650397 tn?1228831384 Hello, Without examination, confirming a diagnosis is tough but the various possibilities for your symptoms are muscle fatigue or strain from overuse, stress fracture, tendonitis, claudication, osteomyelitis, arthritis(osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or inefctive arthritis), nerve damage like sciatic nerve pain (radiating pain down the leg) caused by a slipped disk in the back or benign tumors or cystsof the bones.
Avatar n tn My knee and lower leg have been in pain for a few months now. I believe the pain is from jogging and putting too much pressure on my leg in general. It hurts mostly when I walk or put pressure on it. Resting my leg and taking naproxen and ibprofen to reduce inflammation does not seem to be healing it. Is it possible that this injury will require surgery? What should I do?
Avatar m tn t expecting that especially @ 32 with a 4 yr old and 7 month old!! Anyways, he adviced pain meds and synvisc-one injections until we couldn't control the pain enough. Avatar n tn The main symptom is pain in the buttocks, thigh and calf. Treatment involves rest and antinflammatory drugs until pain subsides. Also antibiotics and hormone terapy can be implicated depending upon the severity. I would advise to get an X-ray done and treatment accordingly. Take care.

Avatar n tn Is the symptoms have been more prominent in the morning, when you put your first step out to work? Take an X ray and if symptoms mimic osteoarthritis then take some pain killers like ibuprofen and glucosamine for better joint lubrication.
Avatar m tn It seems to radiate from the spine across the top of the hip and down the right leg. Is this a normal manifestation of osteoarthritis and if not, does anyone know what it might be?

408795 tn?1324935675 I have extensive Osteoarthritis in my upper back and neck from an accident I was in over 20yrs ago. I had an accident and I broke my right leg and my left arm. As a result my right leg is slightly bowed and therefore around a half inch shorter than my left leg. As a result it has affected my back and neck. Lately my legs have been swelling and itching, mostly the left. I certainly feel it's all related to my right leg injury.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted if you have any additional queries.
Avatar f tn After breaking my femur,I went through a bunch of surgeries. My right leg ended up being shorter than my left. At first,it didn't bother me but then I started to get a lot of pain in my right heel and left hip. A trip to the orthotics/prosthetics office showed that my right leg was an inch shorter than my left. They built a shoe with the added inch and the pain went away within a day. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn I understand your concern regarding your symptoms. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis and it causes pain, swelling, and reduced motion in the joints. if there is no pain associated with the joint cracks or pops, this may be caused by the soft tissue in a joint. Knee popping may also occur if the patella is slightly out of alignment, and rubs on the adjacent tissues. Other causes of joint noise is the snapping of tendons or scar tissue over a prominence, or cavitation.
Avatar n tn ve had very severe leg pain, especially the left leg. If I bend my left leg (especially for kneeling or getting in and out of bed or a car) the back of my leg behind the knee hurts terribly. I also have severe pain in the right groin/pelvic area, which also makes things like getting out of bed very difficult. My worst complaint though is I have almost zero tolerance for standing or walking, as my lower back hurts so bad when I do.
Avatar n tn My muscle cramping has disappeared as has the leg pain. Granted I have sciatica that nothing touches but the leg pain I was experiencing was not associated with my chronic pain. So if you have not had a battery of lab tests to check the levels I mentioned I would encourage you to request them. Your pain may be related to the Fibro progression but in my opinion it wouldn't hurt to cover all your bases. I assume with your diagnosis you are being monitored and treated by a rheumatologist.
Avatar f tn as far as yolur legs and feet being cold it sounds like you have bad circulation wear warmer socks and get and walk around or do leg exercises to get the blood flow moving to your legs and feet that will help them warm up and not be so cold. as far as your arm and leg going weak it sounds like you have sciatica but that has to be treated by a dr.
