748543 tn?1463449675 For the past few weeks I have been throwing around ideas as to the best way to respond to this matter. You see a recent article ( Feb.3 , 2009 NY times) titled "Best treatment for TMJ May be Nothing" nearly made me clench my jaw to pieces. While well written, I found that the author, Ms. Brody, relied heavily on out dated and narrow perspective supplied to her by a small group of dentists.

Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with buldging L3 - L5 disks with a bone spur. I also have osteoarthritis in back and both hips. I was diagnosed by an Orthopaedic Surgeon who specializes in spinal treatments. I began an excercise routine and found the pain too great to excercise. I have had MRI w/contrast and spinal X-rays. I was told to start with steroid epidural shots to the L4-L5 area. I have had first shot.
Avatar f tn I was there for fatigue and a sore joints in my hands, along with nodules that have suddenly appeared on my joints. I'm 37. He thought it was osteoarthritis and said there's no way it's RA. He looked at the clock and said "I have 15 minutes, I don't' know what you're trying to accomplish here". I told him I had a history of Grave's Disease and since it's autoimmune does he think it could be the beginning's of RA and maybe that would explain the fatigue?

Avatar f tn Synvisc is not a drug to relieve pain, it will take time in acting as this is one of the hyaluronates used in viscosupplementation. Synvisc is a treatment for osteoarthritis which is injected directly into the knee joint. Take care!
Avatar f tn As for what I DO have - well, I have been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis/Degenerative Disk Disease, Vitiligo and at one time, Carcinoma In Situ of the Cervix, but have been fine ever since Leep Surgery. SO, that's it. Vitiligo is an autoimmune disorder, so I assume I have the generalized autoimmune thing going on and am susceptible to other AI disorders as well. My Chiropractor has two done full evaluations on me, one in 04 and the other in 07.
1840891 tn?1431551393 I've had autoimmune arthritis for decades now, but in just the last year I've also developed osteoarthritis in both thumbs. It's very painful and quite debilitating. I complained to my PCP about how I couldn't take NSAID's, and she suggested I try Voltaren gel, a topically applied NSAID. She said if used as directed only very minute amounts would be absorbed into the general circulation. I googled the drug and immediately found an alarming FDA safety report at http://www.fda.

544292 tn?1268886268 Went on to say that it had been used in Europe for a couple years and only 4 )if I recall correctly) caabuse/dependence had occured. We thought it was great... we often DID have to detox people from opiates who had genuine pain. Great that at least we could do something about the pain while we tried to get them through withdrawal. Second day after we had been giving a couple folks ultram, started noticing that nurses didn't need to go find patients when time for their next dose of ultram...
Avatar n tn On the other hand, if it's not in good shape, you might want to formulate a treatment plan soon. As far as treatment is concerned, some of the drug companies have financial assistance programs. Also, many of the larger teaching hospitals run trials where they pay for the cost of your treatment. But your first step is to find out what is going on with your hep c and the rest of your health problems. Once you know that, you can make a more informed decision how to proceed.
Avatar f tn Hello folks, I am somewhat surprised to find myself talking on a bulletin board about being an oxycontin addict, but oh well. I have some chronic knee osteoarthritis. I was reading an article on it, last year, when up popped an ad talking about an osteoarthritis clinical trial. I clicked on it, took the survey, and ended up getting enrolled.
931217 tn?1283484935 In the United States, the uterus is typically removed along with the ovaries in females, and virtually all dogs and cats are spayed or castrated. In Europe and some other parts of the world neutering is far less common, and when females are spayed only the ovaries are usually removed. The primary purpose of neutering is to prevent reproduction, but like most medical interventions the procedure has a variety of other effects, both beneficial and undesirable.

Fibro is in a mild state but a couple years ago when I moved here it was horrible and I was unable to get out of bed. Before that I was in Seattle WA. There I didn't know I had Fibro and just thought it was the flu. I could still get out everyday. I thought about trying New Mexico.
