Avatar n tn What you are describing can be symptoms for many things. These can include ovarian cysts and ovarian cancer. Since it is pretty rare for women your age to have ovarian cancer and since more than 95% of all cysts are benign let's asssume you are dealing with a cyst. I had all the symptoms you are describing and had benign cysts. You should check out the health pages (top right) and look at the listing for types of cysts and symptoms.
Avatar n tn How, exactly, does ovarian cancer cause bloating (intestinal distention) and indigestion? I've read that these can be symptoms, but I'm not sure how ovarian cancer can cause them. Can you explain this for me? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Hi, Small ovarian cysts cannot cause such a huge swelling that looks like a 4 months pregnancy. Other factors like gas and bloating, pregnancy, ascites or collection of fluid in the abdominal cavity etc can cause distension of abdomen. You should consult a gynaecologist for an examination. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I also have periods of constipation and diaheria and lots of gas and burping. Things seem to settle down until the next attack which can last for a couple of days. In the past I had a scope done to check my stomach for acid reflux but that wasn't the problem. It is and continues to be focused below my navel but I can have pains that circle around to my lower back. At times, I also have aching pressure on my rectum perhaps due to the constipation.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am 34 years old and think I may have an ovarian cysts...I will be seeing my ob-gyn this coming Tuesday but wanted to write on this forum to get some advice. Here are my symptoms: Started off as severe bloating, every day I am bloated (this has gone off and on for weeks now) Pain/Pressure in the pelvic area on left side only...(This just started to happen a few days ago) Pain under rib cage, almost as if I have a lot of gas/pressure buildup and am unable to release it.
Avatar f tn I had a lot of bloating and gas and abdominal pain after taking six weeks of antibiotics for cold problems, went to a natural health store and they gave me a Dietary supplement called Digest-All by MRM and GI-DTX and Ultra Flora Plus DF Capsules by Metagenics. These supplements help me more than what the Dr. gave me.
Avatar n tn What is more concerning to me is that for at least the last year I have had a lot of issues with gas, bloating, upset stomach and constant loose stools. Not necessarily diarrhea, but not formed. I also have cramping similar to menstrual cramps most days of the week, with some days being much worse to the point of needing to lay down. I have constant dull pain in my lower left pelvis. My regular doctor said "IBS" the gyno said "I don't know".
Avatar n tn Keep going to Dr's until you find answers........... I knew something was wrong but the Dr kept sending me to GI docs saying I had IBS. I never felt right and then I finally got answers. I had severe Endo and ovarian cysts. Endo can cause most all of your symptoms. I don't have any experience w/hair loss. I hope you feel better, I understand how frustrating it is!
Avatar f tn Do ovarian cysts cause extreme fatigue? I have for cysts. One of them is a complex cyst measuring 4cm. I have had them for at least a year and being treated with birth control. I get abdominal pain, back pain, pain on my thighs, bloating and nausea. However, what really affects my daily life is the fatigue. I am always very tired, I feel like everything aches and just want to sleep. I work but lack the energy to go through an entire day without feeling I need to sleep!
Avatar f tn I have had ovarian cysts in the past. I also have gi symptoms including alot of gas, and some pain under my breasts, upper rib cage. I don't have any bloating, or increased abdominal size. I recently had a colonoscopy which was normal. The dr is sending me for a cat scan to check for kidney stones and ovarian cysts. I am very worried this could be ovarian cancer. I have afamily history of colon cancer (father). Am i being irrational, or should I be very worried?

Avatar f tn ve read all seem to lead to ovarian cysts or ovarian cancer but can a 19 year old have ovarian cancer? my mother laughed out loud when I told her that so I feel like a complete idiot .. is it possible there is something wrong with my ovaries even if no apparent cyst is found?
Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts can also cause an excess of gas. If adjusting your diet as above does not help you might want to check that out. Other symptoms might include bloating, abdominal pain, sciatica like pain, breast pain, back pain, weight gain, urinary urgency or period timing issues.
Avatar f tn Is this a typical symptom with ORS and ovarian cysts? Also, I am in the military. They mis-diagnosed my cervical stenosis for over 9 months and finally rushed me into emergency surgery when a civilian doc looked at me for 2 seconds. When I went to the ER this last time I was told they couldn't figure out what was wrong and maybe it would just go away. I then went back a week later with my stomach distended twice it's normal size. I was told that it was all in my head.
Avatar n tn Pap was normal, had U/s showed bilateral Ovarian cysts, 2 fibroids and a small fluid collection in the pelvic cul-de-sac. I have lots of bloating, gas constipation, and pressure to urinate all day. My mother had uterine cancer at age 29 and had a hysterectomy. Do you think i could have cancer?
Avatar f tn Turns out I have ovarian cysts, 3 or 4 - the largest being 4.9cm and an enlarged ovary. However, she says my weight is nothing to do with the cysts and that I should go on a diet and do plenty of exercise - if its normal weight it will come off, if its not, it won't! Urghhhhh! What do I have to do to get her to realise that this weight gain is NOT normal for me regardless of the fact that I've just hit 41! Any suggestions anyone?
Avatar n tn Does anyone know if a 4cm ovarian cyst can cause stomach bloating (upper and lower)? Can a cyst be cancerous?
Avatar n tn they chalked up my symptoms of periodic gas/bloating to the SBO, which is most likely due to scar tissue from previous pelvic surgery I had 16 years ago (to remove benign ovarian cysts). On the upside, my CA-125 has been taken twice, and scored a 6 and a 5.But that can be misleading too (though I hear it’s more reliable past menopause?).
Avatar m tn Go to the pharmacy and get something made to break up gas (with simethicone) like Gas-X, MyTab or Phazyme, and take it. If it solves the problem, you'll know that was what it was. The part where you said it is difficult to stand up straight is what I was reacting to. That sounds more extreme than gas, but I guess if there is a lot of gas, it's possible.
Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts can cause bladder and bowel problems. In my case it was due to the size of the ovarian cyst and the pressure it was placing on other organs. In my daughter's case, the abdominal pain with the ovarian cyst was severe and caused nausea. By the time we discovered that an ovarian cyst was causing the pain, she had become constipated, which added to her irregularity and discomfort. Like MarieMichele, before my ovarian cyst was removed, I had to eat very small amounts.
Avatar f tn I have had really bad cramping and am wondering if this hard spot is a sign of ovarian my ovarian cysts. Now the lump itself does not hurt to touch.
Avatar n tn I have had numerous ovarian cysts for approximately 8 years now, but have started having weird pains and bloating. My lower back is in pain along with occasional pain in by lower left abdoment. I have bloating all the time and nothing seems to relieve it. I thought it may be another ruptured cyst, but the bloating and pain hasn't gone away. Is this lower back pain and bloating related to an ovarian cyst?
Avatar f tn Breasts tender and in last few months constant bloating, dragging sensation pelvis, feel like I.can feel my ovaries and full of gas. Numbness in hands in morning, pain in right thigh, insomnia. Going for pelvic ultrasound in ten days. Concerned.
Avatar n tn Since my gyno continues to tell me my gas, bloating, constant BMs and lower left-sided pelvic pain is NOT related to my ovarian cysts, she sent me to a gastroenterologist. I had a CT scan yesterday that only showed my IUD and "bilateral prominent ovaries". I briefly spoke with the GI doctor who said this could be due to my menstrual cycle. Since having the IUD, I have not had a period now in over a year. And he did say "prominent" meant "enlarged". So.....
Avatar f tn Everything seemed fine and he chalked it up to being ovarian cysts and prescribed birth control for me, which I am currently on. The most recent time that I had the pain landed me in the emergency room after I threw up and could barely walk. The doctors ran blood tests again (not sure exactly what they tested for) and said everything looked fine. They even did a CT scan, but didn't see anything. No infections or any masses that were visible.
