osteoarthritis

Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed with Arthritis in my right big toe, it is extremely painful and very difficult to walk on. The pain is excruiating. I also suffer greatly with Migraine Headaches, to the point of nausea, tunnel vision, sensitivity to light and unable to et out of bed. While I take Aleve for the Arthritis, it is absolutely not helping. I have been given Fiouacet for the Migraines (w/o) codiene, they help somewhat, but my Dr is very apprehensive about giving it to me.
1678656 tn?1369233818 I had a neuro visit today, but they called yesterday to cancel due to changes in insurance...blah blah blah... I jumped through all the hoops so now I'm waiting on them to reschedule. My primary does take extra special care of me and my family and my neuro doesn't, however. So it seems that my best bet is to just contact her and make an appointment. When my dad had gout, he described it pretty similar to what I'm experiencing.
Avatar m tn She can move her toes, but they tingle and are numb. 2 toes are swollen, and she has a black spot on the side of her big toe. Any idea what may cause this, and advice on if she should get it seen right away? She has a doctor appointment in 3 days, but not sure if she should wait. Background: She is being treated for high blood pressure, and has trouble walking due to osteoarthritis in her knees.
Avatar f tn I am a lot older than you and less than 10 weeks ago I had to have an implant put in my big toe. The cause was osteoarthritis which I've had for years but it ate the joint away. I have had arthritis for years. It isn't just for old people. I think it's in my genes..my husband is 12 years older than me and doesn't have any arthritis at all. I have it in too many places to mention but I do know it likes to jump on our weakest joints, whether an injury or surgery.
Avatar f tn Hands are so painful and some fingers distorted, feel broke. Was told just a bad case of osteoarthritis. I can't even make a fist, my fingers don't bend. They get worse every year. Why can't I take meds for rheumatoid,,why do I have to have joint damage. 2rheumatologist told me that the meds aren't made for my kind of arthritis. Do you have to have the factor in order to be diagnosed with rh. My hands resemble rh hands. What's going on.?
Avatar f tn I had two unsuccessful joint replacements in the big toe. I would not do it again. Now I need the fusion, and I have gotten four opinions. I did not research the first time. This time I want to be sure. I never realized how risky foot surgery is. Most doctors now tell me that they won't do the implants anymore. I feel like a guinea pig. My toe is now in the air and the rest of my foot is being stressed. The toes next to the big toe are turning under it. It's a mess.
Avatar f tn I just had an implant to replace my big toe joint 10 days ago because arthritis ate it up.get Checked out by a good Dr and have some tests run to find out what you really have.
Avatar m tn Is it a click in the big toe joint closest to the nail? Let me know how you went with the clicking as I think mine is doing the same.. how old are you I'm 22 and I know it can be very frustrating..
Avatar m tn I am 52 and had fusion surgery on a pinched nerve that I had on the L5 of the spine in 2012. I had no problems in 2013. This year, 2014, about a month ago, I started getting a numbness, tingling, pins & needles feeling on my left leg and right foot big toe. I have osteoarthritis and had fusion surgery in May on my right foot big toe that goes numb. The pain would start in my hip/buttock area on the left side and would go down to my outer shin area.
Avatar f tn But it could down the line. Osteoarthritis is the main worry. If you have another break, just take the toe to the one next to it. And at your next physical, ask your doctor about it.
Avatar n tn 40 days ago I had a surgery for my left big toe as the bone got displaced....An external fixator was applied and was removed 20 days ago...Now I can walk fine but the toe is really stiff and i can barely bend it....could you please guide me as to what should i do?
Avatar f tn I broke my pinkie toe on my right foot less than a week ago and about 2 days after they put me in a boot to help the toe heal my big toe started to hurt. It is not red, swollen or hot to the touch it is just very painful when pressure is put on it or I try to bend it. They took an x-ray of the whole foot and only the pinkie fracture showed up. I'm not sure what to do next?

Avatar m tn I have been recently diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my large toe. I believe it is from repeated trauma to that joints having been climbing a local mountain and upon descending much stress is put on that lead foot. I take glucosamine and that's about it, although I do wear insoles in my running shoes that help a bit. There is swelling that doesn't diminish and pain is intermittent. I'm considering checking into surgery and wonder if anyone has any advice about this. Thanks !
395251 tn?1224173392 Well, this morning as I was doing my morning rituals, suddenly my big toe began to hurt for no reason. At first I thought maybe I had stumped it and not remembered doing it or something. However, I thought long and hard and can not remember doing anything to it. Anyways, I tried to do some research on it, but still am not sure what is wrong. It is a consistent pain, but seems to become more painful if I prop it up in my recliner, and especially when I walk on it.
Avatar n tn i noticed that my left big toe started feeling numb but had like pins and needles in a part of the back part. maybe a week or two later my right big toe started feeling numb too, but doesn't have the pins and needles feeling. what could this be?
Avatar n tn I am afraid that I have developed osteoarthritis in my hands, esp. in the thumb joint. I experience pain up to 5 on 1/10 scale, but not swelling. After I ride my bike my hands hurt for several days, maybe the handlebar is too big around. The symptoms developed shortly after I broke my wrist (Collies fracture) two years ago. I realize that if I have this problem it isn't going away. How do I keep the damage to a miminim? I use Ibuprofen for pain with fair results.
Avatar f tn For years I have had a stabbing pain in the joint of my left big toe. I get it every other day and it lasts for 8 to 10 hours at a time. No doctor can find any answers as to why they just give me medicines that don't help. I have had just about every test except MRI and my insurance won't pay it and I can't afford that. The pain is in the joint closest to the foot area. Does anyone have any answers?
Avatar f tn i have a numb big toe and i used a blade to cut it slightly and it fixed it i wouldent recomend it because it hurts like a mother... but it fixed the numbness... my Q is did i fix the blood circulation or what?
Avatar m tn Weird stuff that happens every now and then for the past ten years or so and didn't think much of: - Leg spasms which last for a few seconds (usually at night in bed) - Foot spasms - feels like foot is extending or moving or just awkward and I have to mess with it - feels like a pinched nerve or something more recently: big toe feels strange. every now and then it's numb and sometimes it feels as if its trying to curve inward. It feels most normal when i have it bent upwards.
Avatar n tn I had melanoma in 2006.. I noticed a black spot under my big toe, it is very tender to touch.. It is in the middle of my toe.. could this be melanoma?
Avatar m tn I've in-grown toe nail and I've been dealing with it over the years. Lately my right big toe nail is getting thicker and thicker. It's getting to a point that it is difficult to cut my toe nail. What is the cause of that? Is there anything I can do about it?
Avatar n tn I have a constant pain in my left foot that is in my big toe joint and goes back towards my arch. It hurts to walk, run and change direction doing either. I am a baseball coach and I need my feet and don't want to be in pain anymore. This has been going on now for about 3 weeks and is getting slowly worse. What can I do?
