When the pain comes, I have a swelling on the outside of the knee joint about the size of half a golf ball. When I rest the swelling and pain go away within 10 or 20 minutes. This doesn't sound like arthritis to me. A two-fold question, would these symptoms be consistent with AO? Or do these symptoms sound more like damage to the meniscus? Also...

A neurosurgeon can possible take the pressure off the nerve root, but cervical spine surgery is extreamly risky and you WILL still be in pain. I'm sorry Honey, but most likely, you will be in pain for the rest of your life. Do what I did, find a surgeon and weigh the risks. Only you can make this decesion.

X-Rays followed shortly after and confirmed osteoarthritis and bone spurs but obvious evidence of metastic cancer. TRUS needle biopsy with 7 cores produced the Gleason Score of 9. I dont feel I can even get a second opinion because the insurance company is the bigger problem.
