Avatar n tn I have severe indigestion (gas and heartburn,) burning in my stomach, several loose bowels a day, severe abdominal distention/ bloating, water retention in my legs and hips, and headaches. I am constantly tired, my hair is falling out and I urinate frequently. I started having abnormal cycles around the same time, very painful first day of my cycle followed by a 3 day period, spotting in between periods, cramping after sex, and other times within the month, and lower back pain.
Avatar m tn You need to go see your gyn and have a pelvic ultrasound to see if you have ovarian cysts. Cysts can cause all the symptoms that you describe. You might check out the ovarian cyst forum. Make an appt with your gyn asap. good luck and let us know how you make out.
Avatar f tn I had the Depo-Provera contraception injection in january, and since that, my symptoms have become alot worse, and ive suffered with persistent bloating and weight gain. But im still unsure as this could be water retention due to the injection. I've heard this injection has been proven to cause ovarian cysts, is this true? I was just wondering, if someone could identify with my symptoms? And how i would go about getting a screening, as i am only 18?
Avatar f tn regular doctor I had an ultra sound, looked at water retention, gasritis and thyroid. I went to a Naturalpathic doctor...looked at digestion, probiotics, acid reflux, colon cleansing etc.... Lastly I had a stool test for everything (such as allergies, parasites, etc...) everything looked good except found I had H Pylori. treated it. STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM! What the heck is wrong with me? (and dont tell me IBS.
Avatar n tn I have an ovarian cyst. Previously I've had three Bartholin gland cysts, a cyst on my foot, a retention cyst in my sinus, and a cyst under my arm. Thus far everything was benign, and I'm scheduled to have the ovarian cyst removed later this month. The only cyst that didn't require treatment was the retention cyst in the sinus which cleared up on its own. Some people are more prone to cysts, I've never found a definitive reason why.
Avatar f tn 0 What if anything would my thyroid and liver play into the ovarian cysts and/or thickened uterus? Everything I have read essentially says I should not necessarily have immediate cause to think cancer...that this could simply be hormonal, etc. Of course I am worried like any woman would be, but I'm also VERY VERY curious and questioning my WHOLE health picture since I obviously have other areas of concern going on.
Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts can affect hormones so can cause menstrual cycle changes but yours seem extreme for ovarian cysts. Ovarian cysts are common and usually resolve on their own. Do you know the size of the one(s) you have? As far as family history of cancers, does that include any Gyn cancers especially ovarian cancer? I don't think there's any correlation between Gyn cancers and other types except in the case of Lynch Syndrome which is associated with colon, endometrial and ovarian cancer.
Avatar m tn I thought i was pregnant many times from the symptoms but it was an ovarian cyst cuz the egg has no were to go. Ovarian cysts are not dangerous and you do not need to do anything for them but you do need to fet checked to make sure you do not have a tubal!
Avatar f tn I suggest that you see another doctor!!!! A GYN/Oncologist....NO I DO NOT THINK THAT YOU HAVE CANCER....I am suggesting a GYN/Oncologist because they have additional 3 years training and deal with many benign conditions. I too have what they believe is ORS...but will not know until they do a biopsy of the tissue to confirm that it is of ovarian nature. There is another young lady on this forum, Kasie, that just had surgery for ORS.
Avatar n tn I had laparascopic ovarian cystectomy two days ago to remove two 1.5 cm dermoid cysts in my right ovary. The surgery went well, my ovary was not removed. I understand the swelling will last a while, but I have never heard about the weight gain. I am 6 lbs heavier and I barely ate the last few days. Is the weight gain normal? Is it just water retention? Or a sign of a problem? Thank you!
1570931 tn?1315840395 Oh i hope its not bad, I mean I usually get some discomfort, but my nipples are a dark red almost purplish color and everything is just swollen and painful. Ive also had cramps like im on my pd for a week, but it still hasn't come. Could ovarian cysts cause pain like this?
Avatar n tn Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. Most ovarian cysts will go away on their own. One of the most effective treatments for ovarian cysts is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills. It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling. Other modes of treatment are laparoscopic surgery, laparotomy or surgery for complicated ovarian cysts.
Avatar f tn Sometimes dogs CAN develop ovarian cysts (kind of like humans) and that can affect their hormones. But also, there can be too much progesterone sometimes, or an unusual response to progesterone. This, while not dangerous in itself, can predispose the dog to developing Pyometra (and that, if it strikes, CAN be very dangerous and needs urgent veterinary attention, and emergency spaying) Also, pituitary issues, even pituitary tumors (benign, or malignant) can cause hormone imbalances.
Avatar m tn At such a young age it can be dermoid cyst which is a type of complex ovarian cyst and is the most common type and develops during the childbearing age. Complex ovarian cysts are generally benign. The risk of malignancy is generally higher among postmenopausal women. You should get a repeat ultrasound and CT scan done. A CA125 blood test should also be performed.
Avatar f tn You may have an ovarian cysts the is casueing some pain and are not pregnant. Ovarian cysts can have signs of missed period. Pain, spotting sometimes, nausea, weight gain, water retention. You will not show up + on a test with that but when it ruptures it will be horrible pain for a bit then stop. An eptopic will not stop hurting and get worse. ovarian cysts are nothing to worry about or be seen for. They are jsut a sign that oyu are fertile and that youa re making eggs.
Avatar f tn I have cysts on both ovaries and they are becoming quite painful. does anyone else have this or know what to do?
Avatar n tn Depends what kind of cysts they are. Most women have water filled cysts that come and go over the course of the month, however, if you have a different cyst ie Dermoid cyst, usually surgery s recommended.
Avatar n tn what is the consequence of a maxillary sinus retention cyst in a 14 year old and does it need surgery This discussion is related to Mucus Retention Cysts Of The Maxillary Sinus.
793305 tn?1493925518 s up with the major water retention? Any ideas out there? Other than waking up 5 times tonight to go to the bathroom? My ankles are starting to look like oranges. Not that they were all that shapely to start with. : ) But they're starting to feel a bit tight. Any ideas? I think I'll start with some green tea.
Avatar f tn I'm pregnant and retain water like crazy too....but the more water you drink, the less you retain I been told by numerous doctors.....
Avatar n tn If he finds himself thristy a lot of the time, he could suck on crushed ice. It seems to work better than plain water for quenching thirst. and it takes a lot less to get the job done. If he drinks alcohol, he needs to quit. If he smokes, again he needs to quit. If he has excess weight, he needs to lose it. If he is sedentary, he needs to get up and move as much as he possibly can, but never to the point of not being able to catch his breath, or carry on a conversation.
Avatar n tn I do watch my sodium intake, I drink a lot of water, eat healthy and exercise 5x/wk 45--75 min. I have my yearly eco scheduled the end of this month and will discuss it then, but would appreciate any feedback and comments.
