Avatar n tn Thats the old guidelines. Canada has the same guidelines as the US. 3 months post exposure to get a conclusive negative result.
6708370 tn?1471490210 Australian researchers reviewed three randomized trials that compared acetaminophen with a placebo for the relief of spinal pain, and 10 trials that compared their use for easing the pain of osteoarthritis. All together, the analysis included 5,366 patients. Acetaminophen was given orally in doses between 3,000 and 4,000 milligrams a day, except for one study in which a dose of 1,000 milligrams was administered intravenously.
Avatar n tn It was most likely a combo test since that is the standard test given in Canada (I live in Canada) All blood tests in Canada are 4th gen and only rapid tests are 3rd gen. I confirmed this with an HIV clinic. Remote areas might not use the 4th gen but in Ontario I would definitely say it was a 4th gen. Your results are conclusive. 12 months is only if you are using antibody only testing. I highly suspect you had a duo/combo test.
Avatar f tn Hands are so painful and some fingers distorted, feel broke. Was told just a bad case of osteoarthritis. I can't even make a fist, my fingers don't bend. They get worse every year. Why can't I take meds for rheumatoid,,why do I have to have joint damage. 2rheumatologist told me that the meds aren't made for my kind of arthritis. Do you have to have the factor in order to be diagnosed with rh. My hands resemble rh hands. What's going on.?
Avatar n tn In Canada the guidelines are 3 months to obtain a conclusive test result. Same as with the US..
Avatar f tn Hi there! I was diagnosed about 6 months ago with osteoarthritis in my L4/5 and was told it was a moderate case by my GP. I've had back pain going back 10yrs, but they just figured it out recently. My problem is that my doctor is refusing to do pain control even with my CT and Xrays showing up postive. I've told her I'm looking for pain relief and not to get high.
1266954 tn?1270217525 For the past years, I have been taking 3-4 7.5/325 Vicodin per day for "total body osteoarthritis". I have tried NSAIDS, aspirin, and Ultram without any relief. Also, because of a previous HA, I want to avoid NSAIDS. When Vicodin was changed from Schedule III to II this year, my GP became more reluctant to continue my 3-4 pill per day "habit" due to regulatory pressure to wean patients completely off opiods of any strength.
1454376 tn?1285302334 Each countries has there own specific guidelines inregards to testings, Obviously those who devised and approved these guidelines have enough data to support their recommendations. I'm not here to say / judge one's guidelines compared to others. Ok, If someone calculates 3 months as 84 days versus 90 days, does that mean that his calculation is right and conclusive compare to the other one? If someone is ok with the 84 days result what about a negative in 83 days?....
Avatar m tn hello i live in canada and about 10weeks ago i recieved unprotected oral sex (blowjob) from a prostitute and i got tested about 5 or 6 days after contact everything came back negative, but my doctor told me that everything would be conclusive after 5 or 6 days except for syphillis and HIV, syphillis testing at 6 weeks, but i had no painless sores on penis or symptons so i think im good there, and he told me that HIV would be conclusive at 6 months, i have been reading the forums here and everyon
Avatar m tn Canadian testing is NOT any different than that of the US. Canadian government uses the same testing guidelines as the US. The US did use rapid testing before Canada but it is also approved there.
Avatar f tn What is making me very worry is that i saw that in what they called the mistral perform country in give research australia the guidelines is since 5years of 24weeks post pep and I think it is the same in the US and Canada. Did we alteady see somewhere a4th génération test negative a 12weeks become positive later. ? Who is right? AUSnd US guidelines UK or European guigelines ? 12 or24 weeks post pep?
Avatar m tn http://www.sogc.org/guidelines/documents/gui208CPg0806.pdf The link indicates 2 dosages, 400mg taken 3 times per day and 200g taken 4 times per day. My doctor has perscribed 200mg taken 3 times per day - and has indicated that this is a strong enough dosage for me. My question still remains, is a dosage of 200mg taken 2 times per day effective? I have a strong adversion to taking meds of any kind. I get dizzy, light headed, tired, cranky and can taste metal in my mouth.
1554647 tn?1316827220 I just saw your post to another member that answers my questions. I wonder how this plays out in Canada. I think because our healthcare is socialist in nature, it will likely be mandated and policed.
Avatar f tn I feel very confident in this result, I live in a country ( Canada) where healthcare is good but why do some people insist on six months testing? In my case im Tottaly in the clear right? I'm just asking again since my doctor didn't tell me any testing guidelines and some forums say 6 months is conclusive.
Avatar m tn I have osteoarthritis in my neck moderate and mild in lower back. Can and adjusment help? will they even do an adjustment me? i seem to be losing sensativity in my legs but dont know if iy du to oa in back nad neck.any help would be great. thank you.
Avatar n tn I am afraid that I have developed osteoarthritis in my hands, esp. in the thumb joint. I experience pain up to 5 on 1/10 scale, but not swelling. After I ride my bike my hands hurt for several days, maybe the handlebar is too big around. The symptoms developed shortly after I broke my wrist (Collies fracture) two years ago. I realize that if I have this problem it isn't going away. How do I keep the damage to a miminim? I use Ibuprofen for pain with fair results.
513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!

Avatar f tn I have Osteoarthritis and it is getting worse. I taken Celebrex, Norco, Tramadol and Vicopren. None of these are working. I don't have insurance and go to a public health clinic. They don't seem to know what to do. Could you please advise me on what I can take that will help with the chronic pain and will be inexpensive.
Avatar f tn I've had mri's of my spine and shows osteoarthritis with bone spurs in cervical thoracic and lumbar. This was done in 2007 (i was 35), now i have this horrible tendonitis in both wrists and i'm on prednisone. Could this be related to the arthritis? i'm seeing an ortho but he doesn't know about the osteoarthritis (i was just rereading my reports and it jumped out at me). What should i expect with this diagnosis?
Avatar m tn i was also wondering about the osteoarthritis as my dr told me that i have severe degenerative osteoarthritis of the lower spine (I forgot the numbers), hips, left shoulder and both feet. I had major surgery last summer and mesh was used to attach part of my bowel to my spine. My dr figures that this may have jump-started the arthritis issues. Currently i have probs walking, bending and overall it hurts to be on my feet for more than 20 mins at a time.
Avatar m tn / I knew my condition was bad b/c of the amount of pain I am in but wasn't expecting that especially @ 32 with a 4 yr old and 7 month old!! Anyways, he adviced pain meds and synvisc-one injections until we couldn't control the pain enough. I tried the injections. I won't lie the are a bit painful. My right one was just uncomfortable. The left one hurt way worse. I have no idea why but it even swelled up and I had to stay off it about 24 hours b/c of all the fluid on it.
586140 tn?1219078962 Does this mean I have lyme disease? The doc said that they have to run more tests. I live in NW ontario in Canada and my Dr said that there is no lyme here, but the NP that seen the results seem to think I should come back in to see them. I am very confused as the Dr doesn't seem to think this is a big deal, but the NP does. Also, our Health unit this summer said that lyme has been comfirmed in this area and are asking for unusual looking ticks (for us) Does anyone have any ideas for me?
