Avatar n tn My eyes will start burning and recently started running very low grade temp off and on. I feel my body is fighting something. Oh and the last week, I have noticed difficulty breathing sometimes....so weird. They did a pelvic ultrasound and found a complex cystic mass on the right ovary. With all the other symptoms I have been having, should I be persistent that they do a biopsy or a CT scan? Oh, I have also had severe pain in the right liver/kidney area. So sorry for the long question.
Avatar n tn thatquitegirl is right, visiting a doctor would be the best thing to do to confirm any ovarian cysts and to know why youre having those abdominal pains.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed in August 2008 with a left ovarian cyst 5cm +, since then have had regular ultrasounds and transvaginal the last one being 11th December 2008 which I was told the cyst has now slightly changed and has a membrane running through it? With excessive ovarian tissue and the ovary is completley now covered by the cyst and has placed itself behind the womb? There is also a fibroid? I am due to have surgery in January and this scan was to check the cyst hadn't disappeared.
Avatar f tn I went to see and endocrinologist because my last reading was 4.68 and I keep having issues with ovarian cysts. My GYN wanted to make sure it was not PCOS because my sister has it. My other sister is hypothyroid and she is active and states that she feels awful when her TSH is greater than 2. I am just wondering if some are more sensitive to hormone fluctuations than others? I have never had an issue with ovarian cysts or fatigue before. This is not me...
1279767 tn?1277229374 My husband and I have been trying to conceive for about a year off and on with no luck. We have purchased box after box of those over the counter ovulation tests and still no luck. I talked to a few friends and family members about the problem and one thing that keeps popping up is the possibility of me having ovarian cysts, as my mother had them...but yet here I am, so evidently she wasn't infertile.
Avatar f tn I'm not a Dr so I can't answer your question, but I feel your doing what you need to have done by going to see your gyn.
Avatar n tn Hello, I am hoping that someone has had some experience with ovarian cysts and the use of birth control (nuva ring) to prevent ovulation. My doctor started me on the nuva ring in hopes that it would help with the pain from bilateral ovarian simple cysts that measure 5cm and 4.2 cm. If anyone has experience with this type of treatment please respond to the following questions. Does birth control help with the pain from ovarian cysts? Does using birth control help ressolve the existing cysts?
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts can be benign or malignant but the majority (over 90%) are benign. A lot depends on your age and what type of cyst it is - functional, dermoid, etc. Your doctor hopefully will let you know if there is anything to be concerned about. You can google "ovarian cysts" to get more information so you know what questions to ask at your appointment. Please let us know how it goes.
Avatar n tn What is the difference between ovarian cysts and ovarian cancer. Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with a complex ovarian cyst last week and every possible negative thought has been running through my mind. I will see my GYN next week to find out what treatment, if any, will be necessary. But, of course, the fear of ovarian cancer is still causing me to loose sleep.
Avatar f tn I suppose a high creatinine level could indirectly be related to ovarian cysts as ovarian cysts can aggravate hydronephrosis, which in turn elevated creatinine levels.
Avatar f tn but there is no guarantee this will happen. Unfortunately, many women lose an ovary(ies) for ovarian cysts when that is unnecessary. Best of luck to you in getting proper treatment.
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts are very common and affect mainly women in their 30s and 40s. Women who are past menopause (ages 50-70) and have ovarian cysts have a higher risk of having ovarian cancer. The only way to diagnose ovarian cancer is looking at the cells under a microscope. There are tumour markers the doctors can test for called CA-125 and CA19-9 (both are blood tests) however numbers can be higher due to inflammation.
Avatar f tn 98% of ovarian cysts are non cancerous. It is rare to have cancerous cysts on both ovaries. If you do not have the BRCA mutation you have a 1.4% of ovarian cancer in a lifetime. You doctor is who you need to talk to. Write down questions to ask.
Avatar f tn Do ovarian cysts cause extreme fatigue? I have for cysts. One of them is a complex cyst measuring 4cm. I have had them for at least a year and being treated with birth control. I get abdominal pain, back pain, pain on my thighs, bloating and nausea. However, what really affects my daily life is the fatigue. I am always very tired, I feel like everything aches and just want to sleep. I work but lack the energy to go through an entire day without feeling I need to sleep!
356929 tn?1246389756 Had abdominal CT scan in August (to check liver) and was told that I have fatty liver and ovarian cysts (minor notation on report). Side pain has gotten worse and enzymes still elevated. Had second abdominal CT scan to get a better look at liver and pancreas. Was told everything looked okay (still have fatty liver) but the ovarian cysts have grown.
Avatar f tn I had pain on my right side and went for an ultrasound and they told me I have a few small cysts on the right and one had ruptured, but they were more concerned because I had one on my left ovary that is 2.8cm. I think this may have been caused by me abruptly stopping the pill a few months ago. My husband had a vasectomy so I figured why keep taking the pill, I didn't realize how much is would mess up my system.
Avatar f tn I have severe endometriosis. After 6months, july 2011, i had another 1 which is hysterectomy and removal again of ovarian cysts. About ur question abt what to eat post op? If u will be having explore/lap, as soon as u passed gas, u will be able to eat. If no passing of gas yet, u will be on clear liquids(broth, jello).
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, I cannot comment on anything but the ovarian cysts. Cysts are very common and most resolve on their own. If yours are not large (over 7 cm or so) and you do not have a predisposition for / family history of ovarian cancer, then they can usually be monitored via periodic ultrasound.
Avatar f tn After multiple tests (ultrasound, ct scan and MRI) I was told I have complex ovarian cysts 5×4 cm on both ovaries and pancreatic cyst that is over 1cm . I have 2 questions. 1. Since I very much refuse and will be refusing contraceptives , how else naturally can I cure ovarian cysts? 2. Can acidic taste in my mouth with coating on my tongue and lower back pain be due to pancreatic cyst?
405998 tn?1222396217 I am 30 and have been on Yaz for about 2 years consistently. I have been having pain consistent with ovarian cysts for about 2 weeks and was given test results today from an ultrasound that that is in fact what is going on. I don't know anything else yet and am somewhat concerned since Yaz is supposed to suppress cysts.
256161 tn?1196879046 I know lyme causes all kinds of different cysts. I'm not sure about the ovarian cysts though as they are quite common in women in general. Flagyl is a cyst buster so if you have lyme you may feel the herx reaction.
Avatar f tn Although these traits can occur with cancer, they can also occur with benign cysts. And most cysts are benign. The average woman's lifetime risk of ovarian cancer is very low at 1.3%. So if you do not have a genetic predisposition / family history of ovarian cancer then the odds are greatly in your favor that they are benign. Is your doctor monitoring them for now with periodic ultrasounds?
Avatar n tn Common things being common, fibroids, which are benign muscle growths of the wall of the uterus, can give you pain and heavy bleeding. Ovarian cysts can be related to ovulation, or benign growths, endometriosis and so on. To sort that out, usually repeat scans are obtained over 3 to 6 months to see dynamically how the cysts come and go. Depending on your age, birth contorl pills are commonly tried to control heavy bleeding and pain.
