Avatar f tn After multiple tests (ultrasound, ct scan and MRI) I was told I have complex ovarian cysts 5×4 cm on both ovaries and pancreatic cyst that is over 1cm . I have 2 questions. 1. Since I very much refuse and will be refusing contraceptives , how else naturally can I cure ovarian cysts? 2. Can acidic taste in my mouth with coating on my tongue and lower back pain be due to pancreatic cyst?
1340383 tn?1309990914 I am trying to explore natural remedies for healing ovarian cysts..I have one (2.6 cm by 3.4 cm) on my left ovary and my Dr is suggesting birth control pills.. anyone heard of any herbs or food items to shrink cysts? Thanks!!
Avatar f tn The pain, an ovarian cyst can provide. But the bleeding? I've had a lot of ovarian cysts in my day and never once did any of them bleed. Bleeding like a period (or a little less) sounds like a progesterone drop for whatever reason. If the op's natural hormone levels shifted slightly downward, that could have caused a not-enough-progesterone situation that has caused the bleeding.
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts are very common and affect mainly women in their 30s and 40s. Women who are past menopause (ages 50-70) and have ovarian cysts have a higher risk of having ovarian cancer. The only way to diagnose ovarian cancer is looking at the cells under a microscope. There are tumour markers the doctors can test for called CA-125 and CA19-9 (both are blood tests) however numbers can be higher due to inflammation.
Avatar n tn Hi, I was just wondering if you thought of using natural progesterone cream? It is supposed to help align the progesterone to estrogen dominent problems such as ovarian cysts.
Avatar f tn I am sorry you are going through this. I had an ovarian cyst and wish my gynecologist had taken a conservative approach. Instead, I was rushed into surgery and over-treated. Scar tissue is a real risk. And there are other risks such as losing the ovaries and their life-long vital functions. Or even if the ovaries are not removed, the surgery could affect their function.
Avatar n tn Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. Most ovarian cysts will go away on their own. One of the most effective treatments for ovarian cysts is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills. It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling. Other modes of treatment are laparoscopic surgery, laparotomy or surgery for complicated ovarian cysts.
Avatar n tn Common things being common, fibroids, which are benign muscle growths of the wall of the uterus, can give you pain and heavy bleeding. Ovarian cysts can be related to ovulation, or benign growths, endometriosis and so on. To sort that out, usually repeat scans are obtained over 3 to 6 months to see dynamically how the cysts come and go. Depending on your age, birth contorl pills are commonly tried to control heavy bleeding and pain.
Avatar f tn ld like to add that based on my ultrasound, these cysts are not chocolate cysts.
Avatar m tn My daughter has Endo and also reoccurring cysts, she is 22 and has had 11 surgeries. They have now removed her left ovary on Nov. 5th and she already has a large painful cyst on her right ovary. She is getting a cyst every 45-60 days and are so painful she is throwing up and can't walk. The doctors have tried every hormonal option. Any suggestions? They don't want to do a hysterectomy at her age.
Avatar f tn I have a history of ovarian cysts and recently had a laproscopy done to remove minor endo and a couple of ovarian cysts. WHen I had my first Day 3 FSH test done in Oct it was 10- not an issue according to my RE. I had the test re-done in Feb when I was also having issues with some small cysts on my ovaries, and it came back 1.6!! Very low, but both gyn and RE said that was "very good".
117065 tn?1280874407 My questions are, do you think there may be a connection between my cysts rupturing and losing my pregnancies, and if so what can we do about it? and I was also wondering if I had my left ovary removed (where I had all the cysts, and no tube on that side), would I be more likely to get pregnant on my own using the right side which is somewhat healthier? I should also let you know that neither my RE or my OB believe in checking progesterone levels?
Avatar f tn I have gained around 10 lbs in the past month, my stomach is bloated, breasts are swollen, cravings, ovary pain, frequent urination, irritability, vomiting, frequent migraines............ I have had problems with ovarian cysts before and now only have 1 ovary. What is wrong with me??
655897 tn?1328018445 I read the infromation in the box and it said that ectopic or ovarian cysts can give a misleading result. Does that mean they could cause a false positive or a false negative? Do ovarian cysts produce HCG? I thought they only produced progesterone? I am confused. I really hope my level doubles tomorrow..it is so hard to wait. By the way, I forgot to mention that I know that I have three cysts on each ovary which is why I am concerned with a false positive.
329994 tn?1301663248 They have done a physical and I had another ultrasound with him and that is when he recommended the progesterone. Dr. Goodman had recommended the MRI and/or laparotomy. Anyway, yes, I feel like I am just running around with my head cut off. Still have all the same symptoms. I guess I will try the progesterone one more month (like he recommends) and then see. In the meantime, I have something suspicious on my mammogram. Going for an ultrasound tomorrow. Sigh...
Avatar m tn Ovarian cysts generally come and go and resolve on their own. I know some ovarian cysts do interfere with ovulation. Fibroid also , if they're too big, interfere with embryo implantation. You say you've been trying for over a year....if this is the case and give the cyst and fibroids I would schedule an appt to visit the doctor.
433702 tn?1232294235 t until I was with My RE for a month that we did an ultrasound after ovulation ( i had a natural LH surge, but just to be sure we also used a hcg trigger shot!) and only to find on ultrasound that my follicle was still there days later! i've been monitored for two months and both months its happened, I only ovulate 1 out of 3 follies so far! ugh! but the good news is that its not common at all! more common in PCOS and endometriosis patients, and unfortunately i have both of those!
Avatar n tn Although it’s not known for sure whether benign ovarian cysts or polycystic ovaries develop into ovarian cancer, the vast majority of ovarian cysts appear to be unrelated. Women who have polycystic ovaries or ovarian cancer seldom have obvious symptoms early on. However, in both disorders, symptoms are noticed as the condition progresses. Because the ovaries are affected on both disorders, the some of the symptoms can be similar.
Avatar f tn One of the most effective treatments for ovarian cysts is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills. It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling. Other modes of treatment are laparoscopic surgery, laparotomy or surgery for complicated ovarian cysts. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
551683 tn?1220656108 samll uterine fibroid, some ovary cysts, and thickened endometrium. Gyn. gave me progesterone (sp?). She said this should help with periods. I didn't tell her about all the pain because I blamed it on the FMS, but after researching this, I realize the pain is from these problems. Does this mean surgery? Thank you for your reply.
Avatar n tn D and C or ablation is done for heavy periods resulting from endometrial hyperplasia and not for ovarian cysts. If you want to go the natural way then you can wait for a spontaneous regression of the ovarian cyst. This will require follow up with frequent ultrasound scans. Hope this helps. Take care and good luck.
Avatar f tn Spotting before period start and lack of flow not enough to fill in the pads thin uterine lining and ovarian cysts and small fibroids what treatment to increase blood flow is it low progesterone

Avatar f tn I have found in my practice, that if I suppress both cysts AND menstrual periods with depot Lupron, and it HELPS, then a hysterectomy likely will too. If is doesn't help, a hysterectomy likely won't. Chronic pain is very poorly understood, and has to do with how the nerves of the body "remember" pain. It also often leads to depression (not vice versa as many doctors would suggest).
222322 tn?1271022838 I am new to this board and to cyst. I have been doing some research on endometriosis and ovarian cysts (my own, I am not a dr). I think your diet changes and working out are great ideas. You could also try to eliminate dairy and alcohol. I am reading Christine Northrup's book about women's health and problems with our ovaries can be related to stress in our lives especially - being critical and controlling or being controlled and criticized by others.
