Avatar f tn I do not experience any grinding, locking, catching or giving way of the knee. There are no positions that make my knee uncomfortable other then putting my weight on it while kneeling. It feels totally normal otherwise. The pain is as if I knelt on a sharp rock or tack or even as if my bone is splintered. It began a couple of weeks ago while kneeling. I have not tried anything to help the pain other then not kneeling on it. Never had surgery. No hip pain or ankle pain.
Avatar n tn I had the scope because of osteoarthritis of the knee with severe osteoarthritis of the patellofemoral joint and was hoping the surgery would buy me a few more years to work. This was a big mistake because I am in more pain now than before the surgery.

Other dietary supplements, such as fish oils, also show some evidence of benefit, although more research is needed. Herbal Remedies It has been difficult to draw conclusions about the effectiveness of herbs.
Avatar f tn They are formed on each side from elements of the lumbar nerve roots, and runs beneath the piriformis region in the pelvis, exiting the pelvis at the greater sciatic foramen, where it runs down the back of the thigh to an area just above the knee. Here it divides into the tibial and fibular nerves. This is why sciatic pain is often felt in many areas -- the lower back, the buttocks and groin, the back of the leg, and the knee.

Avatar f tn Yes, it's a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory. Under indications, it says: "for the control of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis in dogs." Good luck! I know I hate to see any of my 4 pups in pain!
Avatar m tn I'm pretty sure it's a mixture of really needing it, and liking the way it makes me feel. Plus the fact that your body gets used to it. I had a two partial knee replacements, and one total within three years. The total was June 25, 2012. I have osteoarthritis in my right shoulder now, and other joints are getting there. I have lymphedema in one leg and my legs swell and hurt very much when I work, which I don't have much choice about at the moment.

Avatar m tn A personal experience concerning the treatment of trochanteric bursitis (corticosteroid shots, surgery, success rates of either of these). 2. Home remedies, alternative medicine remedies. 3. Cost of procedures, with or without health insurance. As I side note, I am fully aware that this research does not constitute a diagnosis. Many thanks to Tuckamore and anyone else for their help thus far.

Avatar n tn I have always had some odd symtoms like an arm that goes numb, numbness in my knee here and there, and some other stuff. I have had tests for MS more than once. I don't think it's that but maybe some other type. I feel like the surgery was a major assault on my body and just sort of turned on the switch to have my body attack me. Perhaps doing a week of steroids might help.
Avatar m tn I spend a good 20 minutes stretching, most of the time while still laying down, which alleviates some of the stiffness, but the pain doesn't really become tolerable until about halfway through the day. I tried home remedies such as massaging, aspercreme, sitting in a jacuzzi, Ibuprofen, anything I could think of really. I went to the doctor a week ago, hoping he could give me some answers, but he kind of brushed it off as standard muscle pains and gave me more Ibuprofen, for my swollen thumb.
Avatar n tn The first occurrence was in my right knee. If I bent my knee near its maximum extent (such as when kneeling, crouching or climbing into bed), I experienced an incredibly painful tearing/burning sensation in the area of my patellar tendon. I would immediately react and straighten my knee and the pain would completely dissipate within several minutes. Afterward the area would feel about 50% numb, as if injected with a mild local anesthetic that was slowly wearing off, for several hours.
Avatar m tn I've been taking tylenol and it helps a little, but not much. I take clonodine also. All started with knee injuries, years ago and progressive osteoarthritis. My dad died at 80 with a blood clot in his leg and severe pain in knees, shoulders, etc. He hurt for a long time and endured and took Vicodin for a few years before he died. He was not an addict, though. He was a good, strong man. I'm 54 tomorrow. What I should do? Suffer till it gets better? Will it?

Avatar dr m tn I'm not speaking from experience from back surgery, but I've had 2 hips and 1 knee replaced and shoulder surgery. The knee is doing well just with occasional pain. At first, of course, they give you the heavy hitters and then they weaned me off and put me on Celebrex. I still have chronic OA in the other joints in my body. My left knee is going to need to be replaced but I'm holding off as long as possible. Back to the Celebrex, it really isn't working for me at all.
Avatar n tn I have had arthroscopy surgery on my left knee and was scheduled for the same on the right knee this past summer. I have tried the glucosamine/condroiden/msm stuff with little help. The knee surgery heped somewhat but didn't give me the results I had hoped for. About 8 months ago I tried a product called Celadrin made by a company called Inflame Away.
Avatar n tn I was on accutane for 4 months and I had no problem with joint pain while on it, and now 1.5 years has past and I have extremely weak joints. I have wrist pain and knee pain. Although I has pre condition with my knees in regards to misaligned tibia, but before accutane I had no pain and now I do I cant even have a job which I have to stand up for a long time. I know how desperate people with acne are for a cure, because I was one of them, but this drug is not worth it.
Avatar n tn for the past 6 months I have been getting progressivly worse and have constant pain in my lower left back, down the left leg to the knee with stabbing and burning sensations that never end. Avatar n tn Have anyone imaged (MRI) your back? I would get another neuro opinion.
Avatar n tn massage, chiropractor, vitamin therapy and every pill u can think of...rx or OTC. Even a few old wives remedies. The drug abusers of the world habeas ruined everything. I also tried a pain clinic that i drove an hour to Batesville, AR and was treated so rudely by that Dr. I don't know how she keeps patients. Actually, I do know....we are so desperate for pain relief that we have to suck it up and they can treat us anyway they want because it is the only way to get any help....
