1390580 tn?1279916889 In addition to this, I have herniated discs in my neck, a bone spur on a disc, and degenerative disc disease (osteoarthritis). Years ago, doctors told me I had fibermyalgia too. I'm only 33. I'm already experienceing dry eyes, dry mouth, joint and muscle pain, and memory problems. What am I to expect and what kind of treatment is there for Sjogrens?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed in 1997 with Fibromyalgia. I also have severe osteoarthritis, especially in both hands. What am I doing wrong? The doctor told me I'm a very strange case. What's that mean? This discussion is related to TSH declining .
Avatar m tn osteoarthritis is a degenerative condition. It is caused by the breakdown of cartilage and is often associated with aging. It can be assisted along the way by injuries. There is no cure for osteoarthritis. Treatments include NSAIDs and pain management, maintaining a normal weight and exercise.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with low vitamin d, and B 12, and have osteoarthritis....havent had a period for about a year...and suffer from joint pain...I AM CONVINCED GLUTEN IS TOXIC TO MY BODY AND MAKING ME SICK...AM I CRAZY?
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with psoriasis last year but I think I've had it for years, then a few months later I was told I had osteoarthritis after seeing a rheumy. I take meds for that and use steriod creams as required for my skin. Now I seem to have many more symptoms. I ache all over sometimes, I seem to be sensitive to the sun as I come out in hives and red blotches. I also have sore eyes and one of them is constantly red. I have been getting sores in my mouth and nose which are sometimes painful.
Avatar f tn Note, you must familiarize yourself with all the foods that contain gluten, should you indeed be gluten intolerant or sensitive. They're plenty which you would NEVER suspect. 2. You may try Dr. Coca's Pulse Test for allergies, sensitivities, intolerance to anything ingested and it will indicate any substance your immune system treats as offensive, including any delayed effects! It is a free download and it is not mainstream at all, but it works!
219241 tn?1413541365 Went to Sydney, stayed two nights, saw Gordon Ramsay, fell down some stairs, starved to death, and my ears wouldn't pop on the plane...ah such joys of the traveller! I am gluten intolerant and you would think a big city like Sydney would have somewhere I could eat, but nah.....mutter, mutter, mutter...had to tell every chef to make me something basically boring, and many of them accepted that, which was nice. The worst thing though is my knee.....man the pain of my knee!
1710955 tn?1309450073 I was dx with hypothyroidism 3 yrs ago, MS last year, and on Monday was dx with osteoarthritis of my left knee and spine, fibro, AND small fiber neuropathy. My neuro is currently running tests to see if there's an underlying cause for the neuropathy. I'm also losing the natural curvature in my neck. It's actually reversing. I'm currently trying to figure out a plan for that. I'm at such a loss for words. I can't help thinking about all of this.
Avatar f tn I read through your earlier post and I agree with the going gluten free. A lot of people with thyroid problems have problems with gluten, Myself included. I am trying to go gluten free but it is hard I love bread :( . I have noticed when I eat sandwiches ect more than twice a week I bloat up very bad. So the gluten free may help you a lot. Also a note on the swelling. I take Cherry extract capsules for inflammation I have osteoarthritis and they work wonderfully for me.
Avatar f tn I add my own welcome to G-grrrl's. Like her, I see you have been through a lot but don't see a clear link between the picture you share and what I know about MS. If your Celiac diagnosis is based on a small bowel biopsy then I wouldn't think there is any question but that it is correct. I hope you haven't given up on the gluten free diet. I know that gluten can "hide" in many places and some people are very sensitive.
Avatar n tn I tested negative for my food sensitivities at the allergist's office, yet I will have undeniable symptoms. Gluten and dairy bind me up something terrible. For someone with IBS prone to diarrhea, gluten and dairy will aggravate the symptoms. This is true, even if allergy tests are negative for gluten and dairy. I also have other food sensitivities.
Avatar f tn I have Osteopenia, Osteoarthritis, Urinary Inc., Diverticulosis, Lactose intolerance, CELIAC DISEASE, GERD, Fatty liver, High blood pressure and Mild Dementia, Asthma, Rhinitis, Skin allergies. Dry Eyes, Anxiety, Panic, Dermatitis seboreic. Toenails fungus. Joints and muscles pain every day. Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) ALERGIC TO ASPIRIN AND CAN'T TAKE NON STEROIDAL ANTIINFLAMATORIES.
Avatar f tn Turns out I have the Celiac Gene (can thank one of my parents for that one) and I have an active gluten intolerance which means my body is having an autoimmune response to gluten. I try to avoid gluten as much as possible because it's just creating more strain on my immune system which is already compromised. Thanks for posting this great information! I am glad you are improving.
Avatar f tn I suffer with fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, regenerative disc disease and a couple of other annoying maladies. Recently I have been experiencing more severe pain which is accompanied by hives. Is this something I need to bring up to my doctors or is it just coincidental?? What could be causing the hives. They itch and the area that hurts gets warm. I'm wondering if one has anything to do with the other?
Avatar n tn They are experienced in all of the auto-immune diseases along with Osteoarthritis and many of the gastrointestinal ones as well. The symptom of yours that stands out to me is the symmetry of your hand problems. Also Osteoarthritis is usually more prevalent in the last joint at the finger tip but I certainly am not a Dr. It is also not usually symmetrical. Take care and let us know.

Avatar n tn I've been on effexor for about 7 years, due to my husbands lung cancer and eventual death 6 years ago. Today my life seems fine, I;m not unhappy, I do have a gluten allergy and severe osteoarthritis and chronic anemia. I have recently decided to go off the Effexor, unfortunately, I didn't think it was going to be that big a deal, but have learned that I should have consulted my doctor before doing so. However, I took my dose of 37.

Avatar f tn I know i have a gluten sensitivty, which i now follow a GF diet and that has helped some, but not all has resolved! I have all the symptoms of Crohn's (arthritis, anemia, loose stools, mouth sores, you get the picture). My doctor refuses to even try anything until i have intestinal damage. How long can all of these other symptoms last before damage begins? I have been in pain and having issues for 2 years.
Avatar f tn As you are suspecting that he's just guessing, this kind of answers the question, so there's a possibility that it could be symptoms of arthritis or something else in addition to arthritis Osteoarthritis (degenerative spinal arthritis I think is part of osteoarthritis)and Rheumatoid Arthritis as well is likely. New FMS dx criteria from the American College of Rheumatology.
Avatar f tn Recently found 2 ticks on my body, but no rash. Have had osteoarthritis for years (or LD) and symstems have gotten worse. Also, a western blot showed 3 of 5 criteria postive for Lyme. Are these results because I still have antibodies of the disease in my blood, or could this be a whole new bout of LD?

Avatar f tn Most hypothyroid sufferers have gluten intolerance and don't even know it! The gluten molecules-mainly from gmo grains- resemble the TPO(Thyroid Peroxidase - an enzyme necessary for the signalling Thyroid hormone production) molecules and thus the immune system in its response against gluten, attacks the TPO in the Thyroid also! You may consider a gluten-free &casein-free diet (GFCF) for a few weeks to see if you experience improvement.
10175413 tn?1427173851 finished one and a quarter years ago and attained SVR but feel like the plug has been pulled on my life and almost getting worse as if something progressive was set in motion by the drugs. 783212 tn?1295031606 My PCP finally heard me say my hip hurts and I limp at times. Xray showed Osteoarthritis. But, she didn't want me to go to a Rheumatologist? My father has rheumatoid arthritis as well as my mother. My Grandmother has had a stroke, my father has had two heart attacks and is not losing to lung cancer. My Auntie has Scleroderma and my brother has Epilepsy. SO, for me to have constant issues with my head and muscles and bones is worrisome.

Avatar f tn ive had spinal ablation for lower back and cervical for degenerative disk disease and osteoarthritis. Im 50 not 90 but feel like I am. They gave me an injection for inflammation a few weeks ago that help with the burning pain I was having all over my body. Thanks again for taking your time to post.
Avatar m tn I eat a gluten free, dairy free, egg free diet, and hardly no insoluble fibers. No one seems to have any clue what i suffer from. No medication or herbs have any effect against the two most debilitating symptoms, the nausea and dizziness. I have though about CFS but as i have no muscular fatigue and not prone to infections it seems less likely.
