1263295 tn?1269927250 I read your profile, so it's your feet, correct? A lot depends on where in your feet you're having pain. Osteoarthritis of the hindfoot (the bones and joints between your heel and the front of your ankle) is not uncommon. It can be caused by normal wear and tear, or an undiagnosed deformity in the bones. One signal that the problem is in the hindfoot is that the majority of your pain happens when you rotate the foot laterally (side to side, like rolling your ankle).
1378884 tn?1315505845 In a nutshell, osteoarthritis is wear-and-tear on the joint. It can happen at any age, not just to "old people". It can be brought on by an injury, a congenital deformity, overuse in a sport or job. RA is a malfunction of the immune system in which it mistakes joint tissue, mainly the cartilage, as something that must be attacked and eliminated. This causes the typical swelling, redness, heat, and over time, damage that causes pain and disability.
1175033 tn?1492201228 s daughters had the hip deformity from birth as well, and spent much of her babyhood in a huge cast. She took ballet which I think helped stave off the inevitable, but she too will eventually need implants. It's very possible that your hip deformity is the source of your other aches and pains. It throws off your gait and your spinal alignment, causing pain and stress in other parts of your body. Ask for a referral to a pain management specialist.
Avatar n tn Slightly less marked osteoarthritis joint space narrowing is also noted with small marginal osteophytes. Both Knees: slight joint space narrowing.
2167803 tn?1338529751 The only way to diagnose osteoarthritis or autoimmune arthritis is with x-rays and blood bests. Your thirties is not to young to develop osteoarthritis (the wear and tear type) if you are athletic, or conversely, if you DON'T exercise, if you're overweight, or if you have a congenital deformity in your knees that is only now making itself known with pain. I'd say go in for an x-ray, at the very least.
Avatar f tn My latest MRI shows medium size left paramidline focal disc protrusion/herniation at the c5-c6 level causing mild left ventral thecal sac deformity. Minimal disc bulging demonstrated at c2-c3,c3-c4,c4-c5,and c6-c7. L4-L5 mild or early disc degenration. t11-t12 level, small right sided disc protrusion causes mild right ventral thecal sac deformity. Most days if I cannot walk i have little pain just pins needles constant numbness-arms and legs are affected with this.

Avatar f tn Hello all: I had a total colectomy in June of 09 for two huge bowel obstructions and had struggled my whole life with chronic constipation. Post surgery everything was great, have to use lactulose to BM or my stools are pin thin. Since the surgery, my middle finger joints on both hand have swollen and my fingers have become deformed.
1408307 tn?1310167412 I don't think I have a clitoris at all.... Alot of people say it's not possible but then how are people born without legs or fingers?... I've done alot of research and seen alot of diagrams and pictures of where the clitoris should be but it's just not there... No hood or anything. The skin isn't tight there either.
Avatar f tn To satisfy my husband's request, I took my 9 year old son to a foot and ankle specialist to get an opinion on his "flat feet". My son has never complained of pain of any kind. This was just to "check it out". The first doctor indicated he was too far gone for shoe inserts/plates to help in any way and highly suggested the procedure "subtalar arthroereisis".
Avatar m tn is a deformity that usually occurs at the head of the one of the five long bones or just due to deficiency of vitamins. So you can take some multivitamins for few days and see if it works. Consult to your physician for further examination. Hope it helps.Regards.
Avatar m tn I have mild bunions on both feet, more pronounced on my right foot, and high arches. The bunions don’t cause me pain yet (25 year old female). My mother, her brother, and my grandmother all developed severe bunions that required surgery, so I predict mine will worsen to that point eventually even with good footwear (my uncle certainly wasn’t interested in pointy-toed heels). I’m considering whether to go to a podiatrist.
301640 tn?1302652334 Hello Dear, bow-leggedness, is a deformity marked by medial angulation of the leg in relation to the thigh, an outward bowing of the legs, giving the appearance of a bow. It could be either with rickets or suffering from any ailment that prevents the due ossification of the bones, or is improperly fed, the bowed condition may remain persistent. Thus the chief cause of this deformity is rickets.
Avatar f tn After several weeks of discomfort in the sole of my foot after surgery, and not finding an answer from my primary doctor, All my primary suggested was inflamation in my foot. It wasnt enough for me so I went to a specialist I already have problems with my doot so I thought it best to go to a specialist. He took x rays and determined it was Osteoarthritist. The big concern at first was blood clots since it was right after surgery. I still am concerned about this. Can you still get them?
Avatar m tn I'm 74 y/o and have had osteoarthritis in my fingers of both hands for many years. Right hand ring finger swelled up at the middle knuckle with lots of pain when cutting things with a knife, shaking hands, unscrewing lids. The pain is on the sides of the knuckle, not the top, so that would seem to rule out a tendon problem. Ibuprofen or Tylenol don't seem to be of much help. Is there any procedure to relieve the pain, I'd rather not get into narcotic type pain meds?
Avatar n tn He is 55 years old, has history of seizues at night, but he is not taking his primidone because he had no episodes for long time now, he has high blood pressure and Type 2 diabetes(his blood sugar is under control), severe osteoarthritis in left knee- needs knee replacement, arthritis in right foot, old left ankle/foot surgery in the past, lumbar stenosis with compression of the dural sac, and asthma(under control). Avatar n tn At 18 weeks on her ultrasound it shows my Polka has club foot in both feet. Has anyone had a child with that deformity? How did you go through treatment? How is your baby doing and did during treatment? I'm very nervous. I don't want my baby to go through any pain or hardships.
Avatar m tn Your puppy probably has a congenital deformity and was born this way. If the other toes on the affected foot are normal, than your dog should be fully functional. Another cause for missing digits occurs when an inexperienced mother over-grooms her off-spring and accidentally chews off the digits. This is uncommon, but sadly can occur. I think you should give your vet another chance. Any vet would be surprised to find missing digits. It is still out side of the norm.
Avatar n tn ( Is it possible that osteoarthritis could end my pain-free life at age 30?
Avatar f tn I need surgery on my left foot - I have bunions, hammertoes and other problems which are making it increasingly difficult for me to walk comfortably. I am concerned about surgery, though. I have had cellulitus twice in the past (from surgeries) - both times required hospitalization - one required a pic (sp?) line and IV antibiotics at home for 6 weeks. Also, I had a bronchoscopy 2 years ago and my pulmonologist told me I have pseudomonas.
Avatar f tn Hi, I've been in physical therapy since mid February due to several falls. I also have Posterior Tibial Tendon dys function with some deformity of my left foot. I didn't have any X-rays after the falls but now feel I need them as the pain in my lower spine is severe upon arising and sometimes thru the day. I know I have a herniated disk plus a bulging disk. Have any of you had thisnweakening of the legs, and does it get better after surgery or even an epidural?
