Avatar m tn / I knew my condition was bad b/c of the amount of pain I am in but wasn't expecting that especially @ 32 with a 4 yr old and 7 month old!! Anyways, he adviced pain meds and synvisc-one injections until we couldn't control the pain enough. I tried the injections. I won't lie the are a bit painful. My right one was just uncomfortable. The left one hurt way worse. I have no idea why but it even swelled up and I had to stay off it about 24 hours b/c of all the fluid on it.
Avatar m tn I saw the xray of my knee and could see the cartilage had worn away in part of the knee joint and I could see a little spikey bone sticking down. There is no cure for osteoarthritis, only a replacement of the knee joint if the condition is severe.

Avatar n tn Let it be so WHAT'S YOUR CURE FOR OSTEOARTHRITIC INFLAMMATION(soft tissue stiffness primarily) or A PALLIATIVE(therapy) THAT WORKS ? There is no cure for Osteoarthritis, except for Joint replacement, if pain is the factor restricting your walking or even joint movement. Cartilage regeneration / regrowth is another option, but requires a detailed pre-work up, where again, exact cause of Osteoarthritis has to be known.
Avatar n tn B12 normal. Severe osteoarthritis. Fall frequently for five years. Diagnosed 5 months ago with CIDP by another neurologist and three days IVIG seemed to help. I can get the IVIG free. Thanks This discussion is related to Axonal Neuropathy.
1444483 tn?1468520089 I had a ruptured disc when I was 42 years old and they removed it. The SIDE-EFFECTS that I had was SEVERE DDD, Osteoarthritis of the ENTIRE back and numerous OTHER things. Why doesn't your PM Doctor give you pain meds? Why is it your PCP? That's QUITE unusual. Have you ASKED your PM Doctor to give you your Pain Medication? If so, what did he say? I'll be looking for your update............
1814299 tn?1316740136 Just this morning I stumble across a site of elmoreoil, they have so many products that can cure arthritis in a natural way. So what is arthritis anyway? Arthritis is not a single desease, it has so many types like: - Osteoarthritis - Rheumatoid arthritis - Infectious arthritis (septic arthritic) - Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) Arthritis affecting people in many ways and of corse it gives us pain and fatigue. **Please review this site: http://elmoreoil.com.
Avatar n tn Currently, these injections are approved for osteoarthritis of the knee joint, when more conservative treatments have failed. You can try a set of three injections for relief from Supartz or as indicated by your orthopedician. If you have any relief then you can repeat them again but you have to remember that this is no permanent cure for your osteoarthritis. A successful total knee replacement surgery gives you a long term guarantee from all your symptoms. Take care!
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, there is no cure for osteoarthritis. This is inflammation and wear and tear on the joints due to lack of synovial fluid and cartilage in between the joints which lead to the joints knocking on each other hence the wearing away. Rhumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disorder. Although the symptoms of inflammation and painful and still joints is the same as for osteoarthritis. Getting pregnant will not cure any form of arthritis.
Avatar f tn If symptoms continue then you would need to go for present day scans and diagnose your condition and follow up with an orthopedician. Arthroscopy cannot cure osteoarthritis. Take care!
Avatar m tn It is caused by the breakdown of cartilage and is often associated with aging. It can be assisted along the way by injuries. There is no cure for osteoarthritis. Treatments include NSAIDs and pain management, maintaining a normal weight and exercise.
Avatar f tn (this is also true for my feet..the meaty part where the toes attach to the feet).. It hurts to bend my fingers inward toward my palm, especially the thumbs & both thumbs are even MORE painful to bend than the others. I am assuming this IS FROM THE OSTEOARTHRITIS. I SOOO wish there were a miracle cure all pill... But...
617846 tn?1231556833 Oh and started me on Valium to cope with the depression /stress from my health. I thought the idea was to cure the ailments not just treat more and more symptoms. I really like my Doctor and respect his diagnosis and treatments, but I guess I'm getting frustrated with everything thats wrong with me. Hypertension/Osteoarthritis/Disk protrusions at L2-3/L4-5 /CarpalTunnel and prostititis. I'M 41 FOR G-- SAKES.
Avatar f tn I have had mild osteoarthritis in my right hand, of and on. Now I have knee pain, both knees, elbow pain, foot pain (orthotics (4 diff pairs) haven't helped). Not severe enough to take meds. Have been sleeping on a magnetic mat for 3 years. Doesn't seem to help. Have been going to osteopath, masseur, acupuncturist, nutritionist (treating inflammation). No real relief. Other issue (related?) is poor blood circulation (circulatory disorder). Not overweight (120lbs at 5'4.
Avatar f tn He is only 27 years. The doctor said it was osteoarthritis and no cure on it. What can i do to help him. I can't afford to buy his medicine.
Avatar n tn Creeking and cracking noises in joints are referred to as crepitus. You probably have some osteoarthritis in the cervical vetebrae (spine in the neck). You can mention this when you see your doctor as he may refer you to phsyiotherapy for neck exercises. But unfortunately there is no cure for this. As we get older the cartilage in between each vetebrae (bone) shrinks. Best wishes.
Avatar f tn Try to understand that if she has osteoarthritis then the only cure is total knee replacement and all these avenues are for short term relief. Tell her to cut down her weight if she is overweight and start physical exercise in sitting and sleeping positions so that she will be ready for her future surgery which involves lots of physiotherapy. Take care!
Avatar f tn Hello! You are suffering from osteoarthritis due to cartilage loss; you have to make sure you do not walk on hard surfaces and wear proper footwear and maintain normal body weight to decrease the pressure of your knees. You can try steroid injections and also synvisc. Using synvisc is called viscosupplementation and you will be given 3 injections with a gap between two injections if you respond well. You can also use ice packs and take NSAIDs to decrease the pain.
Avatar n tn (( I have inflammation and searced google for ANTI INFLAMMATORY DIET and FOODS. Saw that there are a lot of foods that are considered proflammatory. It changed my way of eating. After reading all the foods that are proflammatory that I always thought were good for you, I wished I knew about it so many years ago. You know the saying: "You are what you eat?" Let me know what you find. I could use more choices of foods to eat.
Avatar n tn Hummmm, sounds like a risky cure to me. If I drank a pint of vodka I would be passed out and under the table in no time. :) Seriously, alcohol has never helped my RA over the last 25 years. Good luck and Cheers!

Avatar n tn In my situation I'll take a med for a few months thinking it's helping then before I know it I'm having a major flare up in my hands (fingers) then back to changing meds again. There's no cure just meds to slow the crippling process this painful disease has on ppl. I was diagnosed at the age of 31 or 32 I'm 38 now, and has been diagnosed with osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia since. Good luck to you my friend here if you have any questions.
Avatar m tn The thumb joint at the palm is swollen (knobby) and occasionally aches and/or gets stiff. I'm in otherwise excellent shape for a 59-year-old man: I've exercised regularly for decades, eaten well, am often mistaken for 40s. I've recently considered taking up the piano again after decades of not playing. Would this hurt my hand, would it accelerate the progression of arthritis? Or would it help? Many thanks.
11446628 tn?1418302080 If you are overweight, losing weight will help by not putting so much strain on the damaged joints. Losing weight will not cure any osteoarthritis. You may also find a walking stick helpful, if you do not already use one. It is still important to have a healthy and well balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, meat, etc. Drink plenty of fluids so as not to get dehydrated.
8317359 tn?1397624939 Three years ago I was diagnosed with a severe case of osteoarthritis of the spine and I'm told there is NO cure for this medical condition. The doctors have claimed all they can do is treat me for the pain and as of today's date, I have yet to be pain free with this problem. My PCP claims in the 30+ years he has been practicing medicine, he has never seen such a severe case of osteoarthritis as my case? I find that somewhat difficult to believe!
387767 tn?1345875627 The other symptom also suggests that it might be osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is the most prevalent form of arthritis. It may occur in virtually any joint of the body. It has no cure and leads to pain and joint dysfunction. The end result is loss of articular cartilage with secondary bone changes, including osteophytes, subchondral sclerosis, and subchondral cysts. The knee is the most commonly affected joint, followed by the hand and hip.
1603632 tn?1297744140 Hi Babes, I suffer from a condition called Fibromyalgia which was caused through a car crash and the shock through my body from the impact. Avatar f tn Well, given how fast Lyme+ is moving through the world, one of these days the bugz will bite the wrong person of financial means and a seriously funded smackdown will be on the way. Think what huge money would result from the first bio/pharma company to truly prevent/cure Lyme. Yesssssss.......... That has to get somebody's attention.
Avatar f tn It depends on your age, and the way your doctor explains it. i am elderly.
