Avatar f tn You probably have the onset of osteoarthritis which usually is first noticed in the hip, especially when lying on it in bed.
1175033 tn?1492201228 s daughters had the hip deformity from birth as well, and spent much of her babyhood in a huge cast. She took ballet which I think helped stave off the inevitable, but she too will eventually need implants. It's very possible that your hip deformity is the source of your other aches and pains. It throws off your gait and your spinal alignment, causing pain and stress in other parts of your body. Ask for a referral to a pain management specialist.
1378884 tn?1315505845 Over the three years before I had the other hip replaced, I developed problems in my left foot, opposite knee, and lower back. Having said that, RA can have many different triggers. A common infection can trigger the immune system to start attacking the body - no one knows why. Stress or an injury, basically anything that prompts an immune system response can potentially trigger RA or another autoimmune disease. It can run in families, or appear apparently out of nowhere.
Avatar f tn I am a 31 yo female wo has been experiencing very sharp pain in my left groin / inner hip for 4 months. The pain occurs when I turn my hip inward and it limits my movement. Recently, I have also developed a tingling sensation in my left foot. Not sure if these two are related or not. I had a pelvic MRI 17 months ago for a lump in my left pelvis, which turned out to be nothing. Would the MRI have picked up anything serious in the hip area?
Avatar f tn Since high school, after running track for 4 yrs, (7 yrs ago) I hav had knee pain. In the last couple of years it has gotten worse, radiating to my hip. It happens when I've been standing or walking too long, or if I'm cold. Could this be a trauma induced osteoarthritis?
Avatar n tn I have had pain in my hips and knees for the past three years i thought i was just overdoing it with walking etc and would stop for a while and start again but in the past three months iv been in terrible pain and had to take pain killers every day i went to my Doctor and he said it probably was osteoarthritis and you can expect that as you get older im a 49 year old female, i was not happy to think that was all i could do put up with it as im a very active person and i found that if i walked i
Avatar f tn I'm sorry I didn't see your post sooner. I join in welcoming you to our Forum! :) You're definitely in the right place. I'm so sorry to hear of the pain you are in. I can definitely relate to what you are experiencing. Being one that also uses a cane or a walker I understand exactly what you're saying. Have you had them x-ray your hips to check for arthritis?
Avatar m tn I also have degeneration in the lower spine and in the neck. and osteoarthritis in both knees, but my right leg is worst. Osteoarthritis in other joints too (fingers and feet). The more I stand and walk about the worse it gets. I also get the pain in the lower belly as if things are pulling down. The pain radiates down through both legs. Doc says this is reffered pain from my back.
Avatar f tn What would cause a sudden loss of feeling in both legs? Has happened twice, once in 2008, and yesterday. Comes on in a split second, long enough to fall down, and feeling comes back almost instantly. Afterwards, my back muscles have a somewhat shaky or weak feeling for a few hours. Have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis, spinal stenosis, and degenerative disc disease.
1378884 tn?1315505845 Dull pain along with sharp pain depending on how I move. Pain in inner groin/hip area. Hip occasionally locks up on me when I stand up from a sitting position. I just finally recieved the results from the MRI with Contrast a year after the initial injury. I was also diagnosed two years ago with Hashimotos and I do have issues with arthritis although still trying to get a handle on it as I speak. Here is the report: Indication: R hip pain, question labral tear.
634723 tn?1222677500 My wife (age 36) has pain in her hip area and lower back that also shoots down her leg and groin. She has the harrington rod in her back as well. This seems to get really bad when its cold and rainy any idea what this could be?
Avatar n tn congenital hip dislocation, plan to operation, but patients did not agree. Clinical examination: lumbar spine right convex, excessive lordosis, straight legs bending test, hand fingertip 5 cm from the ground, straight leg extension waist test was negative, straight-leg raising test negative. X-ray left congenital hip dislocation, highly sensitive point of tenderness in the left buttock and thigh roots .
Avatar m tn I started experiencing pain in the soft tissue of my right hip. I returned to my orthopedic surgeon for diagnosis. Xrays confirmed the hip was good, to be sure a bone scan was ordered, it also showed that everything appeared normal. I was referred to a pain management clinic, where I received a trigger injection into the soft tissue, no help. I then was given a diagnostic local nerve block of my L1 and L2, still no help.
Avatar f tn I take it 3 or 4 times daily. I have severe osteoarthritis and need a total right hip replacement. I had a total left hip replacement 3 months ago.
1021831 tn?1331605848 Hello.I'm 59 have M.S, (diagnosed in 1978) have both hip replacements, 2000 & 2005, osteoarthritis and 0n Jan. 08 2012 , lost my balance and fell on my butt on the bathroom ceramice floor, had x-reys 3 days later, showed nothing cracked or broken (was concerened about the hip repl, (thought I may have cracked or broke one) bit boy did it hurt.
1532491 tn?1294594944 I had always thought it was weird how much my knees and wrist crack. But now my back and hip crack a lot too. And some days ill get the worst pain in all of those joints. Do you think it could be something bad? Please help. P.s. I dont purposely crack them. I just move and they crack. And the hip cracking, is that weird? Ive never heard of it before (i also have a problem with cracking my fingers and neck a lot and those hurt sometimes too.) P.P.S whenever i move some of my joints crack.
Avatar n tn He sent for a course of Physiotherapy which I attended for 6months. In the end I stopped going because after the initial mild improvement in pain there was no further improvement. I am taking 1500mg Glucosamine Sulphate + 1200mg Marine Chondroitin + 1000mg Omega 3 fish oil daily. Despite this the symptoms have now spread to my right hip, right shoulder and slight symptoms in my right knee. I get some relief from taking 400mg of Ibuprofen at night so I can sleep.
Avatar f tn I have been experiencing numbness in my left hip. It started after I had an unusually long sleep and I woke up laying on my left side with numbness and pain in my left hip/thigh. This was 2 weeks ago. Ever since then I have been trying to avoid laying on my left side and it seems to help. However after I move in my sleep to my left side, I will wake up hours later in pain.
1131208 tn?1260207946 During that 8 months I started experiencing tremendous pain in my right hip. Originally it was diagnosed as trochanteric bursitis. I had a steroid injection and that didn't help the pain. I then had an MRI and it was determined that I had the beginnings of AVN in that hip which was more than likely caused by about 10 years of oral steroids for asthma when I was younger. Anywho...
Avatar f tn I am 23 years old, 5"9 145lbs, Caucasian/South Asian Male I was diagnosed with having level 4 stress fractures in both of my femoral necks and level 2 stress fractures in each of my ankles, in November of 2016, I was near the end of basic training and due to what I'm assuming was these sprint exercises we did on the track, followed by shuttle sprints and then an 8 mile ruck ended up hurting me pretty bad.
Avatar n tn The acute pain has sort of disappeared and now it is a more subtle pain that is located more in the groin area of the hip. I take baby steps and have limited mobility in my right hip and feel a stiffness in my lower back as well. It has really slowed me down and I'm totally depressed because I don't want to live with this pain. I do take either meloxipam or ibuprofen (trying to figure out which works best). Either one helps just a little, but not as much as I would hope.
1388332 tn?1285346447 Have you checked with your Doctor at all concerning this pain in your Hip? You might be encountering the beginnings of Osteoarthritis in your Hip Joint. I've lived with that for the past 36 years. I've had 2 hip implants and I'm getting ready for a third in September.
1110049 tn?1409402144 Now told I have osteoarthritis in spine. Had no back pain, only the hip pain. Presume this is what is known as referred pain, but I must admit I am bemused. Does glucosamine or any other supplement help with arthritis in spine? I am 69 yrs old, so know it is due to wear and tear.
Avatar f tn I would say the osteo led to bursitis - they often go hand in hand. Inflammation in the hip joint can, in turn, irritate the surrounding nerves, which could be causing the burning sensation down the front of your thighs. Speaking of hands (sorry!) try sleeping with a wrist brace or other device that prevents you from curling/clenching your hands while you sleep.
Avatar f tn Guess it depends on which nerve is being compromised. Hip Dr. says no problem with implant. Back Dr. says mild disc bulge with osteoarthritis in facet joints in lumbar spine, but not enough to cause this much pain. Tried PT, three sessions about crippled me. Now going to Chiropractor who is doing a combo of adjustments, acupuncture, plant based injections, ultra sound, etc. Still in pain, but hoping this will work.
