Avatar f tn Then eventually in June I was offered xrays and a CT scan which showed up slight osteoarthritis in both hips. Would the osteo have caused the bursitis? Also have a burning sensation down the front of my thighs. Then two months ago I started having pins and needles in my right hand quite a bit during the day. I was sent to physio but this wasn't any help at all and at present am waiting the letter from the physio direct to my doctor discharging me and suggesting what to do next.
Avatar n tn These are signs of osteoarthritis and are caused by formation of osteophytes of the joint cartilage. It can be a response to repeated trauma at the joint. This is more common in women and usually develops in middle age. It can start with sudden pain, redness, or numbness which eventually subsides. Another kind, Bouchard's nodes which are similar bony growths in the middle joints of the fingers may also be present. Have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and regards.

Avatar n tn So I saw the hand surgeon again in May 2004. And he said it would not help to remove the cyst, if, as he believes, it is caused by the arthritis in the wrist.. He recommended surgery to take a piece of a tendon in my wrist to use as a spacer between the wrist joints. It would be a 2 day inpatient hospital stay, a cast on my wrist for 4 weeks, and then 6 months of rehabiliation. Yikes! What do you know about this ?
Avatar m tn Blood work for arthritis is to find out what your inflammation markers are. This is usually to test for inflammatory autoimmune arthritic conditions like rheumatoid arthritis. It does not mean that you do not have any other type of arthritis. The most common one is osteoarthritis. The symptoms that you are experiencing in your shoulders and arms, may be due to changes in the rotator cuff itself, or referred problems from the bones in your neck (cervical area).

475586 tn?1225027354 The question that a lot of people have at this point is why one person can be affected by their mercury fillings while another person is not. The answer is relatively simple: it has to do with one's genetic make-up. Some people are just predisposed to mercury sensitivity. It seems that you and I are two of those people. My mother is also suffering from mercury toxicity.
Avatar n tn This is really illuminating to find so many others suffering almost identical symptoms. I am a 58 year old male pretty fit and in generally good health. My problem is the intense tearing pain I get in my right knee when I bend at a certain angle and at a certain time. I can't define either because it's so uncertain. I can do situps now with no problem. We all seem to refer to this pain as a tearing pain as it feels like a wound that has been stiched together is tearing apart.
438383 tn?1204667562 cause) or it could be from muscle spasms, or it could be from overused muscles trying to compensate for the muscles that aren't working due to the nerve damage, and on a related note--it could be caused by mechanical issues, in that a physiological imbalance is causing the pain. In other words, if one side (for example) is affected more than the other side, then you have a mechanical imbalance.
447130 tn?1225474466 I know someone who was very depressed in their bipolar cycle & has recenlty been traumatized, then had a complete meltdown which the docs called a Psychotic Break? They are hospitalized for being a danger to themselves & others. I don't have much more info than that. What does this mean? Is it temporary? How long can it last & does anyone know how long you can be held by law? Or is that a state by state issue? Thanks for your help.
1852058 tn?1320162300 Gemini, since the symptoms of Fibro and Lymes are exactly alike AND Fibro has no explanation for it happening AND Lymes is caused by a bacteria that is KNOWN, would it not be conceivable you have been missdiagnosed since the proper tests were not done on you? That "worst flu you ever had" is a bacterial sign and reactivation of latent viruses, ie: Cytomegalo virus, EBV, or HHV6 and HSV1 or HSV 2.
Avatar f tn changes does not always show right away in your blood samples. sometimes it needs mire time to show or your thyroid will solve that by herself also with time. she is unpredictable! i would look for the best endocrinogist in my zone. he will know what is going on speacially in relation to lupus. please take care with your blood preassure, since that too is a symptom of hiperthyroidsm. I am not a Dr. i am a patient myself.
1322693 tn?1308157496 Is it "Chiari" normal to have an issue not being able to handle the cold? I went with my family on Sunday to innertube down the river. It was a very warm sunny day. I soon realized that everytime I was spashed with water I got goosebumbs over every inch of my body and shivered so bad. I looked like I was having convulsions. I was miserable the whole time. You cant avoid getting wet while floating the river and going through rapids.

Avatar f tn There are several different types of spinal injections that can help with the pain caused by osteoarthritis and I would encourage you to explore treatment options with your physician. Very minimal and minimal could be terms defined by the amount of bulge present usually measured in mm. Very minimal would have the smallest bulge range and minimal is the next tier up in measurements of the bulge in mm. Hope that makes sense. Wishing you more days with less pain. Take care.
Avatar f tn Morphine did not give me good relief and it also caused me terrible headaches. And the oxycontin is also a good option if you're at higher doses of the oxycodone; it also doesn't have the Tylenol in it. There's a lot of choices for pain relief but everyone is different. What works for one won't work for another. I would say be careful about taking any increase in your dose without talking with your doctor.

15695260 tn?1549596713 Towards the very bottom of my list is color. Most styles of shoes come in a variety of colors, and I usually go with what is cheapest, although I tend to like very brightly colored running shoes for visibility reasons. There are certain colors (tan/beige/completely black) that just don't fit with what I like and I'll avoid, even if they are super cheap.

Avatar n tn The main thing to be learned from your test results is that your testing is inadequate. TSH is a pituitary hormone that is affected by so many variables that at best it is only an indicator to be considered along with more important indicators such as symptoms, and also levels of the biologically active thyroid hormones, Free T3 and Free T4. Of these Free T3 is the most important because it largely regulates metabolism and many other body functions.
Avatar n tn Pain worse when sitting or lying down and feels better with movement is usually caused by ankylosing spondylitis. This is a genetic condition. Medicines, physiotherapy, exercises and drugs to suppress immunity are the mainstay of treatment. A back pain or a referred pain due to a nerve pinched that is worse on lying down or felt mainly on lying down can also be due to a tumor within the spinal cord. A neurological examination can pinpoint the site. A CT scan or a MRI will be surely required.
Avatar n tn Hi, A history of back pain and the present symptoms of pain in the thigh may be caused by the affection of a nerve root. A herniated intervertebral disk, with or without degenerative spinal disease, is the most common cause of a root disorder. Bone changes in RA or osteoarthritis, especially in the cervical and lumbar regions, may compress isolated nerve roots. Less commonly, chronic meningitis, especially carcinomatous meningitis, produces patchy multiple root dysfunction.
