Avatar f tn I had 5 lg ovarian cysts that my dr. (OBGYN fertility) wanted to surgically remove from my uterus. I had a friend tell me about CASTER OIL as a remedy for naturally removing the cysts by using "cold pressed caster oil compresses". I tried this and it worked !!!- it actually removed all 5 of my cysts!! Now my doctor is upset with me. Saying it's not safe. Really and surgery is?? People have use caster oil since Before Christ. Why is this not safe?
Avatar f tn Hi, I have ovarian cysts and I totally understand what you are going through. I have the diarrhea thing and it is disgusting. Sorry for being so directly honest. But I am in agony for several days during my period. My symptoms are upset stomach, bloating (feel like air is trapped in my stomach) pelvic pain, and nausea.. The nausea is so bad, especially when I am doing the diarrhea. Sometimes it looks like popcorn floating in the toilet....
Avatar n tn If you are 40-50, then perimenopause is a possible cause. But, ovarian cysts at any age can change your hormones and cause these types of symptoms. Unfortunately, no two ovarian cysts show themselves in the same way. So, it is hard to say without having tests to rule out all other causes. In general the list of symptoms you describe sound like they could be related to menopause. But, if you are under 45, then that is less likely.
Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts can cause bladder and bowel problems. In my case it was due to the size of the ovarian cyst and the pressure it was placing on other organs. In my daughter's case, the abdominal pain with the ovarian cyst was severe and caused nausea. By the time we discovered that an ovarian cyst was causing the pain, she had become constipated, which added to her irregularity and discomfort. Like MarieMichele, before my ovarian cyst was removed, I had to eat very small amounts.
Avatar f tn Do ovarian cyst symptoms and ovarian cancer symptoms look the same? I ask because I have the following: -gas -bloat/distended stomach -pressure -changes in BM's (constipation and diarrhea) -get full easily after eating -tired/fatigues -heartburn/indigestion -changes in menstruation Thank you.
Avatar f tn suggested you do ? Ovarian Cysts and ovarian cancer can cause many similar symptoms. There is absolutely no way to tell for certain unless and until surgery is performed and the path results come back. Having said that, cysts are very very common and 95% benign. The best course of action is to speak with your physician to see what his recommended course of action is. They may possibly suggest removal, but sometimes, they prefer to wait awhile to see if they resolve themselves.
Avatar n tn I had a CT with contrast and the doctor asked me if I ever had ovarian cysts, I said no. He was not candid with me about the results and I didn't get to view them. I had a trans-vaginal ultrasound and the tech was very quiet. She did not tell me anything but the doctor discharged me with a burst ovarian cyst, but he said I had free fluid in my abdomen and around my right ovary. I had IV protonix and zophran and a GI cocktail (which helped the pain).
20867532 tn?1553716067 Ultrasound is considered pretty reliable for ovarian cysts and does not subject you to radiation as CT scans do. Ovarian cysts are common and usually resolve on their own. I don't think diarrhea is a typical symptom associated with them. Let us know what more you find out. Hope you get answers soon.
Avatar n tn I've had odd BM's for months. Could this be related to my ovarian cysts? I've already had my right ovary and felopian tube removed (uterus and cervix too). Only thing left is left ovary and tube and it now has complex cyst. Having f/u us end of this month. I have lots of back pain, mostly when laying directly on my back (lower), and almost daily "crampy feelings" - mostly mild, just occasionaly sharp.
Avatar n tn I am on 2 birthcontrol pills to manage endometriosis and ovarian cysts. I went to my obgyn for a visit and mentioned it she ordered a ultrasound for gallstones since it's a side effect of the pill. It came out negative. Now pretty much everytime I eat I'm getting nauseous. Not diarrhea or computing everytime but really sick to my stomach. Now tonight I ate just some vegetables for dinner and 1 slice of baked chicken. Got instantly sick. With the diarrhea not vomiting.
Avatar f tn Also, I have a family history of woman having ovarian cysts that had to be removed I do not know the details though.
1550253 tn?1359048669 I've always had menstrual issues...it comes with the territory of having PCOS and hypothyroidism. But I am on birth control to regulate my periods...but even then, my periods are still a bit wacky, it seems. Like, right now...I was supposed to have my period this week...but it hasn't shown up yet at all and I'm starting my new pack today. But that happens often...where my period won't show up until a couple days into the new pack.
Avatar f tn Is it possible to have a elevated CA-125 and it be hemorragic ovarian cysts? This week what started as I thought a stomach bug has turned into surgery to remove cysts and possibly my ovary(ies). I'm 36 yrs. old and at the beginning of the week I woke early in the morning with upset stomach and a little diarrhea. Then I had a little pain over in my right lower quad and small bm. By the middle of the week I had doubled over with pain in myat I can describe as contraction like pain.
Avatar m tn I have a history of ovarian cysts, one was removed about 9 years ago and was found to be precancerous and the last one I had removed November 2014 because it was 13cm. I had it removed by an oncologist, it was found to be a normal cyst and they also found multiple small cysts on both tubes. I had another cyst after surgery but it eventually went away on its own. I am on ortho tricycles birth control to help prevent cysts and still have both ovaries.
906877 tn?1335122417 I am due to have cysts removed on tues next week, i read alot of people on here talk about IBS type symptoms being linked with this, is this right?? Can ovarian cysts cause stomach aches etc because if they do then it would explain alot!!!!!! Many thanks, Claire.
256161 tn?1196879046 I know lyme causes all kinds of different cysts. I'm not sure about the ovarian cysts though as they are quite common in women in general. Flagyl is a cyst buster so if you have lyme you may feel the herx reaction.
Avatar n tn Ultrasound is showing clear cysts, no mass, 2 cysts on each ovary, this is the the first time I have missed my mentrual cycle. Some pain on my lower right side, back. I am advised now to see a dr. for my bowels... my symtons do not include fever, vomiting, diarrhea. I have constant tenderness in my ovary and naval area, a dull pinching sensation, constant dull ache, and feel full quickly when I eat...
Avatar f tn Hello- I've had my fair share of ovarian cysts. The simple one's always went away. However, once the ultrasound showed complex cysts, my GYN decided to operate (I had a few ranging from 3-5cm) I was always told that complex cysts will not go away. They will stay the same, or grow-- but never shrink or burst. Quite honestly, I would get a second opinion. I just believe there's no sense in being in pain from a cyst that is not going to go away. And- as a side note...
2129701 tn?1335494396 The name "polycystic ovarian syndrome" sems to be somewhat misunderstood. The "polycystic" aspect refers to the multiple ("poly") mini-cyst-like feature of the outer ovary, which, due to this defacto thickening of the tissue, can prevent an ovum from erupting from the ovary. I have had PCOS my whole life, but have never had a singular cyst on one of my ovaries, of the sort that is large enough to be palpated, or cause pain.
3100626 tn?1341387176 A related discussion, <a href="/posts/Ovarian-Cysts/ovarian-fibriods-and-unable-to-take-any-meds/show/1812473">ovarian fibriods and unable to take any meds</a> was started.
Avatar f tn I was looking around at the IBS forum when I came across your post. I know it sounds alarming, but have you considered a CA-125 test for ovarian cancer? Ovarian cancer is known as the silent killer because the symptoms are not obvious till the cancer is advanced. And a lot of your symptoms sound a lot like ovarian cancer (but I am praying for a simple reason like IBS). My mum had ovarian cancer and she had similar symptoms described by you.
Avatar n tn I just found out today that I have ovarian cysts on both ovaries and that my right ovary has a complex cyst. My family doctor had ordered a CT of my abdomen last night looking for appendicitis. This is how they found the complex cyst. My family doctor then ordered an ultrasound today that confirmed the complex cyst and then found the others. I got a call back an hour ago from the family doctor telling me the radiologist said we should take a wait and see approach to these cysts.
Avatar f tn HI, Even though you may not want any more children, you are too young for a hysterectomy. The bleeding can be stopped with help of haemostatic medicines and with use of hormones like progestins. Also a D&C may sometimes be necessary to stop the bleeding. The ovarian cysts need further evaluation regarding their size and nature. Many of the cysts in young women respond to birth control pills or regress spontaneously. Hence it would be best to consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation.
Avatar f tn First off 98% of all ovarian cysts are benign. Most women with Ovarian Cancer, not all, are genetically predisposed with the BRCA mutation. I have BRCA. I had a grandmother and a aunt with ovarian cancer in their 50's. Ovarian cysts look a certain way on a ultrasound. At your age with no BRCA you have less than 1% of ovarian cancer. What is your doctor telling you? They saw my ultra sound and I was at the oncologist the next day. Many cysts go away on their own. Are you having symptoms.
Avatar f tn This pain can be because of pelvic infection, ovarian cysts, endometriosis etc. I would suggest that you consult a gynaecologist for an examination. Hope this helps.
