Common Questions and Answers about Osteoarthritis webmd

Avatar f tn There are many possible causes for these pains and only tests and an examination will identify what is happening. cmy_zhu, bathing late at night will not give you arthritis or cause pains. Osteoarthritis develops at sites of previous injuries or due to the aging process. Autoimmune forms of arthritis are caused when the immune system gets confused and starts to attack healthy tissue.
387767 tn?1345875627 I need to lose weight for my health and the osteoarthritis in my knees, but it's hard to get enough execise with the pain I have now.
645390 tn?1338558977 He thinks I might have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and I need a blood test. WHAT? Seriously?? (This was one of the diseases my mom had). I looked quickly on WebMD, know I shouldn't, but there is was in black and white. Me and my symptoms. It said RA affects the fingers, toes and Cervical Spine. (I had cervical spine surgery Jan 08 for 2 herniated discs. Surgeon said it was due to I had a congenitally small spine and arthritis).
Avatar f tn but I would like to get my dizziness under control and my pain. (sadly I also have Osteoarthritis in my spine) Im 39!!!!! But I only weigh 108 so its not due to my weight. Hopefully we can find out whats going on with us. Good luck on the 16th!
182884 tn?1259316506 Cheryl, hi, it sounds like it might be good for osteoarthritis, but it is not a good choice for me. I just looked it up on WebMd, and it says under Warning. Not to be used if you are at risk for cardiovascular disease, and since I have risk factors for Cardiovascular problems including High blood pressure, high cholesteral , and just had what may have been a Heart attack in April of this year, it is a dangerous med for me to consider. Thanks for the info though.
Avatar n tn i try to take 1/2 of each with 1/2 of a caffiene pill if i can---seems to make the meds work better. i am also dealing with osteoarthritis. i'm wondering where someone read that this is supposed to go away---everything i read is very discouraging---sounds like they really don't know how to treat it and that a remission is pretty unlikely and that we should be glad for the times when it seems better, and that they usually don't last for long.
Avatar f tn I have had osteoarthritis in by back for years, and my gut feelingis that this related. But it's just a guess. I can totally sympathize with everyone else who's had these symptoms! It's very unnerving.
Avatar f tn In the back of my mind, I wonder if my neck pain was due to the degenerated discs/osteoarthritis or is it because of the torn cuff. I have to put the surgery on hold for cufff until I heal from the fusion. I am so tired of being in pain and I am having alot of trouble trying to cut back on the pain meds because the lower dosage doesn't help. Also I am wearing the bone growth stim. and was told I have to wear it for 6 months. I hate that thing, it hurts the back of my neck tremendously.
Avatar n tn This same thing just started today, with me. I looked it up on WebMD (but could only check "numbness or tingling") and it listed something called "Cauda Equina Syndrome," which is something potentially serious related to the spinal cord. Although that kinda makes sense since I'm also having super low back pain (and have been since my car accident in July), I feel a little relieved knowing I'm not alone, now.
Avatar n tn I am so relieved I found this. WebMD had no information on this. I was playing on the Wii yesterday and out of no where I felt my finger tingle like it was swelling a few minutes later it was turning blue. I have been freaking out since then looking all over the internet. I thought I was havng a reaction to some new medicine I am taking but I went to their site and it is not listed as a side effect or reason to call Dr. Then my husband said maybe I popped a blood vessel.
Avatar n tn As a 34-year old mother of 3 with osteoarthritis in both hips, the lower back and left knee, along with mood swings out of control, this drug has done wonders! The best part is that there is no weight gain side effect. In fact, I've started to lose weight again. I also started kickboxing around the same time and it has helped with the mobility of my hips, as well as helping me feel more energetic. I actually enjoy exercising and find myself working out at least 5-6 days a week now.
