Osteoarthritis knee x ray

Common Questions and Answers about Osteoarthritis knee x ray

osteoarthritis

Avatar f tn No methods of therapy or NSAIDS seems to help. No diagnosis. i just did this x ray. It looks like narrowing of the patellafemoral space. Is this correct? Thank you for any advice.
Avatar m tn The best treatment, presently for Osteoarthritis , is Total knee replacement. Can you upload her knee X-rays on the photo section, so that i will be able to comment on that.
Avatar n tn ve had chronic knee problems, but an X-ray tells you next to nothing except possible osteoarthritis. An MRI tells you a lot more. But I doubt a general doc can read them very well, you'd have to see an orthpedic surgeon to get a better reading of it and they also know better how to test your range of motion to see what's up.
Avatar m tn Does Orthovisc injection alter, affect the way X-rays show the knee? will it make a "non-clean, correct" picture...Scheduled for 1st shot on Friday with X-rays and new Dr. consulation on 2-8-11.
Avatar f tn I have now had it for two months and today i cant even put weight on it and my other knee hurts too. I had x ray on them and it showing hardening and narrowing of the bones, my GP said this is common on xrays of elderly people not people my age and does not know the cause and referred me to specialist.
Avatar m tn Well, it could or could not be. :>) An X ray is an important part of diagnosing this. You need to see a doctor who will do a physical exam, take a medical history and take x rays. Know that osteoarthritis of the knee does not usually start suddenly but builds gradually over years. You often would have swelling in the area too. Activity makes it flair or sitting for long periods until it is progressed to the point of constant pain. This doesn't exactly sound like you.
1091980 tn?1295541431 As she has said nothing to me I presume these are all negative. Apart from my thumb which is grade 2 osteoarthritis. (x ray 6 months ago-no obvious sign of arthritis) the aching elsewhere went away. However I have noticed that my other thumb is beginning to ache slightly. I put this down to using this instead of the injured hand. I have noticed that my knees are making strange noises, like squeeking, especially climbing stairs. My questiond are- Does osteoarthritis affects several areas?
587778 tn?1261397118 My doctor sent me for an X-ray and it reveal mild osteoarthritis. Well, in the last week, the are between my patella and thigh began to hurt badly, along the outside of my knee hurts all the way up into my thigh, on the inside the tenderness has progressed, also on the inside of my knee midway up my inner thigh I have a severe line of pain that I can also palpate. My knee and thigh are noticeably larger than the other other one. I am in so much pain.
1175033 tn?1492201228 I am 26 and have had joint degeneration in the facets of my cervical spine that has been visible on x-ray since I was 19. I just recently found out about this when I got another x-ray done, and the findings stated it was compared to an x-ray from 2002 which showed degeneration. Why didnt any one tell me? My doctors just said my x-rays were normal, but how can this be normal for someone that was 19 at the time?
Avatar m tn I have pain in the right knee for two years now. X-rays show lack of fluid in the knee. Thus giving lot of pain. I have tried all sorts of therapies, but to no effect. I am now thinking of either get a shot or replace the knees. The left knee is also on the brink. I have to use pain killers. Please advise about taking a shot if I should take a shot of Synvisc-One. This discussion is related to Changing from Supartz to Synvisc-One shots.
Avatar f tn I have been to an Orthopedic and have had x-rays and MRI. Nothing specific was noted in the x-ray and scan. The Dr suggested orthoscopic surgery to see what he might be able to do. I have not had the surgery. He also suggested I may have osteoarthritis. The pain will come with walking, sometimes very quickly and sometimes not much at all. When the pain comes, I have a swelling on the outside of the knee joint about the size of half a golf ball.
Avatar n tn Is the symptoms have been more prominent in the morning, when you put your first step out to work? Take an X ray and if symptoms mimic osteoarthritis then take some pain killers like ibuprofen and glucosamine for better joint lubrication.
Avatar m tn Dr, Sharma Should i be working out with all of these problems. How about Physical Therapy. Low impact aquatic Therapy. It feels wonderful. I feel this help. Thank You.
Avatar n tn Thank you for replying to my post... I will be going to the doctor this week... I am rather afraid to continue with pt because I feel that it made it worse...
Avatar f tn However because both of your knees are painful an inflammatory condition such as arthritis should be ruled out. This can be done with a simple x-ray and maybe some a lab work to rule out something like rheumatoid arthritis. In the meantime you may want to rotate heat and ice on your knees. Ask your pharmacist about an OTC NSADI. A little treatment may bring you some comfort until you can see your PCP.
Avatar f tn hi Thanks i will try all that stuff as it is really sore, The reason im worried is because there has never been any injury to the knee its just appeared, My Gp said my x ray is baffling as it is showing things that would appear in an elderly persons x ray not a girl in her early twenties.
Avatar n tn ve also had a blood test taken to determine if Osteoarthritis was the cause. However, the test turned out negative for Osteoarthritis. I had an X ray done as well which did not reveal anything significant. However, the Orthopaedic did an Ultrasound and found tt it was Patella Tedonosis which I did not think was the case. In fact, another Orthopaedic (private) diagnosed me as having CMP with bilateral knee effusion. What do u make of both diagnosis? Which is more accurate?
Avatar f tn The first thing you should do is get a present day X-ray scans of your knees and confirm progressive osteoarthritis and ligament damage in both legs. Talk with an expert orthopedician who is involved for more than 10 years in knee replacement surgeries. There is no reason to fear and get ready for intense physiotherapy. Start having proper diet and take the help of a counselor and build enough courage to take it forward.
Avatar n tn In 2006 my right knee started hurting. I finally went to see an Orthopedic doctor. After an x-ray and feeling the top of my knee he said "You have Osteoarthritis in your knee. It is definately not RA." Well just a couple of months ago my other knee started with the same problems. Just pain mostly. Then about 2 weeks ago I noticed my elbows were hurting. No swelling, but they get painful as they are today. Sometimes a couple of fingers hurt.
Avatar n tn When the snow finally stopped and I was still sore and my knee was hurting going up the stairs, I knew it was time to see the Dr. again. He x ray ed it and said it showed some signs of change of the arthritis. I was never told I had it in my knee, only my toe. He did a blood test and I called to get the results. She told me it was 1 over 40. Now all the stuff I have seen on line give 1 number not 2. I need a new dr. I am very unhappy with this one. Any thoughts? Help!
