I have ovarian cysts and 2cm isn't that bad, but it also won't give you a false positive. My little ovaries are riddled with cysts, but the two times I've taken a pregnancy test and had them come back positive were because I was pregnant. Congratulations!

I have cyst on my ovaries and I had a positive test. So I scheduled an appt. and they did both urine and blood test and those came out positive. But I would suggest making an appt. so you have that extra confirmation.

Now, I have been reading online that pelvic pain is a symptom of ovarian cysts and that ovarian cysts can make a pregnacy test positive even if the woman isn't pregnant. Ectopic pregnancy, and sometimes ovarian cysts can cause a positive test. But i believe it's unlikely because I suffer from cysts. And I found out I was pregnant by being 8 days late and seen an obgyn and I'm definitely prego. But i also have a cyst on my ovaries.

You can have a false positive with ovarian cysts or menopause. But having a line fade away is still a positive test. No worries!

Does that mean they could cause a false positive or a false negative? Do ovarian cysts produce HCG? I thought they only produced progesterone? I am confused. Then they did a pregnancy test and it came back positive. They then checked my hcg levels (pregnancy horomone) and it was like 350. They couldn't see anyting on the u/s, so they said it's either too early to see anything or I'm miscarrying. I had been told that I was unable to have kids due to other problems and my husband had a vasectomy before I meet him. Any ovarian mass, will excrete a certain hormone that can sometimes cause a false positive pregnancy test. Ive dealt with them my entire life because i have endometriosis so if ut says negative, then ur not pregnant and u have nothing to sweat. So no a cyst cant cause a negative but can cause a positive even if u arent.

At this stage you are only just due for your period the pregnancy hormones are not very strong and you can get a false negative or give a very faint positive. But, it for sure sounds like you are preggo becaus a positive is a positive. As far as the pain goes, it doesn't necessarily mean it's an ectopic pregnancy. The thing that kinda gets me is the ovarian cyst part.. I was looking up online what can trigger false positive results on a preg. test and it says cysts can but I looked more into it and it has to be a certain kind? So its kind of confusing. I'm planning to get things checked this weekend.

2 weeks after I spoke with the doctor on this, I was feeling ill, took a pregnancy test (5 days before my period) and it was positive ! I was thanking God and getting all excited, calling my mom.. etc.. until I read cysts can cause false positives,, anybody know how rare this is?? or am I getting too excited for nothing?

I would wait and test again in 4 days if you don't see af ugly face..you could be pregnant and your hcg levels just aren't high enough yet to read on a test..symptoms really don't mean a lot since pregnancy symptoms and af symptoms are so similar it can't be hard to test just relying on them...so test again the day after af is due...

via of Vaginal Ultrasound after false positive (pregnancy) I am 52,No family history,Tubal Lig. menopauseal. My gyno did ca125 and Endomentrial Biopsy yesterday and mammagram and abdom and pelvic CT today. In conversation he mentioned Complex Mass. Can you give me alittle info on these facts.Does my treatment seem to be going in the right direction.
