Avatar f tn 1) The paratubal cyst is unrelated to the ovarian cysts, and is something that you were probably born with but which enlarged at some point for reasons that we do not understand 2) Regarding your ovarian cysts, what was the pathology? If they were follicle or corpus luteum cysts, then these are what we call 'physiologic' cysts. Physiologic cysts develop in women every month as the egg matures and is released, and usually are not greater than 25 mm (about one inch) in diameter.

518121 tn?1211751734 Hi, am 45 years old married and no children, I was recently diagnosed with endometrosis ovarian cysts, and calcium deposit in my right kidney, I was having this symptoms since I was 15, like, pelvic pain, pain in my right side, I did IVF in 1997 and had my fellopian tubes open 5 years ago but did not get pregnant. How did doctors miss the endometriosis and cysts when they performed surgeries and IVF?
Avatar f tn The ca-125 test is not accurate at diagnosing ovarian cancer. Benign conditions including benign ovarian cysts can cause an elevated result / false positive. Ovarian cancer is rare especially if you do not have a family history. Is there anyone in your family who has had ovarian cancer? Most ovarian cysts are benign / non-cancerous and resolve on their own, no intervention needed. However since yours is on the large side it may need to be surgically removed.
Avatar n tn polycystic ovaries produce too many and at times can cause pain and other symptoms including (commonly) infertility .. on a scan they resemble a bunch of grapes a lot of women who are undergoing fertility treatments also become polycystic (hence the high prevalance of multiple births) google it there are tons and tons of articles about it now the bigger question is ... why did u ask ??
Avatar f tn The concern is if they get too large, they can cause the ovary to twist on itself (ovarian torsion) which can cause the ovary to die. However, you have the risk of losing the ovary with surgery too. Hopefully, your gynecologist or any other you would choose would have good cystectomy (cyst removal) skills so you would not have to lose your ovary since that can hinder fertility.
Avatar f tn They can form anywhere in the body. Ovarian cysts (sists) form in or on the ovaries. The most common type of ovarian cyst is a functional cyst. Functional cysts often form during the menstrual cycle. The two types are: Follicle cysts. These cysts form when the sac doesn't break open to release the egg. Then the sac keeps growing. This type of cyst most often goes away in 1 to 3 months. Corpus luteum cysts. These cysts form if the sac doesn't dissolve.
Avatar n tn When I was seventeen, I had my first ovarian cyst rupture. More cysts formed and my doctor put me first on provera then on the pill to when I was 19 regulate my period and the cysts. I stayed mostly on the pill (Estrostep FE for the majority of the time) for the next ten years until I stopped taking it this February. Since then I have only had my period twice, once was normal and the other only came after another ovarian cyst rupture that sent me to the ER.

Avatar n tn Although it’s not known for sure whether benign ovarian cysts or polycystic ovaries develop into ovarian cancer, the vast majority of ovarian cysts appear to be unrelated. Women who have polycystic ovaries or ovarian cancer seldom have obvious symptoms early on. However, in both disorders, symptoms are noticed as the condition progresses. Because the ovaries are affected on both disorders, the some of the symptoms can be similar.
1279767 tn?1277229374 My husband and I have been trying to conceive for about a year off and on with no luck. We have purchased box after box of those over the counter ovulation tests and still no luck. I talked to a few friends and family members about the problem and one thing that keeps popping up is the possibility of me having ovarian cysts, as my mother had them...but yet here I am, so evidently she wasn't infertile.

Avatar n tn Does it happen every month? Every woman gets ovarian cysts. Most don't even know. Normally filled with liquid. They pop, and get obsorbed into the body. Some do feel the pain. But there are some that can be a real problem. I would go discuss it with my OB/GYN. Let us know what happens!
Avatar f tn The cysts I have cause infertility. if I wait I run the chance of not being able to at all. I have been trying for a year and this is the first time I've even had any symptoms or an irregular period. the longer I wait the worst my ovaries are getting.
Avatar f tn After a few months I was diagnosed having PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) with multiple cysts in both ovaries sizes ranging from 38-40 mm. I started taking Dian-35. I took it for 3 months and went on a diet. On my fourth month my menstrual cycle was on time but I still gained weight. My TVS showed that my cysts persist and they remain the same size, no improvement at all, my doc said it's very likely that I won't be able to lose weight and that I should have a child ASAP.
Avatar f tn Hello, Hormonal imbalance is one of the causes of irregular periods as well as infertility. The cause of irregular periods could be due to hormonal imbalance, stress, chronic illness, polycystic ovarian disease, thyroid gland disorders or diseases, pituitary gland tumors or cyst, galactorrhea, prolactinomas etc. You should consult a gynecologist and get examined and investigated as soon as possible if you are having irregular periods. I hope it helps.
Avatar n tn Some of the causes of irregular periods are ovarian cysts, stress, anemia, and hormonal disorders like thyroid and adrenal malfunction. Please consult your OBGYN as soon as possible as exact cause can be identified only after a clinical examination and tests like ultrasound and blood test. Take care!

1832630 tn?1318056776 Symptoms include abnormal gynecologic haemorrhage, heavy or painful periods, abdominal discomfort or bloating, pelvic pain, back ache, difficulty having a bowel movement or painful bowel movements, urinary frequency or retention, and in some cases, infertility. During pregnancy they may be the cause of miscarriage, bleeding, premature labor, or interference with the position of the fetus. * A disc protrusion is also called bulging disc, ruptured disk, slipped disc, or herniated disc.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
