osteoarthritis

1875722 tn?1320440866 No more hopping out of bed to make coffee anymore!!! I have noticed that the humidity and time of year directly affects it. I live in NW Arkansas in the Ozarks. Can anyone else relate?
Avatar f tn 40mg per day taken in the morning. Remember OZ and the humidity and have found the dry climate in AZ a huge improvement. Interesting that you are into natural meds as well and I am also much better than I was 12yrs ago. Have just joined this forum and want to pass on anything that has helped me. I'm 67 now..where did that go? You may be interested in checking out some of my posts for similarity. I'm always looking for new information.
Avatar n tn For the last 6 months I have been getting tearing (look like paper cuts) in my vaginal area (1/4 to 1/2 inch long). I get the tears at least once or twice a week and they last from 2-4 days, go away for a few days and then come back. They continue to occur in the same locations; 1. Inside the vaginal lips on the sides almost always in the crease (between the labia minora and majora?) 2. Between the anus and vaginal opening (perineum) 3. Above the clitoris in the "hood" area.
Avatar n tn I got to spend a short time in Florida the last 2 winters and I found it very agreeable. My husband and I plan to spend 3 months in Florida this winter. I don't know if summer in Florida would be good for me, since really hot weather and high humidity bother me as well.
Avatar n tn Hi all. New to this. I am a 44 year old woman who is physically fit (gym 5 days a week) and eats pretty well. Approx 5 weeks ago I developed veins showing on both hands. They have not gone away and infact they are bulging most times, and I can "feel them". They have increased and I can see some starting to climb up my forearm now. Before this, my veins barely ever showed.
Avatar m tn Neck and back pain can occur due to other reasons and not just bone problems (degenerative diseases of the spine). Hence it is wise to get a doctor's diagnosis. I do find that having a massage does help to relax the muscles that are causing spasms, but this does not cure any bone problems. Even with bone problems you will experience good and bad days and even the severity can fluctuate within the day.
1722077 tn?1311055838 That's why I have chosen to stay with Pain Meds because I never want to feel that way again. I, fortunately, live in Arizona and don't have to worry about Humidity or Rain!! It has really helped my Arthritis a lot. I know why so many Seniors move here to retire!! :) My Doctor's in Spring Hill told me that I would feel better when I got here but I didn't realize just how much it would help me!! :) Sending you (((HUGS))))............
Avatar n tn I live in NY and have been mostly house bound since March. I go out to get food, movies, exercise (warm pool and stationary bike). But, small exertions really cause exhaustion and great pain. I have FM/CFS, Osteoarthritis, Raynaud's & depression. I'm on Lexapro, Trazadone, Lyrica, Soma, and Evista (for bones). The Soma seems to help the most. While they do help, I find I can't function with all these meds. I live alone and find the day to day difficult at best.
1207048 tn?1282177904 Since they are taking center stage again as autumn comes upon us, I'm wondering if what's going on now might be related to temperature, humidity and barometric pressure changes. I know some people don't believe things in nature can influence our bodies. But I know that the (way far away) moon causes the mighty ocean's tides to rise and fall. Our bodies are a collection of tissues with an extremely high percentage of water in a closed container. Why wouldn't we be at least as vulnerable?
544292 tn?1268886268 Hi everyone! Welcome to Part 14! Please come in and make yourself at home. We're all glad you made it here.
529981 tn?1212853666 Also I have tried, salycylic shampoos, tar shampoos, jojoba oil, AND nothing seems to help. Please help me and my hair. I am a busy college student, who unfortunately does not have the time and money to deal with this.
311693 tn?1218136275 I go to the gym and get in warm water and walk and then sit in the dry heat sauna. It helps so much. Rest and take good care of yourself by eating right, drink a lot of water. If you don't take Vitamin D, this time of year especially is when we need it. I get B12 shots monthly that also helps. Know that you are not alone. I walk around in tears at times from pain and so tired of feeling this way but you know it will pass and it does pass. Pray that it does and I will pray for you.
182493 tn?1348056515 It comes in a spray or a gel and we use it for people with severe osteoarthritis, stroke vicdoms.....people with back injuries, knee injuries ect.... its a topical application but the **** works so great......Its not a prescription, but you can't buy it in the store.. Its a temporary relief to pain, but its better then nothing......I like the spray, but alot of people like the gel,....you just put it on where you hurt and rub it into the muscles......

Avatar f tn I try to avoid recommending any kind of supplement on here but I have to say my husband has had considerable benefit with Glucosamine and chondroitin (and stretching, avoiding certain foods and walking). Anyway I am only on week 38/48 of Telaprevir so I don't have much input. I know a lot of people here on the forum treated with it and hopefully others will chime in.
Avatar n tn It is probable that a mix between the warm humidity and and exposure to sunlight uv rays are extracting the acne already present in your skin. A white head indicates the bacteria is being pulled out of the skin. It generally takes about 14 days for acne bacteria to be expelled by the skin, so at the point when the acne is presently visible it has been there previously in most cases.

Avatar f tn Sometimes you just need to vent...let it all out! And that is what we are here for! To listen, support, help if we can... I had my own "pity party" yesterday out of frustration and after a few of our wonderful MH family members replied, I felt so much better. I am so sorry for the increase in pain that you are having...especially when the procedure was being done to relieve some pain...very discouraging for you I am sure. I hope you are able to rest tonight...
Avatar n tn Along these same lines... I had a cervical fusion done in 2004 at the C3/C4 level due to osteoarthritis and cervicogenic headaches. About 6 months after after the fusion I was diagnosed with idiopathic small fiber neuropathy. I was tested THOROUGHLY and no cause was ever found. Hence, the term idiopathic. I am also not diabetic. However, I am due to have another fusion at the C5/C6 level in September. In the meantime, the L2,L3,L4,L5 and S1 are basically lying on a "long nerve".
4522800 tn?1470329434 I'm taking one a day vitamins for women, melatonin, LOTS OF H2O and tea, and believe it or not MIDOL for the all over pain. And the HEATING PAD has become my very best friend..
Avatar n tn I could wake up feling great and then by the time I brush teeth and hair, go to restroom, I am down and out! Or I may be ok for the evening then in the blink of an eye, Down and out! So, I guess my answr is mine are very random.....No predicitng one minute to the next or one day to the next for me. Hope the med change times help you out.
Avatar n tn I have to be very careful about what I wear as my shoulders and chest can be covered in wet splashes in a few moments. I live in a semi-tropical place with high humidity and the older I get the worse this problem gets but I cannot blame just the climate. When I travel to cold climates I'm fine until I go inside a shop and then the waterfall begins. I have developed a bit of social anxiety which can make me sweat but I don't know which is cause and which is effect.
Avatar f tn uncontrollable mood swings that sweep over my body and make me want to cry(these are not brought on by anything except lying down, and a feeling of losing my stomach and tingling all over usually accompanies this)(I have NEVER done this before); intollerance to heat and humidity(my hands and feet feel like they are swelling and they get tingly and numb; my vision becomes hazy and I get light headed and fatigued); problems with sexual function; a feeling of being very aware of my own heart beat;
Avatar n tn I am another person suffering from chronic itchy hands and feet. There are small blisters under my skin that itch like crazy until they pop and leave me with peeling skin. The previous poster who mentioned "Dyshidrotic Excema" may be right, at least in my case. I googled it and when I read that it was affected by humidity and hot weather, I said "yowsa!" the first time I dealt with this problem, I had just moved to Florida in August!!! It was unbearable until around October.
Avatar n tn Everything came back normal except my spine has osteoarthritis and scoliosis and a couple bone spurs. So maybe thats the reason. I asked a doctor and she looked at me like I was crazy and prescribed ativan for anxiety and albuterol for the wheeze. I am afraid to ask any other doctor, due to they just give you that funny look and say "it sounds like your breathing", I even asked my husband and he said the same thing.
Avatar f tn I get these unexplained chills all the time, where im freezing cold with goose bumps all over my body. They hurt and I can barely walk they are so bad sometimes. I check my temp when I get these episodes and its perfectly normal. I do not have a infection or am not sick. Im not even in a cold environment. Everyone around me is not cold. Its the weirdest thing, and I cant find a answer for it. Its like my body is messed up and sending these chills for no reason. Please help.
Avatar f tn ( I too have been diagnosed with BRP, and the only relief is from ice--but that feels so hopeless to me. Are there any other cures/solutions? I can not bear the thought of having to endure this torture the rest of my life. Makes me want to cry!
Avatar n tn I feel like my body's thermostat is broken and I'm constantly overheating. I've been taking Claritin and Benadryl but that doesn't seem to help at all. My doctor also gave me a prescription medicine called Atarax, which only makes me drowsy and doesn't help the itchy feeling. Any suggestions? Btw, I've taken blood tests to see if there is anything wrong but everything came out fine.
Avatar f tn I am having the similar problems. I feel dizzy and then my heart starts racing and I feel like I need to have a bowel movement. It is very scary. This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/235578'>VAGUS NERVE and STOMACH or HEART LURCHES (spasms)</a>.
