Avatar n tn I took an Ortho Tri-Cyclen birth control pill this morning & have been experiencing accelerated heart rate, difficulty breathing and numbness of the limbs. What do these symptoms indicate & what steps should I take?
1699847 tn?1306967171 I have been on the pill for years now. I am currently on Ortho-tri-cyclen-lo and I am thinking about switching to Seasonique so I won't get 12 periods a year. I want to be on a pill that won't make me gain weight or give me major acne. Any tips/help.
Avatar n tn After 5 years on it, she switched from Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo to Ortho Tri Cyclen in May. (She had breakthrough bleeding, no serious side effects.) When she switched, she hasn't found me attractive and is severely questioning whether we're meant to be together. There are moments where she shows she's still interested, and she describes herself as having mixed emotions. (Mood swings maybe?
2020005 tn?1628125976 I stopped taking my Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo on the 20th of this month, but before I even stopped taking it (the 19th) I was having some light spotting, it continued for 3 days, just light brown/pink spotting, I noticed it was EW like, just brownish, does that mean I ovulated this month, or is that just a side effect of stopping my BC, having EWCM??? Is it possible to ovulate straight off from birth control?!
1163100 tn?1262843445 If the bleeding continues then you should call your doctor or read over the side effects. Sometimes bleeding like that is normal.
Avatar f tn ) last month and all was well up until the last week when I started spotting. Well because of my insurance I had to switch to Ortho Tri Cyclen this month so i decided to skip the brown placebo pills so i could "skip" my period, but on exactly Day 1 of Ortho Tri Cyclen it made me start my period Full on! I am on Day 3 and still have my period...... ugh!!!
737515 tn?1252552423 I went from ortho tri cyclen lo, to ortho cyclen, to ortho tri cyclen. All of which have made me have anxiety. I was on the depo shot for years and beside minor bone loss i had no issues. Is there anyone who has had this problem and actually found an answer?? I am sexually active and not ready for a child at all.
Avatar f tn I went to the gyno yesterday and was given Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo to help regulate my periods. I have not had a period since March 2008. My doc told me to begin my first month of pills on the Sunday following the beginning of my next period. Problem is, i don't have any idea when that could be. Does anyone know if it would be harmful for me to begin taking the pills now and not wait for my next period?
Avatar f tn Hello there, Irregular vaginal bleeding and spotting are few common side effects of Ortho tricycle use. These effects gradually decrease after 2-3 months of its use. Heavy and persistent bleeding can lead to weakness, dizziness and hypotension. If the symptoms are severe and persistent it is suggested to contact your healthcare professional. I sincerely hope it helps. Best wishes and regards!
Avatar f tn I started taking ortho tri-cyclen birth control pills since august 4, 2013 to help regulate my periods. I started my cycle/bleeding august 14 to 24 which was very odd to me b/c my cycles r 5-6 days long but this time it wasn't and my period came august 14, 2013 but it would usually come At the end of the month or sometimes the beginning or not at all. So since my period came then and lasted that long, does that mean my period is trying to get back on track?
Avatar n tn I had my lap surgery in August 09, and have been on continuous BC since October 09 and my period (or breakthrough bleeding) hasn't stopped since I switched over - now going on 7 months! Previously I was taking Ortho-Tri-Cyclen Lo and since October I've tried Ortho Cyclen, Necon 1/35 (Ortho-Novum), Apri (Desogen), and now Zovia (Demulen). Sorry if this has been asked before, but does anyone who has tried taking continuous BC to stop their period have any insights on how long it took?
Avatar n tn I just recently started taking a Ortho tri-cyclen and I was wondering if starting birth control could cause your period to be delayed?
Avatar f tn I was previously on Ortho Tri Cyclen for a year an a half. I stopped taking it about 6 months ago and was off the pill for that time period. I just started a new pill called Lo Lestren Fe on September 2nd and I started spotting pretty heavily for the past 9 days and it still hasn't stopped.

Avatar m tn I was debating between Ortho Cyclen, Ortho Tri Cyclen or Othro Tri Cyclen Lo.. I am currently on Ortho Cyclen but I was thinking why am I pumping all this hormones into my body each month. Me and my partner also use condoms as backup. I am even willing to try other brands if 1 is better? I guess I just dont under the difference between them all and the effect on your body good/bad. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Hi there! So glad you posted this...I'm having a very similar problem! I just stopped taking Ortho Tri Cyclen-Lo this month. It's been a little over 2 weeks, so not long at all. At the beginning of this week, I started getting mild cramps and very light spotting. I was excited because I thought these might be signs of pregnancy (although hubby and I were somewhat shocked it could happen within a few weeks of getting off the pill)!
284738 tn?1283106819 I haved a couple of different questions. I had aubree 6 months ago and I have been on ortho tri cyclen lo for about 3 months now and I love it!!! Matt (dh) and I want to start trying to have another child when aubree is about 13 or 14 months old... when should i take myself off the pill.. 3 or 4 months ahead of time?
Avatar m tn I have had a hormonal imbalance for 2 years (producing too much androgen) and in that time I had gained quite a bit of weight. I am now taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen and have actually begun to FINALLY start losing weight. My weight loss is not much yet, but I was wondering if taking these birth control pills is actually the reason for my weight loss?
Avatar f tn Ortho Evra®, Ovcon® 35, Ortho Tri-Cyclen®, Othro-Cyclen®, Necon® 1/35, Alesse®, Levlite®, Tri-Levlen or Trivora.
Avatar n tn for me, one with either none of my most hated side effects, or very moderate side effects. Here is a little history of each one I've tried already: First, Ortho-Novum 7/7/7-- Started about half a year ago. Started taking it, had bad vomiting and nausea, but nonetheless was my first time with birth controll pills. Over time, my sex drive/libido was totally diminished, and I was developing minor crabbiness. Second-- Yaz.
Avatar n tn ...ive been on ortho tri cyclen for 11 months never missed a pill and never had any problems....untill this month I had bleeding exactly one week before my period it was very light pink only noticable when i wipe it happened for a day and a half.....so i wated for my period and it was 1 day late andnot like it usually is ...its usually very flowing....but its brown /bright red.....and if i use a tampon it only fills a quarter of it so its like im just spotting....
Avatar f tn I have been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for almost 6 months. I always got my period when I started my green pills but this month I didnt. But as soon as I finished the green pill I had a light brown discharge only once. Just wondering what this could be?
Avatar f tn I was taking Ortho Tri Cyclen. that helped me.. then they switched me to the patch. I did not like that one at all. then they put me on the Nuvaring. I didn't like that one either because sometimes it would fall out or not fall out it would move and I could feel it and I have to go to the bathroom and fix it. so I would say Ortho Tri Cyclen. but everybody has their own opinions.
Avatar f tn I believe they are real and they are causing you trouble because your hormones have been permanently altered as a result of the pregnancies. You said yourself that you had no issues with Ortho tri cyclen before you got pregnant now all the sudden you've had babies and you can't tolerate it. As for what to do about it, that I'm really not sure of that, but I bet you any dollar amount that it's a hormonal issue. I hope that at least helps you realize you're not crazy.
Avatar f tn I have been using Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo for about 4 years with no interruptions and very few missed pills, no missed pills in the past 2 months. I am sexually active with my husband (we do not use condoms) of 5 years and we had a child together 4.5 years ago. I am exactly 1 week away from my inactive pills and started getting a brown discharge today what may be causing this?
Avatar n tn This is my first month on ortho tri cyclen lo. I started on the first day of my period and it had been shorter than usual. Then towards the end of the month when I started taking the dark blue pills I started spotting, but then towards the last 3 pills it started to flow like a regular period. Does this mean I'm going to get a period on the green pills?
