1836987 tn?1319116216 5 % of female patients treated with cetrorelix have developed ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). Symptoms of OHSS include severe pelvic pain, swelling of the hands or legs, abdominal pain and swelling, shortness of breath, weight gain, low urine output, diarrhea, and nausea or vomiting. OHSS can be fatal. Notify your doctor..." I did not see any side effect relative to pituitary or pituitary apoplexy though...
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm 31 with unexplained infertility. I have had an HSG (all clear) and had three failed IUI's (2 with Clomid and one with Gonal F). I got mild OHSS on 75 iu of Gonal F in April and my cysts did not resolve when I got my period. I had a full pelvic ultrasound in May which showed multiple cysts on both ovaries. The radiologist could not rule out an endometrioma. I am on the birth control pill this month to supress my ovaries to get rid of the cysts.
566175 tn?1278430472 A. They are concerned that i might get OHSS (ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome) and they tell me this could be deadly if i proceed. B. Multiples are a big possibility We have borderline swimmer issues anyway so it probably wouldn't even matter. What would you do?
Avatar f tn No pain noticed recently, other than what seemed like a very long and painful ovulation out of my left ovary around day 15. Can multiple cysts from OHSS (?) ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome on Clomid cause such a sharp rise in progesterone without a pregnancy? Does progesterone rise with ovarian cancer? I'm sure you can tell I'm scared to death. Twins run on both sides of my family, and I have two brothers who are twins.
1349754 tn?1289750488 However yesterday the doctor said left over empty follicles that caused OHSS are secreting this and will not need to continue and so did not give me a new prescription (she did not do a blood test). She was more concerned about OHSS and why they had stopped my blood thinning injection when i got discharged from my local hospital. So she has started me on these again - 1 a day 40mg. I am worried that without progesterone it may start miscarriage? Do I have reason to be worried?
Avatar f tn Congrats on your BFP!!! How many dpiui were you when you did your beta? 600 sounds great!!! I'm surprised your doc still did the iui with that many mature follies! But hey, it worked!!! I too did IUI this month along with gonal-f inj...I had 3 folliciles at 18mm then approx 5 more 14-15mm the day of trigger....im currently still in my 2ww (6dpiui) And I also have OHSS... It's no joke! I am in so much pain(more on the left side) & sooo bloated!
443102 tn?1222125946 Well, I think I have been experiencing mild symptoms, but the one symptom that has me going nuts is this fluttering sensation/feeling in my upper abdomen/diaphragm area. It comes and goes and is only for a second, but it stops me in my tracks and makes me catch my breath...doesn't hurt, just feel very strange. I just started experiencing this sensation.... I also have been experiencing some shortness of breath, but nothing scary, just a little uncomfortable feeling.
604185 tn?1233960857 I called the doctor yesterday and they called me in for a check up and she said it was Ovarian hyper stimulation. I cant stop worrying about that. I am still waiting for the beta result, which was done yesterday along with other blood tests. Has anyone gone through this OHSS after getting a positive pregnancy?? Is this going to affect the little bean? When should I be worried? How long will this take to go away.
Avatar f tn My RE told me that real OHSS only happens at his office about once or twice a year. And he does occassionally get cases of mild OHSS which doesn't effect the cycle. I don't have to worry though b/c I am a "poor responder" .
Avatar f tn I have had excrutiating pain and found out I have 3 cysts. One is behind ovary resting on bladder and rectum. I have been extremely bloated and crampy. My progesterone level yesterday was 62. Dr said it was very high and is hopeful I am pregnant. I did a HPT yesterday and was a faint positive. Could be from trigger. I have noe fertility problems but my husband has low count and motility. Had anyone expereienced severe bloating this early?
1611503 tn?1325482190 Potential Complications of Clomid The main risk associated with Clomid use is the potential for developing Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS). OHSS can occur with the use of any type of ovulation stimulating drug. It happens when cysts begin to form on the ovaries, causing them to swell to a very large size. Typically, OHSS disappears without treatment but, without proper monitoring, the syndrome can become dangerous.
324913 tn?1302869517 I was very nervous about OHSS and did the above regimen. I did have some slight bloating and cramping but it was manageable. Don't do any strenuous exercise and keep watch. If you are in severe pain at any time then give your doctor a call. Good luck!
Avatar n tn Hello, I am hoping that someone has had some experience with ovarian cysts and the use of birth control (nuva ring) to prevent ovulation. My doctor started me on the nuva ring in hopes that it would help with the pain from bilateral ovarian simple cysts that measure 5cm and 4.2 cm. If anyone has experience with this type of treatment please respond to the following questions. Does birth control help with the pain from ovarian cysts? Does using birth control help ressolve the existing cysts?
310089 tn?1232481423 OHSS leads to swollen ovaries and ovarian cysts. This can be rather painful. If you do not get pregnant but develop OHSS it would typically go away on its own or your doc may give you b/c for one cycle that would clear our the cysts. If you do get pregnant these cysts will not go away on their own because of the pregnancy hormone. I know one lady on this forum who was really hyper-stimulated and became pregnant that cycle.
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts can be benign or malignant but the majority (over 90%) are benign. A lot depends on your age and what type of cyst it is - functional, dermoid, etc. Your doctor hopefully will let you know if there is anything to be concerned about. You can google "ovarian cysts" to get more information so you know what questions to ask at your appointment. Please let us know how it goes.
Avatar n tn What is the difference between ovarian cysts and ovarian cancer. I haven't had a period for 3 months now and I have a sharp pain in my lower right side, as well as back pain, especially in the mornings. once in a while i am off balance when walking. i am bloated, and a lot of times i don't have an appetite.
Avatar n tn Also be mindful of your diet, there is a link between insulin resistance and ovarian cysts. It is best to stay away from processed white flour products like bread and pasta, and the worst culprit is of course sugar.
Avatar f tn I suppose a high creatinine level could indirectly be related to ovarian cysts as ovarian cysts can aggravate hydronephrosis, which in turn elevated creatinine levels.
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts are very common and affect mainly women in their 30s and 40s. Women who are past menopause (ages 50-70) and have ovarian cysts have a higher risk of having ovarian cancer. The only way to diagnose ovarian cancer is looking at the cells under a microscope. There are tumour markers the doctors can test for called CA-125 and CA19-9 (both are blood tests) however numbers can be higher due to inflammation.
Avatar f tn 98% of ovarian cysts are non cancerous. It is rare to have cancerous cysts on both ovaries. If you do not have the BRCA mutation you have a 1.4% of ovarian cancer in a lifetime. You doctor is who you need to talk to. Write down questions to ask.
Avatar f tn Do ovarian cysts cause extreme fatigue? I have for cysts. One of them is a complex cyst measuring 4cm. I have had them for at least a year and being treated with birth control. I get abdominal pain, back pain, pain on my thighs, bloating and nausea. However, what really affects my daily life is the fatigue. I am always very tired, I feel like everything aches and just want to sleep. I work but lack the energy to go through an entire day without feeling I need to sleep!
Avatar n tn I was concerned it being OHSS before they did the transfer and the doctor did a scan to check and also said that my Estorogeon levels were around 10000 and was unlikely to be OHSS. Also having had a failed IVF cycle they asked if I suffered OHSS which I hadn't so the likeliness was reduce. However due to the uncomfortably they said I can stop taking the progesterone tablets but continue with progesterone injections and crinone.
