasound and MRI that indicate an ovarian cyst (6cm, 4cm) in my left ovary. OB/GYN suggests oopherectomy and testing cysts during thsi surgery to determine if more would need to be done. MRI shows septations and Ultrasound mentioned something about possibly internal papillary projections. MRI offers no definitive answer...just possibility cyst could be a hemmoragic cyst, an endometrioma, or cystic neoplasm.
Avatar n tn Hello, Fertility is restored few days after taking out the Nuva ring. Hopefully you should fall pregnant. But some cysts like functional cysts, cystadenomas and dermoid cysts can cause infertility when they are very large. If you have any problem in conception you can talk to your doctor and get fertility drugs like Clomid prescribed. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
1016941 tn?1292444386 Ovarian cysts usually go away on their own, however, ovarian cysts can persist and get worse. If too many cysts cover the ovaries, eggs to fail to develop or be released. If this is the case for you, you'll need laparoscopic surgery to remove the cyst(s). Do you notice any other symptoms during your cycle? There could be one of a number of fertility challenges.

1448645 tn?1370067496 Fertility meds can most certainly cause delays in AF. After my first round it was almost a month late. Ovarian cysts can cause a delay also and there could be a good possibility after stim drugs. Best of luck to you!
Avatar f tn Thanks for telling me about your similar experience. I have not taken any fertility drugs yet, as I am still waiting for the doctor to actually perscribe me medicine to help control my PCOS symptoms. I have an ultra sound this coming week, and once those results are in I will be able to get started on medication. I just have that fear in the back of my head that I will not be able to conceive again... Best of luck to you. I'll keep you posted on my progress.
