Avatar f tn I have Osteoarthritis and it is getting worse. I taken Celebrex, Norco, Tramadol and Vicopren. None of these are working. I don't have insurance and go to a public health clinic. They don't seem to know what to do. Could you please advise me on what I can take that will help with the chronic pain and will be inexpensive.
1257704 tn?1269493583 Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern. Generally pain in the back portion of the head originates from the neck problems due to irritation in the cervical (neck) spine because the nerves that supply the back of the head start in the upper cervical spine.
Avatar m tn My question is whether anyone can tell me if osteoarthritis in the lower spine can cause grabbing, debilitating pain that causes the patient to cry out it is so severe. These pains act like pinched nerves, but MRS and Neurological testing shows no nerve damage from the spine. The regular arthritis pain increases gradually when the patient is walking and prevents walking altogether after about 15 yards. The grabbing pain is additional to the regular pain. The only relief for the pain is sitting.
7486852 tn?1410355784 I have osteoarthritis in my knees but I need a to have my hips, wrists/hands and back looked at as well the pain is disabling.. The pain in my feet, shoulders, and ribs are more of an uncomfortable feeling than actual pain, although it does get worse with movement, and the other places that hurt, hurt constantly even if I am just sitting, standing, or lying down, although lying down is when its the least painful.
Avatar n tn After having a surgery to fix on particular problem that left me with a whole different problem I went to three other osteo docs. They all advised me to have hip replacement due to osteoarthritis, but I didn't want to do that without trying every other avenue. I recently had a 'live blood analysis' and discovered a tiny organism called 'mycoplasma arthritides' was responsible for my problem. I was told that a trauma like my surgery couild have triggered the organism.
Avatar f tn I've had 2 back surgeries, both performed 10 yrs ago, 1 yr apart. I feel great but I'm worried about Osteoarthritis. My mother suffered from it for a few years. Eventually al her vertabreas fused themselves together. How can I prevent this from happening to me?
Avatar n tn I have been dealing with muscles aching terrible in my sides of neck and down to my elbow have hard to lift my arms without pain in upper arms what could it be and my fingers and wrist as well as i do have osteoarthritis and uveitis. They questioning scoliosis cause my sine is curving, i cant sleep at night cause it hurts my upper arms to lay on so i have to lay on my back and i cant sleep on my back. any suggestios ?
975514 tn?1325001538 My muscles felt so weak that I literally had to stop en route from bed to coffee pot fo fear my back wasn't going to hold me up. Since being on meds, the lower back has improved tremendously. I have arthritis, so it's not 100%, but arthritis doesn't go away, so I guess I'm stuck with that part. Thyroid hormone imbalance can cause or worsen a whole lot of conditions. Furthermore, it inhibits the body's ability to heal, so "little" injuries can linger and fester.
Avatar f tn An xray or other imagining will confirm whether you have degeneration through wear and tear (osteoarthritis). If you are still having the problem, you need to get back to your doctor for further tests.
1295500 tn?1272463527 Hopefully it's simple osteoarthritis or a soft tissue injury that will require only anti-inflammatory meds to get her back on her feet again.
Avatar f tn Well, after a very long absence from the board, I am back. This last year has been VERY difficult. Constant UTI's and Bladder infections since March mean that I have been on way too many Antibiotics!!!
Avatar f tn Hello all!!! I'm going to start with a list of my diagnosed health problems and then move on to the more recent issues, just in case they may be related. I have: multiple herniated/bulging discs...
535089 tn?1400677119 I have had Hep C since 1980 and wasn't aware until 2004 when my Blood work came back positive. I had been having some problems with headaches, low grade fevers, muscle aches ect...and after every test possible I was finally diagnosed. I have been tx'd twice, once in 2004 and again in 2006 with little luck. I completed 25 wks the second time and only did 2 log rolls. I was so ill by the 25 wks that I was hospitalized for 7 days.
785373 tn?1236332003 Now I have a pretty good one, and went to the Dr's the other day was given Vicoden, Naproxen, and Predisone. Was given a MRI of hip, and back. Doctor says she also thinks the pain comes from back. Havent got results back yet. Pain starts in hip, usually when lying down or sitting in a certain type of chair. Goes down the back of my leg, down to my ankle, sometimes into my toes, sometimes into my heel.
Avatar n tn Hello, My husband has been having middle and lower back pain for years now. He was in a car accident over 9 years ago and slipped three discs. He had pain when I met him 7 years ago and it's been gradually getting worse to the point where it affects all his everyday activities. It's hard for him to get out of bed in the morning. He can't stand still for too long and we can't enjoy vacations or trips because it hurts too much. He can't drive for hours due to the pain.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with buldging L3 - L5 disks with a bone spur. I also have osteoarthritis in back and both hips. I was diagnosed by an Orthopaedic Surgeon who specializes in spinal treatments. I began an excercise routine and found the pain too great to excercise. I have had MRI w/contrast and spinal X-rays. I was told to start with steroid epidural shots to the L4-L5 area. I have had first shot.
Avatar n tn Im 21 female a little overweight dont smoke and no other health issues. For the past week or so i have been getting a headache on and off in the back of my head just above my hairline also into my neck and shoulders and right down my spine. For the past couple of days its been worse and waking me in the night. I have been to my doctors and he made sure i had good movement in my spine which i did and my neck has good movement, does not hurt to move it.
Avatar n tn I had a positive ANA test, but other tests proved it to be nothing, and the only thing that the X-Rays and MRI's have shown is mild osteoarthritis in my lumbar back, right hip and feet. Nothing to explain the severity of pain in my tailbone and feet. What could be causing this pain and who should I see for it?
Avatar n tn Well day 5 of being back on Lexapro... at 3/4 tablet dose in the morning (7.5 mg) and have to say that the nervousness and edgeyness appears to be subsiding a bit... didn't have to take a Clonazapam (klonopin) yesterday to take the edge off which I am considering to be a good sign since I had to the day before. Gonna stick at this level till Wed until I see my doc and then the plan is to go up to a full 10 mg tablet for a week or so and then begin ramping up again 1.25, 1.
Avatar m tn dear all, i am a 33 year old guy, i work as chef for 19 years now and travel the world cooking, currently working in china and that where my health started to go pear shape. in december 206 i was diagnose with a fatty liver something that majority of the chef haveand nothing much to worry about as what they told me.
1900394 tn?1321546029 I hit the dash with my forehead, then smashed the back window with the back of my head. I did not receive proper medical care afterwards, this is when my migraines got really bad. When I was 17, I had a sports accident. I was playing basketball, and I collided with another player (we both jumped for the ball & smashed into each other). I landed on my left side, bounced up then landed flat on my back. For about 10 minutes, I could not move nor could I feel anything from the neck down.
1949004 tn?1324417953 I have Pulmonary Fibrosis, COPD, Asthma, Hiatal Hernia (not thought to be the cause) Fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and few other small things. Needless to say, my health is not at it's best but I can usually manage but this pain has really gotten me down. I'm only 51 years old. I'd appreciate any feedback. Thank you.
Avatar f tn He's in good health, at a good weight, and has always been active with no hip, leg or joint problems. Eyes, ears and mental facilities are all great. A few months ago he started limping on one hind leg for a few days so I brought him to the vet who said it could be the start of osteoarthritis. His food and water had previously been downstairs so the vet said to move it upstairs to prevent any falling incidents.
14993501 tn?1437776467 Hi everyone! I am a 43 year old female who started experiencing a very tight back after my workouts last summer, I would experience them after my workout as I tried to cool down and just walk and I would have to bend over and stretch my back. I didn't think much of it but it tended to come and go and I could still use elliptical machines and run but it only presented the problem when I would stand for long periods or walk more than half a mile or so.
Avatar f tn I have multiple herniated/bulging discs in cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions. Degenerative disc in cervical and thoracic area. Straighting and osteoarthritis in my cervical region. Bone spurs pretty much throughout, one is pressing on a nerve in my neck. The herniated disc in my lumbar spine is pressing on my sciatica. Scoliosis, fibromyalgia, and migraines that lasts for weeks on end. So here is what has happened recently. I changed pain management doctors approximately 3 months ago.
Avatar n tn I have back aches and cramps but always thought it was osteoarthritis. Wear and tear arthritis due to aging. I'm not sure. As for as the swelling in your ankles, Wal-mart carries a sock for diabetics with a loose top so that it won't leave indentations. My father has kidney failure, mother-in-law had a stroke, and the socks work great for their ankles. Good Luck.
974371 tn?1424656729 I have had other health issues going on for some time, Gastro, mouth and throat. A few months ago, I started having low back and left hip pain that persisted. My dictor finally ordered an x-ray then an a MRI as a month of PT was no help at all. Tests dud show degeneration so he said it is age related, I am just 64.
378497 tn?1232147185 He commented on it, but I thought that sometimes, the biceps could be barely perceptible under normal conditions. So...I'm to go back on the 19th for the "long" end-of-day appt and to bring my MRI films from my most recent MRI. He really really likes to look at his own films. He's going to see that tspine thing and my brain this time, is my bet, and he's going to finally call the duck a duck.
Avatar m tn I've had back pain for over 3 years and haven't had much relive from anything. I have 3 bulging discs -2 upper 1 lower- degenerative disc disease, arthritis, pinched nerves to where it goes to my feet and makes them a little numb, my left are bothers me to where it gets weak and can't do certain things sometimes. They say it's from my back. Everyone says that it's not that bad. So if it's not that bad why have I been having pain for over 3 years.
