Avatar f tn I was one of the lucky few who did happen to have a laparoscopy just to rule out anything serious, was found to have ovarian cancer, and was caught at stage 1C. I thank God for my doctors who wanted to be thorough! There's a good chance that nothing will be found, but why worry when you have the chance to find out for sure? Best wishes!
Avatar n tn He sent me to see a colon specialist and a colonoscopy was done and everything looked ok. A laparoscopy was done and he drained several cyst on my left ovary. my laparoscopy was done November 11, 2008. on January 15 I was having pelvic pain again. A doctor in the ER sent me for a vaginal ultrasound. the ultrasound revealed that my right ovary measured 2.6x3.9x3.6 centimeters. left ovary measures 3.7x2.3x3.2 centimeters. there were numerous follicular cyst in both ovaries.
Avatar m tn I went off birth control 4 years ago and ever since then I have been developing ovarian cysts. Sometimes i get lower back pain that extends down my buttocks and feels like sciatica . I also get what feels like menstral cramping after intense exercise. During ovulation i also experience uncomfortable cramping. My periods are pretty regular (maybe off by 5 days tops) and they are not heavy, just normal and they last about 4 days.
Avatar f tn Hello... I know you are worried sick about now...I went through something similar except my surgeon scared the *@#&@ out of me! My CA-125 was 26 and I had a large ovarian cyst as well...So, here's the thing...Most ovarian cysts rupture and fire off their egg and/or reabsorb. There are always cysts being made that enclose the eggs while they reach maturity. The CA-125 test is cr@p for testing ovarian cancer because it is influenced by hormone levels...
Avatar f tn Since then I was on Yasmin birth control pills, had a punctuation and was on Zoladex shots for sih months in order to save my left ovary, because I have cysts and endometriosis on it too. I stopped taking Yasmin pills year and a half ago in order to TTC, but nothing happened, so I wanted to try insemination, but my gyno said that I had one formal cyst and one endometric cyst and they are big, so the next step he sais is laparotomy and than In Vitro procedure.
Avatar f tn The right ovary is enlarged and measures 8.2 x 4.9 x 4.0 cm. There is a complex ovarian mass that measures 5.3 x 3.1 x 3.6 cm fine low level internal echoes. There is another complex cystic lesion that measures 3.0 x 2.4 x 3.4 cm with fine low level Lacey echoes. No flow is identified within these lesions and they likely represent hemorrhagic cysts. A simple cyst is also noted measuring 4.3 x 2.4 x 3.4 cm. And the report states that I have free fluid by my vaginal cuff.
1620452 tn?1316536918 Has any one had a laparoscopy to remove cyst off the ovaries? and how long after can you TTC? Waiting for my RE to call me back but I felt the experts here :) will let me know first. Plus I will like to hear first had what to expect. SSBD!!!
1813956 tn?1316715823 In young women these cysts are usually functional cysts and often will resolve spontaneously or with medical management. However if it is a complex cyst or an endometriotic cyst then this will require a laparoscopy and/ or removal. Consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation. Hope this helps.
1696352 tn?1318532367 Hi.Am 33 yrs old,i hve a 16months boyand i just had ovarian cysts removed by laparoscopy on the 3rd sept...my question is.,should i expect normal cycle after such procedure?my cycle's always 28-30 days.
Avatar m tn well if they are just doing it laparoscopicly, and just removing the cysts, general rule of feeling better is 2-4 weeks as its smaller incisions etc. When i had mine, it was 2 weeks and i started to feel a little better, but was closer to 4 weeks before i felt like i could start working out etc. For removing the ovary( are they looking at removing both or just 1) and uterus I'm not sure. I had to have my ovary removed via laparotomy so its a bigger incision and that was back in Feb/11..
Avatar f tn s not a bad idea to have the lap done if all other tests come back normal. With a lap, they can see things like ovarian cysts or polyps that an ultrasound can't see. I just had my lap done a month ago, and nothing was found, but it's best to rule that out. Good luck!!
Avatar n tn Your surgeon was not able to remove your entire ovaries in 1992. Some ovarian tissue was left, and this has now developed cysts and showed up on CT scan. 3. The multiple cystic masses which the radiologist identified as "ovaries" are in fact, something else. I think the laparoscopy is a good thing to do, so that the nature of those cystic masses can be clarified, given the conflicting information in your medical history.
Avatar n tn I have a history of ovarian cysts as large as 10cm and have had 2 surgeries in the past with one surgery involving removal of my right ovary. After being infertile for 8 years, I did get preganant after that and had 2 children. For 8 years after, I have had no symptoms or pain. In May/June the pain/discomfort came back. Had ultrasound and had 2 cysts. One 5cm, the other one 3 cm. The small one was complex with 10 compartments and the doctor didn't like it.
Avatar n tn Your cysts are not that large but with endometriosis, size of cyst or spots of endometriosis does not correlate with pain. Some women have terrible pain and tiny spots , other women have huge cysts and no pain. One of the many mysteries of the disease.
Avatar m tn hi i have no previous history of ovarian cysts and on a previous scan approx 2 years ago showed normal healthy ovarie. i have had years of ongoing bladder and pelvic pain and ongoing sterile pyria.i have adhesions and am in reguklar pain particularly at menstruation. have regular periods, lots bloating was diagnosed ibs approx 10 years. had many tests/treatment inc laparoscopy. am 40 years old.
Avatar f tn My surgery is scheduled for May 20th for 2 cysts removed from right adnexal and ovary. Dr said she would not know if we can save the ovary or the tube until she is inside. My dr. notes say: Within the right adnexa the right ovary is enlarged. Ovarian tissue measures 4.5 x 3.0 x 5.1 cm. A peripherally enhancing low-attenuation lesion measures 2 cm and is present inferiorly. Posteriorly there is a simple-appearing low-attenuation lesion measuring 3.9 x 3.1 cm.
Avatar f tn Do you know how large the cysts are in her uterus and ovary? Most doctors will want to remove ovarian cysts after they grow over 5 cm (about 2 inches) in size because if they burst it will hurt like crazy or the weight of one can cause the fallopian tube to twist. They can't make any big decisions until they check it out more thoroughly. Some women are just prone to developing cysts and it's not always malignant. Avatar f tn hi!...i am 25 yrs. old and have found out that i have ovarian cysts. My ultrasound result is this: There are two, closely apposed complex cystic pelvoabdominal masses, more to the right, each cyst measures 10 x 7.7 cms. and 9x6.9 cms. A complex cystic mass is also noted at the left adnexa measuring about 7 x 4.3 cms. Impression: Complex cystic masses as described probably due to bilateral ovarian dermoid. the cysts on the right may represent a single mass with loculation and lobulated contour.
