665692 tn?1294010306 Has anyone been able to file and get SSI for their fibro? And if so do you have suggestions on how to do so, or an attrny that helped you do so? Thanks in advance!
735676 tn?1257572226 m on SSI for my migraines, and know others who are on SSI/SSDI for theirs, so yes, you are eligible that way. You want to apply for SSDI and SSI both. Since you've worked, you'll be eligible for both. I'm on SSI because I was disabled w/ migraines before I was 18 and so never worked. I was approve the first time around, but that's a VERY rare occurrence, so don't get discouraged if you get rejected the first time around. Good luck!
Avatar m tn Anyone here have an anxiety disorder and on SSI or Disability and if so how did you get it? What the hell do you have to say to your doctor or the SSI Admin/Gov. to make them understand how bad you feel & that you cannot work? I do not understand is there something im missing? In 13 years ive been in & out of the mental hospital to,countless appointments ive takin a bunch of meds & nothing seems to help (except the addictive ones). I even got a lawer & went to a hearing.
1126418 tn?1326165992 So far I have gone to a psych evaluation and next is an MS evaluation to determine if I will be approved for SSI. They could not use my own doctor's evaluation because it's been too long since my last appointment so they want to get a currant evaluation from one of their specialists. Wish me luck!
Avatar m tn I'm not too clear on what SSI is. Do you have to be on SSD to be getting SSI? Someone at work said they got SSI because of having a low income but they had no disability and weren't on SSD but this confuses me because I have a low income myself but also disabilities but not to meet the criteria for SSD but my caseworker and such never has brought up SSI.
1177259 tn?1326612349 are you disabled and on ssi that have Chiari Malformation im wondering because my walking is getting worse
211940 tn?1267881266 This was one of the things that I hope the health care bill will fix. It's crazy, isn't it?
Avatar f tn All you need to do is call Social Security and make an appointment for SSI. They will interview you and take all the information. It is best to show up with all your medical records. You can go to a lawyer, they advertise on TV and they will help you too. They will take 25% of your first check (I think).
Avatar f tn i think you definitely should sign up for ssi to help you with your kids and expenses and medical bills (they would give you a medical card) espiecially if your docter bought it up, but you need to tell him to give you proof to give to ssi. i hope all is well with you!
Avatar f tn I am being paid back pay based off my SSI and I am covered by medicaid and I am eligible for Food Stamps. Once my SSDI kicks in I will lose SSI; my meicare and I will be making over the limit to receive Food Stamps. On SSDI you must draw for 2 yrs. before becoming eligible for Medicaid. Hope this helps. Be sure and apply for both SSDI and SSI when you apply.
Avatar m tn No its not part of treatment but generally its necessary to remain in treatment and see a psychiatrist to receive SSI. If you have specific questions about SSI go to the Social Security website at ssa.gov and go to "questions and answers".

Avatar f tn I've had mri's of my spine and shows osteoarthritis with bone spurs in cervical thoracic and lumbar. This was done in 2007 (i was 35), now i have this horrible tendonitis in both wrists and i'm on prednisone. Could this be related to the arthritis? i'm seeing an ortho but he doesn't know about the osteoarthritis (i was just rereading my reports and it jumped out at me). What should i expect with this diagnosis?
Avatar f tn I have Osteoarthritis and it is getting worse. I taken Celebrex, Norco, Tramadol and Vicopren. None of these are working. I don't have insurance and go to a public health clinic. They don't seem to know what to do. Could you please advise me on what I can take that will help with the chronic pain and will be inexpensive.
529224 tn?1400648219 The other knee was about to be replaced in 2012 and an emergency came in and my OP was postponed.I took up hill walking, despite it hurt, aquafit twice a week and swimming lengths (not breaststroke!) - which my consultant had suggested before first knee OP, and my knee (despite being in a worse arthritic state than the first knee before OP!) improved - I don't have pain, or instability anymore!
513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!
Avatar n tn t tried it myself yet, only because I HATE taking pills, but have heard a few success stories about Glucosamine and Chondroitin. Another thing you can do is start physical therapy. Strengthening the muscles and tendons around the joints helps to slow the degenerative changes.
Avatar m tn I have osteoarthritis in my neck moderate and mild in lower back. Can and adjusment help? will they even do an adjustment me? i seem to be losing sensativity in my legs but dont know if iy du to oa in back nad neck.any help would be great. thank you.
Avatar m tn t expecting that especially @ 32 with a 4 yr old and 7 month old!! Anyways, he adviced pain meds and synvisc-one injections until we couldn't control the pain enough. I tried the injections. I won't lie the are a bit painful. My right one was just uncomfortable. The left one hurt way worse. I have no idea why but it even swelled up and I had to stay off it about 24 hours b/c of all the fluid on it.
Avatar n tn I am afraid that I have developed osteoarthritis in my hands, esp. in the thumb joint. I experience pain up to 5 on 1/10 scale, but not swelling. After I ride my bike my hands hurt for several days, maybe the handlebar is too big around. The symptoms developed shortly after I broke my wrist (Collies fracture) two years ago. I realize that if I have this problem it isn't going away. How do I keep the damage to a miminim? I use Ibuprofen for pain with fair results.
Avatar m tn i was also wondering about the osteoarthritis as my dr told me that i have severe degenerative osteoarthritis of the lower spine (I forgot the numbers), hips, left shoulder and both feet. I had major surgery last summer and mesh was used to attach part of my bowel to my spine. My dr figures that this may have jump-started the arthritis issues. Currently i have probs walking, bending and overall it hurts to be on my feet for more than 20 mins at a time.
Avatar f tn Does osteoarthritis generally cause an elevated Sed Rate and and elevated C-Reactive Protein? Anyone have these tests elevated with your condition? Thanks!
527589 tn?1301678178 Have an app with hosp now for emer medicaid and a lawyer workin on ssi or ssdi or whatever. nothing happens. Something's got to give soon or I'm gonna fall into the black pit of despair and not be able to climb out again.
Avatar f tn Hi,thanks in advance for any responses...much appreciated and my drs. do not know. I've been menopausal since Nov.2011(my last period) and I've been diag.hypothyr.about 3-5 yrs. I'm currently on estrogen patch+progesterone+150 mcg synthroid. Wondering if anyone has had experience with hip (actually where the leg and hip meet)pain that disturbs their sleep? Also on another note wondering the best labs to target any such problems, whether hormone or thyroid related.
Avatar m tn The osteoarthritis may progress slowly over time. Strengthening the muscles that support the neck and cervical spine may lesson symptoms of pain and discomfort. ~•~ Dr. Parks This answer is not intended as and does not substitute for medical advice.
