Avatar f tn I had another ultrasound done. This is what the 1st one (Jan) said: Findings: The uterus measures 8.5 x 3.6 x 4.4 cm in dimension. The endometrial stripe measures 8.6 mm in thickness and is unremarkable in appearance. There is a mixed hyper and hypoechoic lesion within the ventral aspect of the uterine corpus measuring 1.3 x 1.3 x 1.4 cm in dimension most consistent with a submucosal leiomyoma. The right ovary measures 2.6 x 1.4 x 2.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, I cannot comment on anything but the ovarian cysts. Cysts are very common and most resolve on their own. If yours are not large (over 7 cm or so) and you do not have a predisposition for / family history of ovarian cancer, then they can usually be monitored via periodic ultrasound.
Avatar n tn Do you know if you have cysts? Please arrange for a transvaginal ultrasound and insist that your doctor rule out ovarian cancer but do keep in mind that over 95% of all cysts are benign. Feel free to join us on the ovarian cyst forum for support.
Avatar f tn I had both ovaries but I have the BRCA mutation and I had cancer in 14 places. They could see the cancer on the ultrasound. Over 98% of ovarian cysts are benign. What does your doctor say. You could have Polycystic Ovary syndrome which is not cancerous.
Avatar f tn 98% of all ovarian cysts are benign. Most women have several benign ovarian cysts in a life time. Uterine cancer and ovarian are not related which is weird. It is good they are checking. It may all turn out to be benign endometriosis. In the old days if you were past child bearing years they would do a hysterectomy. Now they know how important ovaries are to a woman's over all health and do not take them. Just because they test for cancer does not mean everyone has it.
Avatar f tn After multiple tests (ultrasound, ct scan and MRI) I was told I have complex ovarian cysts 5×4 cm on both ovaries and pancreatic cyst that is over 1cm . I have 2 questions. 1. Since I very much refuse and will be refusing contraceptives , how else naturally can I cure ovarian cysts? 2. Can acidic taste in my mouth with coating on my tongue and lower back pain be due to pancreatic cyst?
Avatar n tn Hello, I am hoping that someone has had some experience with ovarian cysts and the use of birth control (nuva ring) to prevent ovulation. My doctor started me on the nuva ring in hopes that it would help with the pain from bilateral ovarian simple cysts that measure 5cm and 4.2 cm. If anyone has experience with this type of treatment please respond to the following questions. Does birth control help with the pain from ovarian cysts? Does using birth control help ressolve the existing cysts?
Avatar n tn Also be mindful of your diet, there is a link between insulin resistance and ovarian cysts. It is best to stay away from processed white flour products like bread and pasta, and the worst culprit is of course sugar.
Avatar f tn I only assume I have PCOS because my hormones are out of whack and I have ovarian cysts. My symptoms have been going on for 10+ years and no doctor ever diagnosed me with this condition or even mentioned it. I have been struggling for the last 2+ years with severe health problems and was recently diagnosed with insulin resistance (metabolic syndrome). Make sure your doctor is very informative about this condition. Ask lots of questions.

Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts are very common and affect mainly women in their 30s and 40s. Women who are past menopause (ages 50-70) and have ovarian cysts have a higher risk of having ovarian cancer. The only way to diagnose ovarian cancer is looking at the cells under a microscope. There are tumour markers the doctors can test for called CA-125 and CA19-9 (both are blood tests) however numbers can be higher due to inflammation.
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts can be benign or malignant but the majority (over 90%) are benign. A lot depends on your age and what type of cyst it is - functional, dermoid, etc. Your doctor hopefully will let you know if there is anything to be concerned about. You can google "ovarian cysts" to get more information so you know what questions to ask at your appointment. Please let us know how it goes.

Avatar n tn We were without health insurance for 3 years and she just had a exam. The doctor had ordered a ultrasound and found 2 cysts one 4cm and one 2, the doctor called and suggested she return in 4 months for another ultrasound. They office was searching for film done 3 years ago and after reviewing a previous ultrasound he ordered a MRI with Contrast...
Avatar f tn Well so far had another transvaginal ultrasound and it shows the trend of my cysts changing and getting smaller. For example starting out at end of 202 was a complex cyst, to simple cyst, back to complex, or hemorraghic. My cysts are smaller which is why my doctored said 'collapsing cyst" she doesn't seem overly concerned. I had the ROMA blood test and awaiting results for that as a well as a repeat transvaginal ultrasound first week in August.
Avatar m tn Breast cysts are usually easily defined by mammogram or ultrasound. Ovarian cysts are not related to breast cysts or to cysts in any other part of the body. Regards ....
Avatar n tn I ended up taking 4 pregnancy test and all were negative, so we thought I might have an ectopic pregnancy, so I went and took an ultrasound and found out that I have a cyst on my ovaries and fibroids on my uterus and all they prescribed me was birth control pills with progesterone. I will start taking them Sun. but I still have not had a period, could something else be wrong...
Avatar n tn ) test for ovarian cancer. I will have a follow-up ultrasound in February. I came home to a report of the ultrasound in the mail and it says the following: "There is a complex cystic lesion of the left ovary which exhibits homogeneous low level internal echoes and peripheral rim hyperemia. This is likely a benign hemorrhagic ovarian cyst which measures approximately 2.0 x 1.7 x 1.1 cm.
Avatar f tn I am 16 years old, I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts after many times to the hospital in may. I've been to my OB several of times. But everytime I go she kinda brushes off my symptoms. I'm having fatigue, low energy, frequent headaches, back pain, hip pain, and of course low abdominal pain. I'm also in constant pain, at times it gets worse.
Avatar n tn What you are describing can be symptoms for many things. These can include ovarian cysts and ovarian cancer. Since it is pretty rare for women your age to have ovarian cancer and since more than 95% of all cysts are benign let's asssume you are dealing with a cyst. I had all the symptoms you are describing and had benign cysts. You should check out the health pages (top right) and look at the listing for types of cysts and symptoms.
Avatar f tn I think they'll be able to explain what's going on and what can be done next after the ultrasound. Is it going to be a transvaginal? I'm surprised they didn't follow up after they saw the 4 x 2cm cyst 3 years ago. A typical cyst when ovulating is only a couple cm large. When the cyst is pushing 5 cm they typically monitor it more closely. I know it's hard to wait but the test tomorrow will be the best thing you can have done.
Avatar f tn I will have details on size of cyst and wall thickness of it later today after I pick up my report and hopefully I will be getting a 2nd ultrasound with gyno. to confirm and get second opinion. Any info would be helpful on septate/complex cysts. So scared about this. Can you have this many symptoms and have it be benign??
