Common Questions and Answers about Ovarian cysts and novasure

Avatar f tn t know what effects Novasure (or any other type of endometrial ablation) can have on ovarian cysts. But ablation is associated with long-term problems especially when done on women under age 46. I recall a woman saying that a doctor at a top-notch hospital told her that ablation should not be done on women under age 50 because of the long-term problems. The ovaries, uterus and tubes work as a unit.
Avatar n tn The bleeding is definitely of concern. Bowel and urine and pain and bloating are all common cyst symptoms. When is your surgery scheduled? there are a lot of questions you need to ask and a 2nd opinion might be valuable.
Avatar n tn I have had a hysteroscopy (Oct) and NovaSure (March), and I am still having periods. The pain in my ovary area is killing me. I had my gall bladder removed on the same day I had the NovaSure. A week later, I was having major pain in RLQ and so I went to the ER. They did an x-ray to rule out appendicitis. They found a bone island in my pelvis the size of a quarter. I went back to my doctor and he ordered a CT scan. It showed cysts on my ovaries about 2 cm in size.
1478129 tn?1446975332 I'm almost 52 and I have some heavy periods.....I was going to do Novasure...but I was wondering if I should just wait it out..menopause shouldn't be to far off....also I have awful leg pain..is this a sympton of fibriods ?
Avatar f tn Is it possible to have a elevated CA-125 and it be hemorragic ovarian cysts? This week what started as I thought a stomach bug has turned into surgery to remove cysts and possibly my ovary(ies). I'm 36 yrs. old and at the beginning of the week I woke early in the morning with upset stomach and a little diarrhea. Then I had a little pain over in my right lower quad and small bm. By the middle of the week I had doubled over with pain in myat I can describe as contraction like pain.
Avatar f tn I suffered from heavy period and ovarian cysts. The heavy bleeding has stopped since the ablation but I have had the same pain in the lower left pelvic area and on 10/5/11 I actually went to the urgent care as I suffered all night with it. They did an exray and a vaginal ultrasound and found fluid which was an indication that an ovarian cyst had "possibly ruptured".
Avatar n tn I just wanted to reach out and tell you that I feel your pain and have been very scared myself. I have a history of many ovarian cysts and that worries me too. My cysts have turned out to be functional, which basically means they will resolve on their own, but I get them every month. It is very painful, hard to sit, and feels like a lot of pressure in abdomen and rectum too. I also have been suffering with heavy bleeding and pain for about six months.
Avatar f tn I went to my GYN (whom I love, BTW), and after several ultrasounds, was diagnosed with bilateral complex ovarian cysts. The larger one on my right side was almost 4cm, and the other one was smaller. Amazing that something so small could cause so many issues. At any rate, on this past Monday I underwent laprascopic surgery. They had told my husband that I would be in the OR about an hour, when in reality it was almost three. The cysts had attached themselves to the abdominal wall.
Avatar f tn I am 53 and had the Novasure procedure 3 years ago and have not had a period since. I had right sided pain 2 weeks ago only in the morning when driving. Felt like my ovaries (like ovulating but worse). The pain stopped for about a week. Then at the end of the next week it came back. I also felt pelvic pressure And some urgency from the pressure. I'm still hungry, no stool changes, not sure if my stomach is larger since I went off my diet the last few weeks and have gained a few pounds.
Avatar f tn I am 33 years old and I have had several ovarian cysts rupture over the past year which always occur on the left side. I have posted before but am struggling again to find answers. I always have the same pain that is concentrated in my lower abdomen but typically radiates from my left rib down to my pelvic bone. It usually gets worse with any increased activity (excercise, sexual activity, lifting my daughter too much). It also is worse at night.
Avatar f tn m sorry, I think you most likely have just what the doctor said, cysts on your ovaries. With reproductive issues such as ovarian cysts, an OB WOULD be the logical choice of doctor to see. I think it is very doubtful that you are pregnant as tubal is considered permanent sterility. An occasional woman does conceive but those pregnancies are often tubal pregnancies. So, go see your OB and get this sorted out. Come back and tell us what is going on, okay?
Avatar f tn My Doc has done the physical exam, the internal and external ultrasound to rule out tumors, cysts, fibroids, etc., Am going this week for a uterine biopys to rule out any othe problems. Then hoping to schedle UA next week. I have no problems but extremely heavy bleeding. Done having children, age 47, and no cramping etc., but 12 day long periods with the heavy bleeding. In reading the comments here, most of these people have a lot of problems.
Avatar n tn Hello, I am hoping that someone has had some experience with ovarian cysts and the use of birth control (nuva ring) to prevent ovulation. My doctor started me on the nuva ring in hopes that it would help with the pain from bilateral ovarian simple cysts that measure 5cm and 4.2 cm. If anyone has experience with this type of treatment please respond to the following questions. Does birth control help with the pain from ovarian cysts? Does using birth control help ressolve the existing cysts?
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts can be benign or malignant but the majority (over 90%) are benign. A lot depends on your age and what type of cyst it is - functional, dermoid, etc. Your doctor hopefully will let you know if there is anything to be concerned about. You can google "ovarian cysts" to get more information so you know what questions to ask at your appointment. Please let us know how it goes.
Avatar n tn What is the difference between ovarian cysts and ovarian cancer. I haven't had a period for 3 months now and I have a sharp pain in my lower right side, as well as back pain, especially in the mornings. once in a while i am off balance when walking. i am bloated, and a lot of times i don't have an appetite.
Avatar n tn Also be mindful of your diet, there is a link between insulin resistance and ovarian cysts. It is best to stay away from processed white flour products like bread and pasta, and the worst culprit is of course sugar.
Avatar f tn HI IAM 39 AND I HAD NOVASURE DONE 7+YRS AGO I HAVE 2 KIDS AND THREE TIMES THIS YEAR I BEEN HAVING CONTRACTION FOR 5/6 HRS AND IAM NOT PREGENT HELP ANYONE ?
Avatar f tn I suppose a high creatinine level could indirectly be related to ovarian cysts as ovarian cysts can aggravate hydronephrosis, which in turn elevated creatinine levels.
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts are very common and affect mainly women in their 30s and 40s. Women who are past menopause (ages 50-70) and have ovarian cysts have a higher risk of having ovarian cancer. The only way to diagnose ovarian cancer is looking at the cells under a microscope. There are tumour markers the doctors can test for called CA-125 and CA19-9 (both are blood tests) however numbers can be higher due to inflammation.
Avatar n tn I HAD A NOVASURE PROCEDURE DONE AND ALSO A D &C HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT TO HAVE SEX
Avatar f tn 98% of ovarian cysts are non cancerous. It is rare to have cancerous cysts on both ovaries. If you do not have the BRCA mutation you have a 1.4% of ovarian cancer in a lifetime. You doctor is who you need to talk to. Write down questions to ask.
Avatar f tn Do ovarian cysts cause extreme fatigue? I have for cysts. One of them is a complex cyst measuring 4cm. I have had them for at least a year and being treated with birth control. I get abdominal pain, back pain, pain on my thighs, bloating and nausea. However, what really affects my daily life is the fatigue. I am always very tired, I feel like everything aches and just want to sleep. I work but lack the energy to go through an entire day without feeling I need to sleep!
