Avatar f tn t need to be on the pill to help prevent ovarian cysts. Well, I have stopped the pill again, about year after my second surgery. I have been feeling a lot of pain again on my right ovary. I am wondering if I have developed another cyst/follicle. It has only been about two weeks after stopping the pill. I am not sure if it is scar tissue that causes the pain, or maybe the pain is due to the fact that I am ovulating again. Or, like I said, maybe I have another cyst.
Avatar n tn What started initially as a small complex Ovarian Cysts now on scan the Dr. says is getting bigger and has put her on birth control pill. How does one get Ovarian Cysts. Please help.
Avatar f tn I had pain on my right side and went for an ultrasound and they told me I have a few small cysts on the right and one had ruptured, but they were more concerned because I had one on my left ovary that is 2.8cm. I think this may have been caused by me abruptly stopping the pill a few months ago. My husband had a vasectomy so I figured why keep taking the pill, I didn't realize how much is would mess up my system.
Avatar f tn As for your question about taking the mini pill, I have been on back to back pill (no gap days) and the doctors say that this will keep the endo under control, although I did form new ovarian cysts while taking it and after my second operation I am now back on Decapeptyl for another 6 months. |Ihope it works for you.
Avatar n tn After 3 weeks on the pill, the pain from the cysts on my ovaries is still increasing. DH and I had a LONG talk and decided to go for the surgery.
Avatar f tn So i started taking the pill at the start of my cycle this month. and usually i have extreme period cramps anyways, but the past week of the start of taking the pill i have been having a lot of pain. especially on the ovaries. i also have been feeling sick occasionally but that could be something else. im just wondering if its okei that i am experiencing pain on my ovaries with the start of taking the birth control pill?
Avatar f tn Its always on my right side. My gyno kept pushing the pill on me, and eventually I tried it. Within 4 hours of taking the pill my chest got very tight and i was so dizzy that i couldnt function. So I never took another after that. From taking that 1 pill, I was dizzy for a week . What I want to know is if there is another way to keep the cysts from forming?? Without having to take hormones.
Avatar f tn Hi, Just browsing the internet and figured I'd put myself out there... I had my first ovarian cyst at 18 or 19 years old and I'm now 22, almost 23 and have had multiples ovarian cysts since then. Just a week ago, I had a 9cm. cyst removed. This is taking such an emotional toll on me. I'm afraid this will affect my fertility and health. Also, OTC pain medications do not help at all unfortunately.
Avatar f tn Definitely sounds like ovarian cyst pain, I'm amazed you put up with it this long. Hasn't your doctor done *anything,* like put you on the pill to try to shrink it? I'd go see him tomorrow effing morning and say you absolutely need to have this dealt with.
Avatar f tn At such a young age it can eb dermoid cyst which is a type of complex ovarian cyst and is the most common type and develops during the childbearing age. Complex ovarian cysts are generally benign. The risk of malignancy is generally higher among postmenopausal women. Most ovarian cysts disappear in 8 to 12 weeks. If they persist then before going in for surgery we can try the birth control pills also.
Avatar n tn D and C or ablation is done for heavy periods resulting from endometrial hyperplasia and not for ovarian cysts. If you want to go the natural way then you can wait for a spontaneous regression of the ovarian cyst. This will require follow up with frequent ultrasound scans. Hope this helps. Take care and good luck.
Avatar f tn -bc-pill with only progesteron in it or an other type of progesteron-like pill) to shrink the cysts I had. It worked! After some days they started shrinking and after 10 days they were gone. I'm on combined bc-pills now (the regular one, like Marvelon/Belara with both progesteron and oestrogen in it) to prevent new cysts from occuring. I know it works, because when I take a break week, after a long cycle of 12 weeks, the damn things grow back like crazy!
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. I'm very much a 'worrier' so sorry if my questions make your eyes roll :) I'm a 25 year old female with no children who is overweight (5'5, 200lbs). I have a family history of cysts and PCOS but no cancer. When I was about 20, I had a functional ovarian cyst diagnosed via internal ultrasound (not sure how big it was).
Avatar n tn 3 cm i think) so i was put on the pill. 2 months later the cyst leaked and i ended up going ot my Ob the next day. come to find out another cyst had formed on my left ovary. only this cyst is bigger then a golf ball. I was then given the Depo shot to hopefully reduce the size/ get rid of the cyst all together. i am a month and a half into having the shot in my system and i feel horrible. I am often in a lot of pain with constant what feel like period cramps. but worse right where the cyst is.
763734 tn?1249384736 I see no connection between your ovarian cyst and the breast cyst. The only relation between the ovaries and the breast is the Estorgen produced by the ovaries which is in turn related to the tenderness of the breasts and sometimes the increase in the incidence of breast cysts in pre-menopausal women. Since you are post-menopausal and your ovaries are not producing the hormone this would not be a consideration in your case.
Avatar f tn It may take up to ~ 3 months for you to feel better, especially after a cyst ruptures, but sometimes can be sooner. It is a good idea to be on the pill and seasonique will also help you avoid your period except for every months as well. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Hello, I have had pain in my lower right abdomen on and off for about a year but when the pain lasted 4 days I went to ER and had an ultrasound which showed approx 7 cm cysts on both ovaries. They have referred me to a gynaecologist but didn't tell me what type of cysts they are. I am 28 and have been on the pill for 4 years so am worried that the cysts might be more serious.
1893678 tn?1322008313 Hi guys, I'm new to this website after reading all your supportive posts about having painful ovarian cysts. I'm 17 and I have been having problems with ovarian cysts since I was 16. Last January, I was 16, and I started feeling severe pelvic pain that wrapped around my back. The pain was so severe I laid on the bathroom floor and cried and cried. My mom then took me to my primary doctor who told me it was only a stomach bug and gave me medicine for the vomitting, and 'stomach bug.
Avatar n tn My sons girlfriend has been admitted to hospital in the early hours of this morning with abdominal pains and sickness, They are testing for both appendicitis and ovarian cysts She is only 18 and I thought it was over 40 that cysts occured. I am looking to reassure a very frightened girl.
Avatar f tn Hi there, Cysts can definitely mess with your fertility and it can take some time to regulate periods after coming off the pill and other birth control. I would call the doc as 6 months seems kind of long to not have a period after coming off birth control.
