Ortho tri cyclen birth control

Common Questions and Answers about Ortho tri cyclen birth control

Avatar n tn Yes, any birth control you start can cause your period to be delayed. Or you could get spotting or breakthrough bleeding in the middle of a pack. All of that is normal.
Avatar f tn I have been on Ortho Tri-cyclen for a month now and my period is continuing with spotting most days and a more regular flow on others along with extreme tiredness by the afternoon, brain fog, and dry skin. The tiredness and brain fog is affecting my work. I can barely keep my eyes open by 3pm. Could the bcp be interacting with my Synthroid and my levels have become too low? My husband thinks I need to contact my gyno, and I think I need to have my TSH checked. Any thoughts?
Avatar m tn at least not to give me significant or long-lasting changes. I went to a new dermatologist on Friday, who prescribed me spironolactone, Ortho Tri Cyclen, and a topical face care system. So far, the face care system is helping a little bit [it's only been 2-3 days], although drying out my skin because of the salicylic acid. HOWEVER, I've read so, so, so many reviews on spironolactone alone, and have heard that women sometimes break out worse before their skin gets better.
Avatar f tn I started taking ortho tri-cyclen birth control pills since august 4, 2013 to help regulate my periods. I started my cycle/bleeding august 14 to 24 which was very odd to me b/c my cycles r 5-6 days long but this time it wasn't and my period came august 14, 2013 but it would usually come At the end of the month or sometimes the beginning or not at all. So since my period came then and lasted that long, does that mean my period is trying to get back on track?
Avatar n tn I have been taking birth control pills for about 6 years (Ortho tri cyclen lo for about 5). I never had side effects until recently. In the last 6-8 months, I've gained 20 pounds with no change in diet or exercise and have been extremely emotional during my period. What could be the reason for the sudden change. Thanks!
Avatar n tn I have been taking ortho-tri cyclen continuously for nine years. I always start my new pack one week after I finish the reminder pills and on a Sunday. I had some trouble getting in touch with my doctor to get my prescription refilled this time, however, and I have missed 4 straight days. My doctor's nurse told me to wait until after my next period to start the pack since I had missed so much. But, I am worried about the hormonal response that might have.
Avatar f tn Hi there, Birth control pills do not affect the fertility of any woman. After stopping birth control pills it may take some time for your periods to normalize and ovulation to resume. In few women it may take 2weeks to ovulate while in others it may take 2-3 months. Ovulation predictor kits can help detect LH surge and can be helpful in finding when you are ovulating. If you still fail to ovulate see a gynecologist .A clinical evaluation will be helpful. Best lucks and regards!
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. Alrighty, well, after 4 years of being on my trusty Ortho Tri-Cyclen lo, I'm switching birth control due to my mom's change in insurance. I am now taking Aviane. I decided that if by the end of this month, I'm not happy with it, I'm just changing back to OTC lo, but I was just wondering what I can expect from Aviane - namely regarding sex drive. With OTC-lo, I had the highest sex drive of all the girls I know put together. I was horny ALL the time.
Avatar f tn Birth control shouldnt affect your chance on getting pregnant, your still having periods so your still producing eggs, after the pill it does take longer to get pregnant x
Avatar n tn I am on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo. I had a UTI infection and was on antibiotics for seven days (twice a day). I don't remember the name of the medication. Right after I took my last pill, I got my period like normal (on the third day of my inactive birth control pills), and it ended on my first white pill. I missed my day 6 pill, did not realize it on day 7 (on this day I took the day 6 pill only), and realized it this morning (day 8).
Avatar n tn Because I am at risk for blood clots, the doctor was hesitant about putting me on the normal pill so she recommended a progestin-only form of birth control (normal birth control contains both progestin and estrogin). There were two types she recommended: a progestin-only pill (also known as the "Mini-pill") or an implant that will automatically release the hormone. The implant is the size of a matchstick and placed in the upper inside of your arm.
Avatar f tn Has anyone been on Ortho Cycling birth control? If so has anyone had any problems on it or side effects? Weight gain, boob size anything?
Avatar f tn My question is if anyone has tried the BC pill called 'Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo' or any other low dose birth control method that has worked fairly well for them. Of course I know there is always going to be some type of side-effect, but I would like to keep them to a minimum.
1303947 tn?1275538684 I love everything about the pill Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, except that very often my period will start a week early, when I start the blue pills. I then bleed for a full period like normal, while taking a pill every day. The problem is, when I need to take the green sugar pills and have my period when it is actually due, I then have a second full period back-to-back with the first one. This is getting really repetitive and I'd like it to stop.
Avatar n tn I am 3 days late starting a new pack of Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. I had a normal period on the last pack and didn't have sex during the last few pills, or at all since not starting my new pack. My question is, how do i take my new pack once i get them and have been off the pill for 3 or more days? And is there any risk that I could be pregnant even if i haven't had sex since before my period?
Avatar f tn I am one day late on my period and I am on Ortho tri-cyclen lo. My period usually comes every 28 days. I have been on this pill for about 8 months now and I have only missed three dark blue pills but that was last month and I've had my period since then. I spotted two days before my period and then had my period. I had protected sex four days before my period was due but I'm late so now I am very stressed out.
Avatar f tn Hello ! I've started my first month on birth control. It's Ortho Tri Cylcen. And Sunday I was supposed to start my period. (In other words, I'm on my green pill right now this week.) But It's Monday afternoon, and I still haven't started my period. Saturday night I did have unprotected sex, for a matter of two minutes. (Stuck it in, a few thrusts, and I was like, no way!) He wasn't fully hard either. Now I'm just wondering if skipping a period for the first month or whatever is common?
Avatar m tn I was debating between Ortho Cyclen, Ortho Tri Cyclen or Othro Tri Cyclen Lo.. I am currently on Ortho Cyclen but I was thinking why am I pumping all this hormones into my body each month. Me and my partner also use condoms as backup. I am even willing to try other brands if 1 is better? I guess I just dont under the difference between them all and the effect on your body good/bad. Thanks!
Avatar f tn after last depo shot on august 6th and on september 22nd started ortho tri cyclen lo will i get my period and end of pack
Avatar n tn I have already posted a question, but I'm switching birth control's Friday, and I'm think about going on Ortho Tri-Cyclen because I heard it's almost the best birth control you can find. Any other suggestions??
Avatar f tn I recently started birth control and my doctor put me on Tri-Sprintec which is the generic version of Ortho Tri-Cyclen. Anyways, I was hoping going on the pill would help with my breakouts, however, I'm a week into it and my forehead is breaking out like crazy and I'm getting huge painful cysts which I don't usually get. Could the birth control be to blame ? I don't even want to leave my house!
