Avatar n tn Patients who have degenerative disease of the spine can also have this problem in other joints, such as the hip, and this could also be a cause for your symptoms. Hip osteoarthritis manifests as hip pain, sometimes with limitation in the rage of motion. Other inflammatory conditions can affect the hip and produce similar symptoms, and this should be evaluated.
Avatar f tn I was adopted when I was 6 months old in January, 1947. My diagnosis of Osteoarthritis in my left Hip happened when I was 28 years old and by the extent of the damage my Doctors estimated that I'd probably had the arthritis since I was at LEAST 15 years old.
7469840 tn?1409849436 Early menopause, drinking alcohol, steroids, age, diet, genetics, activity level, etc. can all contribute to Osteoporosis. My suggestion would be to see an Endocrinologist and have him/her manage the Osteoporosis. When my orthopedic doctor noticed my spine was demineralizing, he told me to call an endocrinologist and make an appt. to see him. He gave me his name and I made an appt. This definitely one of the best things I have ever done.

Avatar f tn I have osteoarthritis in both my hands and my right hip. I have a really strong family history of it on both sides. My mother suffered terribly with it and had lots of injections and was on Vicodin fairly regularly the last few years of her life. On my dad's side, two of his sisters were crippled with it; one used metal crutches for as long as I can remember and the other used a cane. About six or seven years ago I ended up having more and more pain in my hands.
469901 tn?1276567223 L8, I have a tricky right hip, I can't bend over without it going out, my ankles and heels have decided to join in on the destruction and now I have these hard, hot nodules on them. I have funky fevers that seem to flow with the flare ups and rashes that make me very self-concious. When I am able, I love doing just normal stuff. Many people take for granted the normal things in life and those of us with arthritis find everyday things a challenge.
Avatar f tn Could this be osteoarthritis? Or Ra? I have been taking anti-inflammatories and I seem to respond well. In other words it takes away any pain. I am planning on seeing a rheumatologist soon. Please advise! Thank you!
15695260 tn?1549596713 It's hard to offer running shoe advice because everyone's feet (and legs and hips, and how they walk and run) are different, and what works well for one person might not work well for someone else. As someone who has consistently run about 30 to 50 miles a week for the past 17-18 years (recently it is 60 miles plus for marathon training), I have gone through a lot of running shoes.
691233 tn?1228734020 Sometimes I can't step down without a sharp pain in my lower back. I get hip pain sometimes as well. My mother and uncle have severe spine problems as well. Here are my questions: Can this be genetic? What is wrong with me and what can be done about it? I am looking for something more permanent than all these temporary fixes that hardly work and only last 1-3 days if that. My quality of life is in the toilet. I can't lift or bend without paying a steep price for the next few days.
931217 tn?1283484935 [83,84] Hip dysplasia is a developmental abnormality of the hip joint that can result in arthritis and clinical discomfort. It is rare in small breeds, with rates of affected dogs less than 1%, but it can be seen in as many as 40%-75% of large breed dogs.
Avatar n tn bone spurs, calcification, slippage of one disc. Easy for the doc to blame my sx on osteoarthritis, but the microtrauma that led to this didn’t happen overnight, & it just doesn’t seem to correlate with the intensification of the sx. Still on the hunt for answers, & I admire your quest for them DD, have read many posts here with my ears pricked. I was struck by nygirl’s description of muscle tightness, & that has been what's puzzled me the most.
Avatar n tn Fatigue comes and goes in intensity, but overall awful. Finally, years ago diagnosed w/osteoarthritis in hip. Now experience constant pain in hip, knees, right shoulder and occasionally jaw, wrists, knuckes. Vision seems blurred, even with glasses - tho' usually if I concentrate can focus.
552681 tn?1215136132 On October 28, 2008, I fell on concrete on my job and hit my head, neck shoulders on the refrigerator in our community center and landed on my left hip. I just got an MRI which c3-c4 broad-based disc bulge, c4-c5 right paracentral disc protrustion and proliferative cahnge. The foramina are patent. C7-T1 there is a mild bulge. There is limitation due to motion artifact. Please explain. I take medication which makes me drowsey and I can not take it at work only in the evenings.
Avatar n tn I have bulging discs and osteoarthritis and the avascular necrosis. The hip pain has been the worst of what I have experienced. The Dr's tell me having my hips replaced will cure most of the pain. I am now bone on bone , no cartiledge with cysts. I am just worried I have waited too long as now I have lost my muscle tone am not able to exercise at all now, sleeping more than an hour or so at a time is not possible most nights. My legs have a weird feeling now are numb and my feet and tingle.
Avatar n tn Im been testet and teastet by the doctors, but im perfectly healthy if you can put it that way. A few years ago i was in an accedent where i destroied my hip. It was very very stressful as i lost my job and all. 3month ago i broke up with my boyfriend and he moved out. Bla bla bla, but all this coust stress and hormon differences. The docters say i suffer from servere stress and they say it normal that your hair fall out 2-3 month after the "thing" that coust the stress.
Avatar n tn I get the same thing. I have had it for months on and of. I have a lump constanly in the crease of my finger. If I go climbing or carry shopping bags its really painful. So I try to be careful not to put pressure on it to stop the "pop" which is even more excrutiating. Hope someone out there can help.
Avatar f tn The fact that she has it has me wondering if now it could be genetics. There are so many questions that i would like answered like why only certain areas of the arm are itchy, why is it seasonal, and so on and so on. I was prescribed some sort of sleeping pill by my regular doctor but it did nothing but make me groggy so i stopped taking them because i felt so awful in the morning. I think that it def is Brachioradial pruritis it just seems to make sense.
Avatar n tn As a 34-year old mother of 3 with osteoarthritis in both hips, the lower back and left knee, along with mood swings out of control, this drug has done wonders! The best part is that there is no weight gain side effect. In fact, I've started to lose weight again. I also started kickboxing around the same time and it has helped with the mobility of my hips, as well as helping me feel more energetic. I actually enjoy exercising and find myself working out at least 5-6 days a week now.
