Common Questions and Answers about Osteoarthritis diet symptoms

osteoarthritis

Avatar f tn ve had ideopathic gastroparesis for a year now and have been unable to find any help on what i should or should not eat to prevent or minimize symptoms. one suggestion was a low-fiber diet but the dietician i was referred to was completely unable to tell me exactly what that was. another suggestion was o soft diet. does that mean just eat anything and grind it up like babyfood or is it foods that become soft or are soft naturally such as jello & ice cream?
Avatar f tn I've had mri's of my spine and shows osteoarthritis with bone spurs in cervical thoracic and lumbar. This was done in 2007 (i was 35), now i have this horrible tendonitis in both wrists and i'm on prednisone. Could this be related to the arthritis? i'm seeing an ortho but he doesn't know about the osteoarthritis (i was just rereading my reports and it jumped out at me). What should i expect with this diagnosis?
Avatar m tn t think that is what you are looking for. What symptoms are you experiencing now? What treatment has the doctor prescribed? What area of your body is effected?
Avatar n tn I am afraid that I have developed osteoarthritis in my hands, esp. in the thumb joint. I experience pain up to 5 on 1/10 scale, but not swelling. After I ride my bike my hands hurt for several days, maybe the handlebar is too big around. The symptoms developed shortly after I broke my wrist (Collies fracture) two years ago. I realize that if I have this problem it isn't going away. How do I keep the damage to a miminim? I use Ibuprofen for pain with fair results.
1459410 tn?1285695005 Im in PT to help as well but if anyone would like to share a short summary of their story from pre-diag symptoms through successful treatment, I would really like to see how the different docs have handled your speciific case. The most effective thing Ive done on my own was recently bought an herbal cream that has capsicum in it whihc has done more than any of the other pharma routes. Its still kinda unbearable but Ive at least noticed it being somewhat alleviated.
Avatar m tn So here I am I asked him where now and will ask my GP likewise but am really getting to my wits end the only things that come close to my symptoms are Lymes (although no rash) and decompression sickness!!
Avatar f tn Please advise ASAP. Can Serum creatinine levels be reversed by diet control...Please advice am really worried.
1619005 tn?1298864860 Each person who has it is different, and it may take some time to find the right treatment plan to help manage the symptoms. Many patients find that altering their diet helps; again, what foods you eliminate or add that help your symptoms will take some experimentation. Exercise balanced with adequate rest is also helpful. In other words, you'll need to find out what your personal "wall" is and learn not to push beyond it.
2167803 tn?1338529751 The only way to diagnose osteoarthritis or autoimmune arthritis is with x-rays and blood bests. Your thirties is not to young to develop osteoarthritis (the wear and tear type) if you are athletic, or conversely, if you DON'T exercise, if you're overweight, or if you have a congenital deformity in your knees that is only now making itself known with pain. I'd say go in for an x-ray, at the very least.
Avatar f tn i felt like and had symptoms of a stroke and was told that ms symptoms and stroke symptoms sometimes mirror each other when an mri showed no change from the last one i had.
532065 tn?1213149801 ve always taken my Synthroid. I never miss taking my medication. Now I have osteoarthritis and it is rapiedly getting worse. In the past year my dr has lowered my dose from .125 daily to .112. Since then I have gained weight and the arthritis in my fingers is getting worse very rapidly and I am wondering if there is a link between the two. I know that the Hashimoto's disease affects my autoimmune system do you think that it can be making my arthritis worst.
Avatar n tn The pain started the first week into inpatient. My diet has not changed and my prescriptions for my blood pressure and cholestrol has not changed in years. Any ideas? I am a 55 year old female.
Avatar m tn osteoarthritis is a degenerative condition. It is caused by the breakdown of cartilage and is often associated with aging. It can be assisted along the way by injuries. There is no cure for osteoarthritis. Treatments include NSAIDs and pain management, maintaining a normal weight and exercise.
Avatar f tn I have had symptoms that have been increasing over the years. Avatar f tn As your blood tests for autoimmune disorders have come back negative and you are feeling dizzy when looking down and looking up, have you had your neck x-rayed? Osteoarthritis in the neck can cause these symptoms. Have you been involved in a car accident and suffered with whiplash at some point? Osteoarthritis is a degeneration of the bones and cartilage and this happens slowly over time and also if you have had any injuries.
Avatar f tn I have had mild osteoarthritis in my right hand, of and on. Now I have knee pain, both knees, elbow pain, foot pain (orthotics (4 diff pairs) haven't helped). Avatar m tn / I knew my condition was bad b/c of the amount of pain I am in but wasn't expecting that especially @ 32 with a 4 yr old and 7 month old!! Anyways, he adviced pain meds and synvisc-one injections until we couldn't control the pain enough. I tried the injections. I won't lie the are a bit painful. My right one was just uncomfortable. The left one hurt way worse. I have no idea why but it even swelled up and I had to stay off it about 24 hours b/c of all the fluid on it.
