Avatar n tn I am 46 and pre-menopausal. The first 22 months on the tamoxifen I had my period and occassional hot flashes. then one month my period stopped and my hot flashes. At month 27 on Tamoxifen, I had an ultrasound that shows a lickening of the uterean wall and 3 complex ovarian cysts. My Dr. is doing a biopsy but my question is why would my periods AND the hot flashes go away completely? I would have thought that if my period stopped my hot flashes would get worse not better.
Avatar f tn I too have Ovarian Remnent Syndrome...and have had re-curring cysts in the pelvic area. I too am an Ovarian Cancer survivior, stage 1A. I too have cysts on my kidneys. Now, all that being said, I have had a total of two surgeries and although there are more cysts...the doctors are not too keen on a 3rd sugery because of all the risks. The doctors have also mentioned that some people are just cystic and develop these things....doesn't mean that it is cancer.
Avatar f tn She started me on Lo-Seasonique to try to regulate hormone levels, and my GP started me on Lunesta for the insomnia. I still have the INSANE hot flashes, night sweats, and moodiness. Could it be ovarian failure, or is this maybe the left ovary having difficulty trying to keep up with the hormone balance now that its "partner" is gone? Thank you so much!
378102 tn?1215571666 My hot flashes began about halfway through my original chemo, and have not changed a whole lot since. After my surgery, my gyn/onc put me on premarin for awhile but I did not really see where it did a whole lot. I have heard that many of those herbs are supposed to help, but remember before you start taking anything, clear it with your Dr first.
Avatar f tn I feel your pain! I have ovarian cysts and have had one rupture. It was extremely painful. I have been having regular hot flashes, tender breasts, painful sex, and no period for four months. (and I have always been very regular, unless I'm nursing.) The hot flashes started a week after my last period so, I'm pretty sure I'm beginning the change and I'm only 28. It can happen. The doctors often don't know for sure either, but at least they can tell you if it is something else.
Avatar f tn Also, are ovarian cysts related to ovarian cancer? I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts while in my 20’s which went away on their own with no treatment.
Avatar n tn ve suffered from extreme hot flashes to the point where I was on a snowing mountain and had to strip off to a singlet. It happens daily, Is this normal- or a side affect from my period?
Avatar f tn ve been getting real bad hot flashes and night sweats (I wake up in puddles throughout the night). Could these be related? I have never had anything removed......
Avatar f tn So anyways, in the last month I have been having severe hot flashes, about 3 a night. I also gained some weight and lost my sex drive. Has anyone else had these symptoms w/ ovarian cysts. I have been tested and I am not in menopause! Any advise would be helpful. thanks!
Avatar f tn last year at the age of 40 I ended up having a full hysterectomy due to 2 very large ovarian cysts...hot flashes were the worst...I have been on a small low dose of estrogen patch..it has helped me tremendously...My worst symptoms were hot flashes and mood swings other than that I have been ok..My doctor recommended the patch because they felt I was too young to put my body through menopause..I also was diagnosed with severe endometriosis and my ca-125 was 44. Good Luck and Keep us posted....
Avatar f tn Hi jojo, Why not come visit us on the Ovarian Cyst Forum. This forum is primarily for Ovarian Cancer and there probably will be more folks replying to you on the "cyst" forum. You could also check out the Hysterectomy Forum. I had my ovary removed when I had the cyst removed but I'm also post menopausal so it really isn't the same as it is for you.. Pop on over to the Ovarian Cyst forum and post this over there..
Avatar f tn The worst was definitely the hot flashes, they were multiple times and hour, I changed clothes throughout the night and was miserable. I couldn't stand myself. Not sure how long you'd be on Lupron for but you should know it was a long 3 months. Its been nearly 2 months since my last implant and I'm still having symptoms although they seem to be subsiding. Best of luck to you!
Avatar f tn 63cm3 is this any concern, my GYN said both US were normal, yet I am having 75+ hot flashes a day, terrible lower abdomen pain and if I am on my feet for more than 30 minutes my belly swells like I am pregnant. About 6 mths ago went to the er and they thought I needed to go to labor and delivery (I only weigh 120lbs) The ER didnt know what the problem was other than a cyst on the left ovary and sent me home to follow up with GYN. Where do I go from here?
Avatar f tn When I was pregnant with my little boy 6 years ago my obgyn told me I had cysts but they weren't bad (they checked it). That day I found out my family (on my mom's side) has ovarian cancer, breast cancer, and ovarian cysts. I don't have medical insurance and I don't get paid enough to see anyone about it, but it has me worried that something isn't right, I'm usually normal but instead I've missed 4 periods.
Avatar n tn She lost both ovaries and now has the menopause symptoms with the instant hot flashes. Any help with natural medicine or of a good Dr that practices natural? She is 24 years old. God is good because with that lost we became grandparents two days later.
Avatar m tn I have about 20 night sweats every night. I have to change pajamas and sometimes the sheets. I have hot flashes. I have way more facial hair I have to shave twice a day. Taking the ovaries out does not end ovarian cancer. I had everything taken out plus the lining of my organs called the omentum and part or my colon. I had cancer in my liver and diaphragm and my lymph system. Now it has spread in my liver, lymph nodes (around my heart and in my neck), and in my spleen.
Avatar f tn He just said moodiness and hot flashes. His plan of action is to take Clomid every other month and do IUI. The more I read and ask around, this isn't the right protocol. Should I take Clomid with this on and off cyst? He said he was going to give it to me every other month. He never said he was going to strictly monitor me w/ ultrasound to see if new cysts are forming or if existing is coming back during an 'off time' or if it's growing because of Clomid.
Avatar f tn If Tsh is .11,can this cause palpitation and hot flashes.Cannot take hormones. Tks.
Avatar f tn Hi again, Well, I experienced vaginal dryness, insomnia, hot flashes, depression, greater fatigue and weight gain. The worst part was I didn't know what was happening to me. I thought my vagina had changed from the surgery but it turned out that dryness caused a multitude of issues for me. Just because they give you the all clear at six weeks doesn't mean you have healed. I learned that the hard way.
Avatar f tn But what bothers me most is the hot flashes. Especially at night! I wake up every 2 hours sweating! I have not got my period back yet since treatment started. I have a hard time finding anyone with same illness or able to answer my question about hot flashes.. anyone have advice? ( I know talk to me doctor) but looking for personal experience here! This discussion is related to immature teratoma stage 1.
Avatar f tn Back pain and pelvic pain with pressure became more frequent and severe through the following months as did on going hot flashes and night sweats and fatigue. By August 27th it was constant back and pelvic pain but also started having extremely sharp stabbing pains in the ovaries along with nausea & diarrhea. Decided I needed to get things checked on Sept 2nd due to the severity of the pain.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed in the ER exactly a week ago with an ovarian cyst on my left side because I was experiencing awful pain & nausea. They told me the cyst was benign & should go away on its own & didn't seem too alarmed by it. However, here I am a week later & the pain has gotten quite a bit better but the symptoms have not.
410903 tn?1209588402 I have hot flashes and pain in my stomach when having sex with my husband. I have no entergy, I sleep all the time. I need help with this I have 2 kids 4 and 6 years old, I cann't even play with them because I am tried. It is putting a strain on my marriage because I cann't do anything at my house because I want to sleep. Is this all related????
Avatar f tn You just need the cyst out. Ovarian Cysts are 98% benign. Unless you have the BRCA gene you have a 1.4% chance of Ovarian cancer in a life time. It is less the younger you are. Hysterectomies cause problems. Especially if you have your ovaries out. You need your ovaries for as ex life. With them gone that is changed forever. Bone density. Night sweats. Hot flashes. There can be even more problems. Plus your uterus holds the other organs in place.

356929 tn?1246389756 im still going through the horrible hot flashes and up and down mg estrogen doses changed monthly due to swollen feet burned hands, hot flashes, and cold flashes (due to thyroid issues)!! i also found out in a very horrible way im allergic to synthetic progesterone!! as of today im an emotional wreck!! but im posting this to help all women no matter what age to get pap smears, vaginal ultrasounds, thyroid blood panels, breast exams yearly!!
746917 tn?1234571359 Yes, I heard about the hot flashes and bad side effects w/ Lupron, its not something I really want to put myself thru. Its also scary to take an injection of something that lasts for weeks or months. So that's good news, after you got the hyst, no more endo? What kind of hormones are you on? Are there bad side effects w/ that?
