Avatar f tn Interesting about the link between Losinopril and menstrual irregularities. Are you sure you did not have a mass before you started Losinopril? Fibroids are very common in women in their 30's and 40's. Ovarian cysts are also fairly common. And most of these masses are benign (non-cancerous) and rarely need to be removed. Unfortunately, FAR TOO MANY women lose their uterus and/or ovary(ies) unnecessarily for benign growths.
Avatar n tn 2013 -Pain getting worse and not going away after my period ends. Have all the symptoms for uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis and uterine cancer. Feb. 2014 made an appointment with my GP; unfortunately I had my period so I wasn’t examined, my blood pressure was high, I assume from the pain. My doctor gave me a shot to relieve the pain (it didn’t help) and pain medication (also not much relief) and referred me to have an ultrasound.
Avatar n tn Both ovarian cysts and fibroids effect fertility. My friend had her fibroids removed with a minimally invasive surgical procedure and got pregnant first try afterwards. I have pcos so I'm a little cyst maker! Some of them will go away with a month or two of birth control while others are larger and need to be removed with a minimally invasive surgery. I have had two removed surgically in 1997 and 2007. All my other ones I was able to get rid of with Bcp.
Avatar n tn Sometimes, doctors watch and wait smaller cysts and sometimes they choose to operate. Still, most cysts (even larger and complex ones) turn out to be benign.
Avatar n tn As a generalization, I would say that you have fibroids and cysts on your ovaries. Common things being common, fibroids, which are benign muscle growths of the wall of the uterus, can give you pain and heavy bleeding. Ovarian cysts can be related to ovulation, or benign growths, endometriosis and so on. To sort that out, usually repeat scans are obtained over 3 to 6 months to see dynamically how the cysts come and go.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with mutiple uterine fibroids and a complex ovarian cyst (22ml) with internal echoes .
Avatar n tn I am no expert and do not have fibroids, but I do have issues with cysts and endometriosis. My surgery to remove my ovary and large 14 cm cyst changed my life, and my body, in a way that I was not expecting. If I had to do it over, I would have gotten a second opinion and had a less invasive surgery. (I had a major laparotomy, and found later that I could have had a laparascopy and possibly kept my ovary.) So...
Avatar m tn m wondering what the liklihood of having both cysts and fibroids is and what I should do about it. I am currently waiting for a referral to a gynocologist, much to my doctors not wanting to. The pain isn't pleasent to live with and I don't know what kind of questions to ask or what to expect...
Avatar m tn As the other poster said, larger ovarian cysts can cause urinary urgency. So can large uterine fibroids. Most cysts go away on their own within 2 or 3 cycles so I would not worry much unless your symptoms worsen especially if you start having pain which could be a sign of the cyst rupturing, leaking, or twisting the ovary. Since most cysts resolve on there own, there should not be any impact on fertility.
Avatar f tn Spotting before period start and lack of flow not enough to fill in the pads thin uterine lining and ovarian cysts and small fibroids what treatment to increase blood flow is it low progesterone
Avatar n tn This was my second visit to E.R. since 07 and they told me I have ovarian cysts. This last time the E.R. Dr. also told me I have fibroids, which another E.R. Dr. told me approx 14 years ago when I had the same problem, however, the regular gyn Dr. says it's nothing. It's my understanding that 12 months straight of no periods IS menopause and you shouldn't be getting cysts, but the Dr. says it's o.k. they sometimes form, and even though the E.R.

Avatar f tn I originally went to Dr. for bleeding/spotting all month long (about 2 months ago) and also very dull ache low in my pelvis (ovary). I had been spotting and bleeding irregulary for a couple of years, but the pain started about 6 months ago. I kept ignoring it b/c it wasn't like a stabbing pain and it wasn't constant. I finally went in and had a vaginal ultrasound and that's when he noticed the cysts on my left ovary.
Avatar f tn I agree with redheadaussie, ovarian cyst/fibroids/polps can cause bleeding after sex. I had "bleeding cysts" on both ovaries, fibroids, and uterine polps. I would suggest going to the GYN to get checked out. I've often wondered if since the thyroid is the "main" gland..if it being messed up doesn't cause other growths.
Avatar f tn I had Ovarian cancer but nothing in my Uterus but normal fibroids which were not related or Cancerous. Many women have fibroids and many women have benign Ovarian cysts which resolve by themselves. In my case I got Cancer because I had the BRCA1 mutation in my genetics which is not common unless you have a lot of relatives with Ovarian, breast or Prostate Cancer before 50. I had many close relatives with these Cancers.
Avatar f tn Hi all So I guess I'm just sort of wondering what they are looking for and what kinds of questions I should be asking. I had a TVUS last week due because I has having increasing pelvic pain and new low back pain that had been going on for several weeks. I've known I had fibroids for a while now and I've had cysts come and go so my gyn decided to order the test to see if maybe I had a cyst rupture or something else going on with the fibroids since the last TVUS was done in June 2013.
Avatar m tn That being said, fibroids are common and usually require no intervention. The same for ovarian cysts. However, ovarian cysts usually go away within 3 cycles / months. So another ultrasound in a couple of months or so would be the typical plan. But your doctor should be communicating with you.
Avatar n tn I know how the anxiety can mess you up, The measuremnets of the cysts are the important thing, if 4 cm or smaller, they might just go away. You will have to follow that up with a repeat scan. measuring for growth, the thickened area of the uterus could mean many things, endo, fibroids or just a the uterus getting ready to slough off. I would suggest a pap if he didn't do one, did he do a vaginal exam? OVCA is a rare disease, and cysts are 98% benign.
Avatar f tn Has anyone gone on to have a sucessful pregnancy with uterine cysts/fibroids? I am just curious as to why my doctor wouldn't have been more interested in this. After all, I have had 2 miscarriages in a row.
Avatar n tn Pap was normal, had U/s showed bilateral Ovarian cysts, 2 fibroids and a small fluid collection in the pelvic cul-de-sac. I have lots of bloating, gas constipation, and pressure to urinate all day. My mother had uterine cancer at age 29 and had a hysterectomy. Do you think i could have cancer?
483733 tn?1326798446 I have hypothyroid. I didn't see any listing for whether fibriods were included in "other", so didn't pick that. I guess I should have... Oh well. I had a open myomectomy in '01 where 4 orange and grapefruit sized fibroids were removed, and still have small 1-2 cm fibroids. I've had functional cysts that have self-resolved in the past. Painful irregular periods whenever I'm not on BCP's.
Avatar n tn The doctor explained to me that 80% of women have fibroids and they shrink in menopause. It depends how they are situated and how big they are if they need to be removed. Definitely see your doctor. Let me know how you are.
Avatar m tn Otherwise unremarkable MRI of the perlcis with contrast My doctor is stating that since the cyst on my ovaries shrank in the momth between the ultrasound and the mri and because of my hystory of dermoid cysts (had surgery in 1993 and 1997 to remove dermoid cysts) it is mostly likely a dermoid and no action is necessary as they are rarely cancerous. He states that if i want him to try and remove, he will do so, but there is a risk of total removal of the ovary which would put me in menopause.
