Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts can cause bladder and bowel problems. In my case it was due to the size of the ovarian cyst and the pressure it was placing on other organs. In my daughter's case, the abdominal pain with the ovarian cyst was severe and caused nausea. By the time we discovered that an ovarian cyst was causing the pain, she had become constipated, which added to her irregularity and discomfort. Like MarieMichele, before my ovarian cyst was removed, I had to eat very small amounts.

Avatar n tn I agree with Cindy that it is very unlikely to be Ovarian Cancer. However, young girls do get cysts. Actually cysts are very very common in young premenopausal women and 95 % benign. You may want to check the top right of this page; "Health Pages" . It has a lot of information about cysts . Of course we don't know if she even has cysts. And.. we're not Drs. here.. She really needs to be seen my by a Gyn. It could be one of many things.
256161 tn?1196879046 I know lyme causes all kinds of different cysts. I'm not sure about the ovarian cysts though as they are quite common in women in general. Flagyl is a cyst buster so if you have lyme you may feel the herx reaction.
Avatar m tn Once in a while, it seems during ovulation, or a week before my period I start to feel nausea. This has decreased some, since I have been trying to do gluten free and dairy free. I had blood tests run for numerous things, and the Gyn also ran some tests to see if possible Ovarian cancer. All the tests came back fine. They think that it may be perimenopausal? does this sound possible. I am 39.
579959 tn?1218310678 Yes, your cyst definitely causes those symptoms. Remember that over 95% of all cysts are benign. There is some good information on cysts on the health pages attached to this page (top right). It is possible that MedHelp will move your posting to the Ovarian Cyst forum but that is a good thing as all of us there have had a lot of experience with cysts whereas not everyone with Ovarian Cancer has.
1041259 tn?1253077416 t think it would be a waste of money to get this checked by someone that has a stronger expertise on ovarian cysts. It will either resolve itself on its own, remain unchanged, or grow and get worse. You need to figure out which of these possibilities is occurring and catch any potential for the "worse" very early for the best outcome.
Avatar f tn .Hi I'm 32 and was diganosed with ovarian cysts years ago, my problem is I've been really sick for @ 2 yrs and recently went to ER because I was so sick I couldn't move, that's where they found a 5-6 cm cysts growing. I switched Dr. last year because it just seemed that she wanted to put me on pills that didn't produce periods. I havn't had a period in 2 yrs and my symptoms are horrible.
Avatar n tn Polycystis Ovarian Syndrome was named for the appearance of the ovaries (which often are bumpy looking with lots of cysts on them), but it is certainly not the only symptom. It is important to understand that just because a woman have ovarian cysts doesn't mean she has PCOS. Blood work can help to diagnose PCOS. The cysts that appear with PCOS are a result of egg follicles not fully maturing or being released.
Avatar f tn It is possible to feel extremely unwell while having an ovarian cyst. What causes breast cancer or ovarian cancer or benign cysts--and whether there are connections between illnesses--not sure if even the best experts know the answers yet. But I am suspicious of what hormones can do to our wellbeing, especially when in the wrong quantities. Mostly it seems to be a case of the doctor ordering mammograms at the same time you were being monitored for ovarian cysts...then the routine followup.
Avatar f tn Hello, Your abdominal symptoms of constipation and rectal bleeding are related to each other but are unrelated to ovarian cysts. A complex ovarian cyst is less common than simple ovarian cyst. At such a young age it can eb dermoid cyst which is a type of complex ovarian cyst and is the most common type and develops during the childbearing age. Complex ovarian cysts are generally benign. The risk of malignancy is generally higher among postmenopausal women.
1175033 tn?1492201228 I have never been actually diagnosed with ovarian cysts but I positive I get them. I havnt had insurance for quite a while now so I havnt seen a obgyn. So almost every month, half way through my cycle (right now) I get a sharp pain in my lower pelvic region. It radiates down into my rectom and sitting causes pain, standing cuases pain, and I cant walk enless I dont stand up straight.
Avatar f tn Do ovarian cysts cause extreme fatigue? I have for cysts. One of them is a complex cyst measuring 4cm. I have had them for at least a year and being treated with birth control. I get abdominal pain, back pain, pain on my thighs, bloating and nausea. However, what really affects my daily life is the fatigue. I am always very tired, I feel like everything aches and just want to sleep. I work but lack the energy to go through an entire day without feeling I need to sleep!
Avatar n tn When I had the cyst pain (yes, they sure can cause pain no matter what the docs say) I originally thought it was Diverticulitis which I had once before. Causes the exact type of pain, nausea, etc. However,as I mentioned, you may be a little young for that . .. It's little pockets in the bowel that become inflamed/infected. The left ovary is very , very close to the part of bowel that Diverticulits occurs in so it's very difficult to figure out where the pain is coming from .
Avatar f tn I found out I have an ovarian cyst on my right side. Can ovarian cysts cause loose bowels or the feeling to having to go to the bathroom after I eat something or drink coffee or are they 2 separate things? We have started to eat healthier so I'm not eating junk food. But I find that when I eat something, my right side aches and the feeling of having to go to the bathroom happens. Anyone experience this or have any answers?? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Hi there, Try not to worry as benign cysts can also cause these symptoms. I presume there will be follow up tests or appts with your doctor. Good luck and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had ovarian cysts and had trouble concieving or had them and still got pregnant? I do, and ive been trying to get pregnant for almost a year and its really starting to feel like its never gonna happen...
Avatar f tn Did your doctor not follow up on this ultrasound? The odds are good you don't have it but you should have another transvaginal ultrasound to know your current status. The symptoms of ovarian cancer and cysts are very similar. In many cases they can't be sure until a cyst is removed and biopsied. Please don't ignore this.
Avatar f tn Are my gastro symptoms to do with the ovarian cysts? And do I need to bring these other symptoms up with my doctor? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanx.
Avatar f tn Have you been diagnosed with PCOS? This condition causes the acne, weight gain and cysts. It is important to follow up with your doctor to see if you have this condition. It may help you avoid future cysts if you get treatment now. Often, hormones can be out of balance without PCOS and it causes those same symptoms. Usually, birth control pills are recommended to try to get your hormones regulated in cases where your system is out of balance.
Avatar f tn Male factors causing infertility are varicocoele, ejaculatory disorders, radiation exposure and advanced age. Ovarian cysts like polycystic ovarian disease can cause infertility. For more queries and assistance it is advised to consult a gynecologist. You will need evaluation for above mentioned causes. Consult an infertility expert. I sincerely hope it helps. Best wishes and regards!
Avatar n tn Yes, cysts can cause nausea and my you've had your run of them! The nausea can be caused by the cyst pushing on your stomach and/or the hormones involved. For pain there is no rhyme or reason as some small cysts cause a lot of pain and some larger ones none. It really depends on the person and where the cyst is pushing on inside. Endometriosis can raise your CA-125. I am concerned that a complex cyst was allowed to burst and no follow up was done.
Avatar f tn Some ovarian cysts can be associated with decreased fertility. However, it depends on the type of ovarian cyst (endometrioma or PCOS). Other cysts like functional cysts, cystadenomas and dermoid cysts are also there. You need to get your daughter examined from a gynecologist as treatment depends on the type of cyst. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
