763734 tn?1249384736 I am post menopausal and have been recently diagnoised with an enlarged ovary/ovarian cysts on the left side. Yes, I have pelvic presssure pain and constant, cronic lower back pain. My only relief is a heating pad. My doctor is taking a watching waiting approach. Both my nipples became errect and super sensitive. On my left areola a small bump appeared right next to my nipple. My doctor said it was not related to my ovarian cyst. She told me to schedule a diagnostic mammogram and ultra sound.
Avatar f tn I also have fibromyalgia which the enlarged ovary and stress is causing alot more flare ups. Plus I have lumps that keep popping up around my lower back/spine. Okay sorry for venting but this is my last reading from the last ultrasound which is the one that has me most worried to to the wording and other things I have read on different sites that people have posted. Okay so here is the impression note: COMPARISON: MRI pelvis dated April 25, 2016 Uterus is been removed Right ovare measures 3.
4349241 tn?1358287277 Thank you for your reply, Dr. Also, thank you for taking time to read and share with all of us on this site. I'm doing well, considering. The ache has been reduced in that region, so hopeful it is more stress related. I am; however, keeping a log of symptoms to share with my Dr. I also want to keep track of these things to share with others, and will post after surgery.
Avatar f tn Hi Everyone, I just wanted to know the experience of others. I had a laparoscopy done yesterday where a large cyst was removed from inside each ovary. The surgeon also found multiple smaller cysts in right ovary. The surgeon informed me that he has sent the cysts for a biopsy and said ' lets hope it is not cancer'. My mother died of ovarian cancer at 42 so naturally they are more concerned.
Avatar n tn Another possibility to look at would be your appendix, unless you have already gotten it out. Fibroids and ovarian cysts can cause a lot of pain. I would talk to your doctor about your concerns, but it does sound like it is the fibroid and cysts.
473760 tn?1215219977 I just went to have my annual physical and during some of the tests I have come to find out that I have a small ovarian cyst. I have never had this problem before and I am incredibly punctual about annual physicals and what not. This is not the first time I have had this test, and nothing has ever shown up before. I know cysts are caused by many different things, but it just seems odd to me that it occured after starting the Lamictal. Does anyone know if this can cause ovarian cysts?
Avatar f tn I work out regularly and I eat well. I had noticed weight gain over the last few months but I attested it to stress and lack of sleep. I had been having sharp pains once a month that would last a couple days but I knew nothing of cysts so I didn't think it was the problem.. But now I'm thinking I've been having rupturing cysts since May. But I'm now 125lbs and I just feel pregnant! I can't duck in the swelling!
Avatar m tn HOWEVER if your hormones are off like pms your behavior can be irrational too. PCOS can cause ovarian cysts and does have a lot of hormonal issues with it. If she is feeling overly emotional, much worse than PMS and a crying Chunky Monkey night with a sappy movie, perhaps she should talk to her doctor about hormonal imbalances that could either cause her cyst(s), her behavior issues, or both.
Avatar f tn For the past year, ive suffered with sharp shooting pains in my pelvis, and a sciatic like pain down my left buttock and leg. I frequently get pains in my lower back, and it always seem very tender and sore. My doctor told me i had sciatica in my left leg, and that it would go after 3 or 4 weeks on its own, but it hasnt, and im starting to think my symptoms are maybe that of a cyst/cysts on my ovary.
Avatar f tn My husband and I have been trying for some time so I am getting really excited. Now, I have been reading online that pelvic pain is a symptom of ovarian cysts and that ovarian cysts can make a pregnacy test positive even if the woman isn't pregnant. Does anyone know anything about this? I am really hoping I am pregnant but after reading all that I am starting to feel discouraged. Please help. Thanks.
Avatar n tn Hello, I am hoping that someone has had some experience with ovarian cysts and the use of birth control (nuva ring) to prevent ovulation. My doctor started me on the nuva ring in hopes that it would help with the pain from bilateral ovarian simple cysts that measure 5cm and 4.2 cm. If anyone has experience with this type of treatment please respond to the following questions. Does birth control help with the pain from ovarian cysts? Does using birth control help ressolve the existing cysts?
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts can be benign or malignant but the majority (over 90%) are benign. A lot depends on your age and what type of cyst it is - functional, dermoid, etc. Your doctor hopefully will let you know if there is anything to be concerned about. You can google "ovarian cysts" to get more information so you know what questions to ask at your appointment. Please let us know how it goes.
Avatar n tn What is the difference between ovarian cysts and ovarian cancer. I haven't had a period for 3 months now and I have a sharp pain in my lower right side, as well as back pain, especially in the mornings. once in a while i am off balance when walking. i am bloated, and a lot of times i don't have an appetite.
Avatar n tn Also be mindful of your diet, there is a link between insulin resistance and ovarian cysts. It is best to stay away from processed white flour products like bread and pasta, and the worst culprit is of course sugar.
Avatar f tn Your lack of period for that length of time is warning sign that needs attention. Insulin resistance, ovarian cysts and all the symptoms you described can go along with PCOS. I hope you find answers soon!
Avatar f tn I suppose a high creatinine level could indirectly be related to ovarian cysts as ovarian cysts can aggravate hydronephrosis, which in turn elevated creatinine levels.
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts are very common and affect mainly women in their 30s and 40s. Women who are past menopause (ages 50-70) and have ovarian cysts have a higher risk of having ovarian cancer. The only way to diagnose ovarian cancer is looking at the cells under a microscope. There are tumour markers the doctors can test for called CA-125 and CA19-9 (both are blood tests) however numbers can be higher due to inflammation.
1524489 tn?1291406107 I had to get a shot of progesterone yesterday and doc thinks this will shrink the cyst and give me a period in about 5 days. I am already starting to spot. I have had lots of ovarian pain, especially mid cycle and this is why. I had cysts before.. what a pain. An ultrasound should be able to determine whats going on.
Avatar f tn 98% of ovarian cysts are non cancerous. It is rare to have cancerous cysts on both ovaries. If you do not have the BRCA mutation you have a 1.4% of ovarian cancer in a lifetime. You doctor is who you need to talk to. Write down questions to ask.
Avatar m tn More than 98%t of ovarian cysts are none cancer. Ovarian cysts in women are very common. Most resolve themselves with out surgery. If you can take something like Ibuprofen that can help with inflammation.
1785925 tn?1314927242 Many things can cause you to miss your period beyond pregnancy, like a hormonal change, stress, ovarian cysts, injury, and so on. Have you seen your doctor about this? It would be a good idea to see your gyno about this and find out what is going on. Depending on the cause, they will give you the appropriate treatment to restart your period.
Avatar f tn Do ovarian cysts cause extreme fatigue? I have for cysts. One of them is a complex cyst measuring 4cm. I have had them for at least a year and being treated with birth control. I get abdominal pain, back pain, pain on my thighs, bloating and nausea. However, what really affects my daily life is the fatigue. I am always very tired, I feel like everything aches and just want to sleep. I work but lack the energy to go through an entire day without feeling I need to sleep!
Avatar f tn I had one too, we saw it on the ultra sound and of course it freaked me out as everyone said it would hurt a lot when it popped. But the next ultra sound showed it was gone and I never noticed a thing, I wouldn't worry at all.
Avatar f tn Do ovarian cyst symptoms and ovarian cancer symptoms look the same? I ask because I have the following: -gas -bloat/distended stomach -pressure -changes in BM's (constipation and diarrhea) -get full easily after eating -tired/fatigues -heartburn/indigestion -changes in menstruation Thank you.
Avatar f tn I also have a history of ovarian cysts and miscarriage. I have also tried lots of forms of contraception, before my kids and I bled constantly with excruciating the same as during my periods and clots. Anyone have any advice?
Avatar f tn I had pain on my right side and went for an ultrasound and they told me I have a few small cysts on the right and one had ruptured, but they were more concerned because I had one on my left ovary that is 2.8cm. I think this may have been caused by me abruptly stopping the pill a few months ago. My husband had a vasectomy so I figured why keep taking the pill, I didn't realize how much is would mess up my system.
