168348 tn?1379357075 I have MSK which is Medullary Sponge Kidney and many times the question comes up if there is a corellation between MSK and Ovarian Cysts. Same holds true with thyroid patients ... many ask oftentimes if there is an association between Ovarian Cysts and Thyroid conditions. Anybody have any thoughts on this? I am CL of the Thyroid Disorders and post on the new MSK (Medullary Sponge Kidney) Community ..
Avatar f tn I too have Ovarian Remnent Syndrome...and have had re-curring cysts in the pelvic area. I too am an Ovarian Cancer survivior, stage 1A. I too have cysts on my kidneys. Now, all that being said, I have had a total of two surgeries and although there are more cysts...the doctors are not too keen on a 3rd sugery because of all the risks. The doctors have also mentioned that some people are just cystic and develop these things....doesn't mean that it is cancer.
Avatar m tn No, or I should say highly unlikely. Ovarian cysts may rupture or 'twist' and when that happens it will feel like sharp stabbing pains. You may also get, as part of cysts, irregular periods or heavier periods. Your physician/obgyn (or the ER depending on pain level, etc) should be contacted in any of those cases or when anything 'feels' different. But, no, dying is not likely. The physician can give you more details.
Avatar n tn , cyst or hemangioma). The findings in the liver and kidneys are also probably benign (e.g., cysts). These can be further characterized with MRI abdomen if further characterization desired.
1427674 tn?1283107458 I have looked everywhere and I cant find any information about cysts in babies. Do cysts turn into masses? And if so, can it turn into cancer?
Avatar f tn I hope you do not have cancer and your surgery goes well. Keep us posted. My CT scan showed cysts on my kidneys and liver but I was not told to follow up on those.
Avatar f tn I had an MRI for checking my kidney stones and cysts and it said for the pelvic part. There was a large fibroid, 2 benign ovarian cysts but the last line that concerned me was 'trace pelvic free fluid not expected for patient's age'. I'm 62 I am not sure what this mean. I tend to get cysts all the time - ie kidney cysts, ovarian, fibrocystic breasts , cysts on my back. But the mri reported didn't suggest any special follow up to it and I am not sure what to think.
Avatar f tn I have polycystic ovarian syndrome, and have been having intense pains. Some doctors are saying that it can be kidneys, some say that the pain is because of the cysts! Some docs say that the cysts are not suppposed to hurt. Does polycystic ovarian syndrome cause excruciating pain? If not, what could be wrong with me. My mom died from cancer and i am worried that it could be.
604168 tn?1222537786 How big is your cyst and is it complex or simple? I also have an elevated ca 125 with simple cysts, but my ca 125 was elevated prior to the cysts occuring. Mine stays around the same level and has been that way for 9 months. Although the ca 125 is very nerve racking, it isn't all that reliable. I wish I could be of more help. I am sure some of the more experienced ladies will be along soon to lend some great advise.
18454502 tn?1465007523 He also sent me in to simonmed to get an ultrasound on my bladder and kidneys. He found a renal cyst and said to go see my pcp. Then i call and se my dr and he never received my ultrasound so he couldnt treat me for that.
Avatar f tn Hello, Ovarian cysts in pre-menopausal women are common but any cysts in a postmenopausal woman should be taken seriously and ovarian cancer should be ruled out. You should get a repeat ultrasound and CT scan done. A CA125 blood test should also be performed. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.

Avatar f tn They called me today with the results and said that my right ovary was covered in cysts and that I had a very large cyst on my ovary and that i needed to see a gyno asap. Since I was unhappy with my last visit, I switched doctors and they can't get me in util july 19. So I was hoping that someone could ease my mind until then. My ct report says that I have a cystic lesion on my right ovary measuring 4.3cm*3.3cm. my questions are 1: Is that considered a large cyst?
Avatar m tn I'm sorry you are dealing with this. The good thing is that most ovarian cysts are benign (non-cancerous). And most end up going away on their own. However, yours is on the large side so monitoring it may not be an option. If you do need to undergo surgery, it is best to have just the cyst removed (cystectomy) so you can keep your ovary and its LIFE LONG job of producing hormones that are needed for every aspect of health. Please keep us posted. Best of luck to you!
Avatar f tn My question is could these be the start of more borderline tumors? Do borderline tumors start as cysts and progress and can they show up in the kidneys and liver? I just keep wondering if this is the start of something but it is just way too early to tell. The urologist that I followed up with for the ultrasound of the kidney just wants to repeat the ultrasound in a year to see if there are any changes but doesn't seem worried at all. I hate being scared of this borderline stuff...
Avatar n tn I am 28 and recently had some quite severe symptoms that I believed were related to glandular fever. It started with nodes swelling at the back of my ears, then extreme flu like symptoms and ear infections. Then the dizziness began. A feeling of constant 'swimming' and of being light headed. I also felt extremely tired all the time and depressed. My mood swings were uncontrollable and I was told I may have bipolar!!
Avatar n tn m not sure if there is a correlation between testosterone and ovarian cysts but maybe someone will address that. Your cysts are small and there is no real evidence to panic at this time. Leave a message with your doctor's answering service and ask to be called back this weekend. Hang in there.
Avatar f tn I am in the same boat as you and have some of the same questions...noone has told me yay or nay yet though..but i have a gyn. appt. friday..and i hope i can get some answers..
Avatar n tn It seems to me I had that once, actually, nine was originating in the kidneys and it was vertebae out of alignment pressing on those nerves, the chiropractor fixed me right up.
Avatar f tn A CA125 measures a specific protein in the body that is found in higher concentrations specifically in ovarian cancer tumors (not kidneys, bladder, liver etc). But because it can increase in the body for other conditions besides ovarian cancer such as endometriosis, benign cysts, etc, an elevated reading alone cannot diagnose ovarian cancer. Likewise, women with certain types of ovarian cancer (MMMT, or clear cell, for example) may not have an elevated reading at all.
Avatar f tn I developed a much larger (grapefruit sized) ovarian cyst, 9.5cm / 95mm. The CT scan also showed a number of cysts on my liver and kidneys but they were not concerned about them. I was told I just happened to be a "cyst maker" even though I hadn't had problems with ovarian cysts in the past (not that I was aware of anyway) and have no idea how long I had the liver and kidney cysts. I am surprised you have had so many CT scans.
