Ortho tri-cyclen and weight gain

Common Questions and Answers about Ortho tri-cyclen and weight gain

ortho-tri-cyclen

Avatar m tn I have had a hormonal imbalance for 2 years (producing too much androgen) and in that time I had gained quite a bit of weight. I am now taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen and have actually begun to FINALLY start losing weight. My weight loss is not much yet, but I was wondering if taking these birth control pills is actually the reason for my weight loss?
1699847 tn?1306967171 I have been on the pill for years now. I am currently on Ortho-tri-cyclen-lo and I am thinking about switching to Seasonique so I won't get 12 periods a year. I want to be on a pill that won't make me gain weight or give me major acne. Any tips/help.
737515 tn?1252552423 I went from ortho tri cyclen lo, to ortho cyclen, to ortho tri cyclen. All of which have made me have anxiety. I was on the depo shot for years and beside minor bone loss i had no issues. Is there anyone who has had this problem and actually found an answer?? I am sexually active and not ready for a child at all.
Avatar f tn And as for the weight thing...I took it for over two year and never gained any wheight and it dramatically reduced my acne. I have never gained weight from a BCP only the shot (depo) but everyone is different......if it does make you gain weight its supposed to be minor.
Avatar n tn I had my lap surgery in August 09, and have been on continuous BC since October 09 and my period (or breakthrough bleeding) hasn't stopped since I switched over - now going on 7 months! Previously I was taking Ortho-Tri-Cyclen Lo and since October I've tried Ortho Cyclen, Necon 1/35 (Ortho-Novum), Apri (Desogen), and now Zovia (Demulen). Sorry if this has been asked before, but does anyone who has tried taking continuous BC to stop their period have any insights on how long it took?
1250698 tn?1371351279 I've been on Ortho-cyclen, Ortho-tri-cyclen, Ortho-tri-cyclen Lo, Nuvaring. The types I have not tried was progesterone only, shots, IUD, and implants. Nuvaring was my latest and that was the worst experience I have ever had. Every single type I have used, I have had the same symptoms: nausea, headaches, dizziness, irregular cycles, spotting, weight gain, and mood swings. Since May of this year, I have been doing it naturally, but I am still trying to figure out when I ovulate...
Avatar f tn I also am on birth control and have been for the past three years but did just chance from ortho tri cyclen lo to regular ortho tri cyclen, about three months ago. Do you have any advice? I am in college and these headaches make it very hard to study. Thank you!
Avatar f tn I use ortho Tri-Cyclen and it actually states Tri-Cyclen on the pack. It is a blister pack that you have to punch the pills out through. The last week is green pills. Hope this helps.
284738 tn?1283106819 I haved a couple of different questions. I had aubree 6 months ago and I have been on ortho tri cyclen lo for about 3 months now and I love it!!! Matt (dh) and I want to start trying to have another child when aubree is about 13 or 14 months old... when should i take myself off the pill.. 3 or 4 months ahead of time?
Avatar f tn ) last month and all was well up until the last week when I started spotting. Well because of my insurance I had to switch to Ortho Tri Cyclen this month so i decided to skip the brown placebo pills so i could "skip" my period, but on exactly Day 1 of Ortho Tri Cyclen it made me start my period Full on! I am on Day 3 and still have my period...... ugh!!!
Avatar m tn I was debating between Ortho Cyclen, Ortho Tri Cyclen or Othro Tri Cyclen Lo.. I am currently on Ortho Cyclen but I was thinking why am I pumping all this hormones into my body each month. Me and my partner also use condoms as backup. I am even willing to try other brands if 1 is better? I guess I just dont under the difference between them all and the effect on your body good/bad. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Ortho Evra®, Ovcon® 35, Ortho Tri-Cyclen®, Othro-Cyclen®, Necon® 1/35, Alesse®, Levlite®, Tri-Levlen or Trivora.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I'm usually on the Maternal and Child Health forum because I had a baby girl last year. But my question is more about women's health so, here I am :) I'm on birth control pills called Tri-sprintec. It's the generic of Ortho Tri-cyclen. I stopped taking them for a little while partly because my partner and I really have no time to be intimate and it's hard for me to remember to take them everyday. Anyhow, I started taking them again two months ago.
Avatar f tn I have been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for almost 6 months. I always got my period when I started my green pills but this month I didnt. But as soon as I finished the green pill I had a light brown discharge only once. Just wondering what this could be?
Avatar n tn I take Ortho Tri-cyclen and I have never experienced those effects at all. Are you on any other meds?
Avatar f tn I have been on Ortho Tri Cylen Lo and it will regulate your cycle or should I say it did it for me.
Avatar f tn I started taking ortho tri-cyclen birth control pills since august 4, 2013 to help regulate my periods. I started my cycle/bleeding august 14 to 24 which was very odd to me b/c my cycles r 5-6 days long but this time it wasn't and my period came august 14, 2013 but it would usually come At the end of the month or sometimes the beginning or not at all. So since my period came then and lasted that long, does that mean my period is trying to get back on track?
Avatar f tn My friend was on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo and said that it made her depressed and suicidal. I have a history of being extremely sensitive to all kinds of medications. We'll see how it goes.
Avatar f tn Ok, so I was on Ortho-cyclen for ten years before I got married and had two kids. It worked great for me with no issues at all!! I have two pregnancies pretty much back to back so it has been a couple years since I have been on anything.

Avatar n tn I have already posted a question, but I'm switching birth control's Friday, and I'm think about going on Ortho Tri-Cyclen because I heard it's almost the best birth control you can find. Any other suggestions??
1211118 tn?1366759953 Im on ortho tri cyclen, but thinking of getting the implanon. The mirena scares me lol, my friends got stuck and another one had alot of bleeding from it!
Avatar n tn t want to worry or alarm you, but Ortho Tri-Cyclen *****!!!! I was on that pill for at least 6 months and ennded up getting pregnant. So did 12 other women. Then after I had my son an I had gone back to work an regular customer came in..Thought she had the flu cuz she'd been sick for 2 wks, turns out she was pregnant.
Avatar n tn I just recently started taking a Ortho tri-cyclen and I was wondering if starting birth control could cause your period to be delayed?
Avatar f tn I am on ortho tri cyclen lo and am also prone to yeast infections. I want to try Azo Yeast to help control it. Will Azo interact with the pill?
2020005 tn?1628125976 I stopped taking my Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo on the 20th of this month, but before I even stopped taking it (the 19th) I was having some light spotting, it continued for 3 days, just light brown/pink spotting, I noticed it was EW like, just brownish, does that mean I ovulated this month, or is that just a side effect of stopping my BC, having EWCM??? Is it possible to ovulate straight off from birth control?!
Avatar f tn I was taking Ortho Tri Cyclen. that helped me.. then they switched me to the patch. I did not like that one at all. then they put me on the Nuvaring. I didn't like that one either because sometimes it would fall out or not fall out it would move and I could feel it and I have to go to the bathroom and fix it. so I would say Ortho Tri Cyclen. but everybody has their own opinions.
Avatar n tn that's not true. i'm on ortho tri cyclen lo right now and ....not pregnant. if you have issues with remembering to take pills (which i do) set yourself a timer. (which is what i do) and use condoms b/c no form of b/c is 100%. i'm married and my dh and i use them even now while i'm taking b/c.
