735676 tn?1257575826 I'm on SSI for my migraines, and know others who are on SSI/SSDI for theirs, so yes, you are eligible that way. You want to apply for SSDI and SSI both. Since you've worked, you'll be eligible for both. I'm on SSI because I was disabled w/ migraines before I was 18 and so never worked. I was approve the first time around, but that's a VERY rare occurrence, so don't get discouraged if you get rejected the first time around. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Along with diabetes, degenerative osteoarthritis, spinal stenosis, and 2 more bulging discs( they just removed cervical disc and fused C5-C6). I work only because I have to, I am a widow, and I am only 60, so can't quit until I can get medicare insurance. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Hello, I have a respiratory therapist friend that has Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Osteoarthritis. She has filed twice now for SSD, the 1st denied, and the last one, they won't let her file SSI due to house ins. money from the big tornado we had in March, is setting in her account waiting to be paid for contractors for the house repairs. She has no income. Donations can be sent: Donna Brawley, 5504 Waddell St.,Ft. Worth, TX 76114.
Avatar f tn does it seem possible that what is shown on these results can be causing my finger numbness, back tingles and pain, dizziness, weakness and trouble walking and extreme fatigue? and confusion and inability to concentrate, ringing in ears, short term memory loss as well. i have no insurance, and i had the mris as a self-pay.
1047234 tn?1253547296 ( i also have weakness and burning and muscle spasms. My problems started off with the muscle spams and continued to get worse. Also get charlie horses in different parts of my body. And so many other things seems like everyday i could add something new to the list its crazy and sad.
Avatar f tn Now I have to wait 6 more months since the last SSI decline, so I can reapply and get Medi-Cal and get some kind of decent Doctor
Avatar n tn I have talked to the neurosurgeon who did the surgery and he shrugged his shoulders and said I have no idea and sent me back to my neurologist. He gave me a series of injections in both shoulders and the pain stopped for a couple days but then came right back. Then we tried message therapy, it helps but only for a short period. And I have tried changing my pillows on my bed and sleeping in different positions and nothing seems to help for long term. What can I do?
Avatar n tn I have been told that I have Degerative Disc Disease in lumbar and osteoarthritis in the right facet, onset by an injury 4 months ago at work , currently in physiotherapy but feel like this isn't what i need (muscles strenghtening), still in pain, nerves in legs have being damaged. I worked for couple of months and felt worse.
Avatar f tn Now, try to imagine yourself in severe pain throughout your entire pregnancy because the THIRD time you went into the ER, they finally gave you an MRI that proves you have Degenerative Disc Disease, Osteoarthritis, Herniated Discs, and Scoliosis all of the sudden. You don't care what happens, you just need the pain to subside a tiny bit in order to have the ability to simply wipe your butt without severe pain.
Avatar n tn I now get SSDI and SSI, medicaid and medicare. I don't know why you would not get the medicare for 1-2 yrs, because I got mine immediatly. Thou, I do know of people that have had to wait on theirs. I dont understand that part. Since then, I have had my HCV RNA by PCR come back totally undectable. Over the past 6 yrs, it has slowly come down to nothing. When I stopped treatments in 1999, I had not cleared the virus, I just gave up and stopped the treatments.
662361 tn?1225338107 It was an extremely stressful phone call as she was very curt with me and said that I am “not disabled” and repeatedly asked, “and it was your doctor who said that you were unable to work?” She also asked me some strange questions, like what date I became disabled. I wasn’t sure how to answer and asked her if she meant when I began having symptoms that impacted my daily life or when the doctor diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia. Her reply was, “which ever date you want to give me.
Avatar f tn And get the benefits I deserve from my 20 years of working and not in the past 10 years! Drawing SSI, was told by insurance agent, after 2 years, I automatically am eligible for Medicare....hope so. checking on that with SS today, I feel like I am related to you! take care.
748543 tn?1463449675 One of the most difficult concepts to get across to my TMD patients and other doctors is the connectivity of the Jaw and the Neck. In fact, it is my strong belief that TMD/TMJ should really be classified as a Craniocervical Disease and hence fall under the umbrella of medical coverage rather than treated strictly as a dental problem. To the Neuromuscular-minded dentist, "Occlusion" is an extension of general Postural Consideration.
Avatar f tn As grinding is characteristic of osteoarthritis; as locking and catching are characteristic of meniscus injuries and osteochondritis dissecans (meniscus injuries are much more common than osteochondritis dissecans); similarly giving way is more characteristic of ligamentous injuries. I am sorry to hear about your problems, but we need to see how best we can utilize the available resources. You need to determine what kind of ligament is involved and decide upon the intervention accordingly.
Avatar n tn Just a question for all those out there, both the non-treaters who currently have HCV, and those who have treated, either successfully and have SVR'ed, or who have relapsed. How many of you have been bothered by periodic stiff neck, pains in the neck and shoulders, and related pains or numbness in the neck, shoulder, and arms.
Avatar n tn I have osteoarthritis extremely bad and am only 46 years old. I have had back surgery once already and now I can't hardly bend my elbows or move my left shoulder, I'm told I have the spine of an 80 year old. I should add that I am no wimp, I used to weight train and am extremely strong for a girl. About 3 or 4 years back I accidentally got someone else mail, I magazine from the Life Extension Foundation. It was awesome and informative about all kinds of supplements.
Avatar n tn - I am very grateful that when I went before the judge for SSI, he was very understanding and granted me the help I needed. I was very weak and in a lot of pain that day and could hardly stand. Get documentation from every doctor you have seen now. It will be very important for the day you try to get SSI or Social Security. Yes, even the "crappy" doctors. This will show the judge that you have tried very hard to get the help you needed.
Avatar f tn I am desparate for help as I am losing the ability to walk and this all in just a year and a half. I can no longer work and am on SSI Disability. I can't find a Neuro to do a spinal even though all tests done have ruled everything else out. A spinal. What is the deal. I don't want to lose my ability to function, live in my home or take care of myself. Please help me. I am an RN with 25 years experience I can't believe this is happening to me.
897749 tn?1241764082 I'n short I am apparently uninsurable and on disability with Sedgwick not SSI yet... My Oxycontin has cost 2480.00 mnthlu. That's right over 15 thou. Avatar n tn I have bulging discs and osteoarthritis and the avascular necrosis. The hip pain has been the worst of what I have experienced. The Dr's tell me having my hips replaced will cure most of the pain. I am now bone on bone , no cartiledge with cysts. I am just worried I have waited too long as now I have lost my muscle tone am not able to exercise at all now, sleeping more than an hour or so at a time is not possible most nights. Avatar n tn I now have celiacs, lactose, weightgain, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis and so many other food allergies and when I say food allergies I mean foods that I've eaten all my life that I dare not try to eat now and then it's weeks I don't want to eat. I really wish all doctors would be straight and tell you everything on the pros and cons. If there is a doctor out there please tell me what to do and help your patients before surgery to get a full understanding.
408795 tn?1324939275 I am waiting for a clinical trial but I'm having to wait as I have mitigating circumstances concerning prescription meds, so I will be seeing my GI in early July and getting my bloods and an ultrasound done, minimum. I am also pro-treatment, with all these issues associated with the HepC tx, I am geno 1, so it seems like the genotype with the extra aggressive tx, if there is such a thing.
Avatar f tn Grinding is characteristic of osteoarthritis; locking and catching are characteristic of meniscus injuries and osteochondritis dissecans (meniscus injuries are much more common than osteochondritis dissecans); and giving way is more characteristic of ligamentous injuries. You don't have any of these symptoms which signify you are not having advanced stage of disease. You don't have hip pain or knee pain that rules out any nerve involvement.
551343 tn?1506834118 I'm 42yrs old, mother of adult son, but have had undiagnosed symptoms off and on for years. From Joint pain and swelling to lymph node swelling and tenderness to now currently weakness (heavy feeling) and constant tiredness. I was diagnosed about a year and a half ago with a dead gallbladder which was removed...and it was dead. But now my PCP is testing for Autoimune and Viral/baterial infections: Mono, Lyme, Celiac and Lupus. I won't get the test results for another 24hrs or so.
Avatar n tn The first night I slept for about an hour then I got up and went to work. The whole time at work all I wanted to do was go home and sleep. When I got home that was the last thing I could do. I tossed and turned all night. Finally I remembered that I had a few soma that I had taken a long time ago, so I took 1 and I slept for a full 4hrs. I am not going to take anymore soma I just want to be able to stay clear of all meds. Since I've stopped taking norco I've gone through so much.
Avatar n tn I feel like my body's thermostat is broken and I'm constantly overheating. I've been taking Claritin and Benadryl but that doesn't seem to help at all. My doctor also gave me a prescription medicine called Atarax, which only makes me drowsy and doesn't help the itchy feeling. Any suggestions? Btw, I've taken blood tests to see if there is anything wrong but everything came out fine.
