Avatar n tn As a generalization, I would say that you have fibroids and cysts on your ovaries. Common things being common, fibroids, which are benign muscle growths of the wall of the uterus, can give you pain and heavy bleeding. Ovarian cysts can be related to ovulation, or benign growths, endometriosis and so on. To sort that out, usually repeat scans are obtained over 3 to 6 months to see dynamically how the cysts come and go.
Avatar n tn Both ovarian cysts and fibroids effect fertility. My friend had her fibroids removed with a minimally invasive surgical procedure and got pregnant first try afterwards. I have pcos so I'm a little cyst maker! Some of them will go away with a month or two of birth control while others are larger and need to be removed with a minimally invasive surgery. I have had two removed surgically in 1997 and 2007. All my other ones I was able to get rid of with Bcp.
Avatar n tn I had ovarian cysts and fibroids and got pregnant...actually I was scheduled to have the cysts removed and found out I was pregnant before I even removed them...I would check with your doctor and just make sure what kind of cysts you are dealing with,,also have your doctor give you a transvaginal ultrasound to determine what is going on..Good Luck..

Avatar n tn Sometimes, doctors watch and wait smaller cysts and sometimes they choose to operate. Still, most cysts (even larger and complex ones) turn out to be benign.
Avatar m tn Breast cysts are usually easily defined by mammogram or ultrasound. Ovarian cysts are not related to breast cysts or to cysts in any other part of the body. Regards ....
Avatar n tn Another possibility to look at would be your appendix, unless you have already gotten it out. Fibroids and ovarian cysts can cause a lot of pain. I would talk to your doctor about your concerns, but it does sound like it is the fibroid and cysts.
Avatar n tn We were without health insurance for 3 years and she just had a exam. The doctor had ordered a ultrasound and found 2 cysts one 4cm and one 2, the doctor called and suggested she return in 4 months for another ultrasound. They office was searching for film done 3 years ago and after reviewing a previous ultrasound he ordered a MRI with Contrast...
Avatar f tn I have had my tubes tied for about a year and a half and started on birth control about 4 months later due to heavy periods. I then started with heavy cramping and a lot of spotting so in Oct I had and d&c and they removed some scar tissue and small cysts. I was told to continue the bc and the bleeding should be better. I have started with the heavy cramping and spotting again. I bleed light to moderate most mornings and cramp during. I bleed after sex and cramp hard.
Avatar f tn m sorry momma. I have cysts and 2 fibroids. I get more pain from the cysts then fibroids though. I was debating a vbaC but I had.one doctor say I couldn't bc of my fibroid placement and another said it wouldn't be a problem. Just curious how far are you and did they say anything about having to have a c section bc of the fibroids?
Avatar m tn Ovarian cysts generally come and go and resolve on their own. I know some ovarian cysts do interfere with ovulation. Fibroid also , if they're too big, interfere with embryo implantation. You say you've been trying for over a year....if this is the case and give the cyst and fibroids I would schedule an appt to visit the doctor.
Avatar m tn I have a history of complex ovarian cysts and fibroids. Had a benign cyst removed in 1990 and CA 125 was in the single digits. Continue with cysts and fibroids which have been monitored with TV ultrasound - they remained stable so no concern. CA 125 in 2003 was 7. Now about a month ago I had lumpectomy for stage 1 breast cancer - no node involvement. Plan to start radiation soon. Had my cysts checked and new CA125 is 56! Is there a good chance I now have ovarian cancer?
Avatar n tn I am no expert and do not have fibroids, but I do have issues with cysts and endometriosis. My surgery to remove my ovary and large 14 cm cyst changed my life, and my body, in a way that I was not expecting. If I had to do it over, I would have gotten a second opinion and had a less invasive surgery. (I had a major laparotomy, and found later that I could have had a laparascopy and possibly kept my ovary.) So...
10704596 tn?1412127746 Further calcified fibroids are seen smaller measuring up to 1 cm. Nabothian cysts are noted in cervix. Right ovary contains multiple small follicles measuring up to 9 mm. Left ovary contains multiple cysts numbering at least 5 measuring up to 3 cm, some which are simple and the 3 cm cyst is partially collapsing with septation and a couple of cyst shows some low-level internal echoes possibly hemorrhagic. No free fluid.
Avatar f tn I went to the hospital. Baby is fine but I have ovarian cysts and benign tumors on my uterus. I'm happy the baby is OK but terrified.
1832630 tn?1318056776 3/ Sub mucosal fibroid 4/Lt ovary contains Anechoic cysts/follicles This is my MRI 4 weeks ago The uterus is anteverted and anteflexed with multiple cervical nabothian cysts and a few subtle low signal areas within the myometrium which may represent the fibroids noted on the previous ultrasounds. Endometrial thickness is about 2 mm. There is a multiseptated cystic mass in the right adnexa, the largest cystic component measures 5.8 x 5.5 cm which extends into the right iliac fossa.
Avatar f tn posts about their complications with ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids but no one seems to experience the exact same thing im experiencing and I really wanna get to the bottom of it. I'm 19 and discovered i had fibroids when i was 16. it didnt really effect me and didnt give me any complications until december of 2015 (when i was 18). i started the birth control: nexplanon (the one they insert in ur arm), in september of 2014, and i didnt bleed/have my period up until dec. 2015.
493331 tn?1209409635 Hi there, This is a link to a page that has a lot of women discussing in detail this same thing. The very first one is a woman who has cysts, & fibroids and she was able to keep her ovaries. Everyone is different of course, & they may not be true for you, but who knows.
Avatar m tn That being said, fibroids are common and usually require no intervention. The same for ovarian cysts. However, ovarian cysts usually go away within 3 cycles / months. So another ultrasound in a couple of months or so would be the typical plan. But your doctor should be communicating with you.
Avatar f tn I had Ovarian cancer but nothing in my Uterus but normal fibroids which were not related or Cancerous. Many women have fibroids and many women have benign Ovarian cysts which resolve by themselves. In my case I got Cancer because I had the BRCA1 mutation in my genetics which is not common unless you have a lot of relatives with Ovarian, breast or Prostate Cancer before 50. I had many close relatives with these Cancers.
Avatar n tn I went to the ER last Friday night for bleeding heavily over a week and abdominal pain. The doc found 3 fibroids, an ovarian cyst and a pollyp and to call my OB on Monday. I went on Monday and was hospitalized. The doc only found 1 fibroid but wasn't concerned so he let me go. I don't trust the sonogropher who did the ultrasound because she was new. He didn't see any other reason for the pain. The bleeding has stopped but the pain is still there and severe. What do I do now?
Avatar n tn Pap was normal, had U/s showed bilateral Ovarian cysts, 2 fibroids and a small fluid collection in the pelvic cul-de-sac. I have lots of bloating, gas constipation, and pressure to urinate all day. My mother had uterine cancer at age 29 and had a hysterectomy. Do you think i could have cancer?
Avatar f tn Most MRIs of the abdomen also shoot images of the pelvic area, and if they did, then it would have shown ovarian cysts if they were there at the time of the MRI. However the best test for diagnosis is an ultrasound. So as your gynecologist has advised you can get a repeat ultrasound done. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
576095 tn?1217493479 About 3 years ago I had my first operation removing about five fibroids, a year ago I had another 2 removed. My husband and I have been struggling to fall pregnant for the last six years and no luck. Doctor says it is just unexplained infertility. I had two artificial insemination treatment but they also found a cyst on my left side. My question,.if I had a cyst on my left side should they have continued with the treatment?
Avatar f tn Hi There, I know this sounds simplistic but if you have completed your child bearing, you should consider a surgical intervention to remove part of the cysts or the whole uterus and ovarian cysts if they are really complicated. It sounds like you have been getting an evaluation. You should sit down with the doctor and review all the reports and options.
