ortho evra versus nuvaring

On the contrary I can tell you one I wouldn't recommend!! Ortho-Evra. Horrible. I was only on it for four months because I just couldn't take it, I was severely moody, depressed, low sex drive, and when I went off it, I swear if someone even looked at me funny I was in tears. I believe because it is only a weekly thing there were more hormones than say the Ortho-TriCyclen Lo would have. IMO, I've always felt the lowest dose is probably the best.

I have been on Ortho Evra for a year now. I have been diagnosed with PCOS, although, aside from being irregular I haven't ever had any other symptoms with it. I went on Ortho Evra because I was really anemic, and the irregularity was annoying me, so the patches fixed both. I loved it up until the past month or two when I started noticing that I'm becoming crazy. Slowly I've become really paranoid and been thinking really morbid things.

I just finished my first three weeks of Ortho Evra. I've now had the patch off for 6 days and have not started my period. Is this normal? I had a pap smear and internal exam done 4 days ago...would my doctor have been able to tell if I were pregnant?

I am 19 years old and I am using Ortho Evra patch for contraception and I have been for five months. I have never been pregnant before, but I am beginning to think I have some symptoms even though I have NOT missed or had any late/irregular periods. -I've been feeling a pulse in my stomach especially when I lay down and press on the mid part of my stomach just above the belly button.

I am currently on the implanon but will be switching to the ortho evra patch . What are some thoughts or opinions on this birth control ? Is there anything bad you experienced or maybe some good effects to it ? ADVICE ?

So, I started taking Ortho Evra back in 2002 to regulate my cycles, I took it for a couple of years and it worked just fine. I wasn't sexually active so I wasn't needing it to prevent pregnancy. I stopped taking it in 2006. My cycles had been pretty irregular, they were all over the calendar, but this last 10 months, they had been particularly bad, every 20-22 days.

I took ortho evra for about 4 years and had irregular periods for about a year after i stopped. We have now been ttc for 2 years and are finally seeing a RE next week. My dr gave me progestin pills to help regulate my periods and when that didnt work i took clomid. that did regulate them. I blame my infertility on the patch even though my dr swears it is not to blame. Good luck! Happy to answer any other questions. Maybe my experience can help.

I'm on the ortho evra patch and I always put it in the same spot. I got a rash in that spot so I moved my patch and that week with the patch on I started my period as I would when not wearing it. I was on it that full time then I took my patch off for my actual period week and was still bleeding. So a total of two weeks on my period. Is this normal when moving the patch to a different part of the body?

When I was 18 I finally got on birth control to regulate it. I started on Ortho Tri Cyclin and then switched to Ortho Evra. I was on Ortho Evra for about 5 years and had no difficulties with it and my period became normal. I stopped taking all birth control in August of 2008. I was expecting to have an irregular period again, but it is much worse. On average I've been getting my "period" about every two months, but I bleed much more than that.

I have a question for anyone using the Ortho Evra Patch to help control their endometriosis. It says right on the box that you are exposed to 60% more estrogen using the patch then other birth control pills. Since estrogen "feeds" endometriosis, how does this make sense? I have been advised by my doctor after 6 months of Lupron injections, to use the patch consistantly (not having a patch off week and not getting a period) until we are ready to get pregnant.

I have been using the ortho-evra patch for about 5 months now. About a month ago I had a boil and was prescribed Doxycline. I did not know at the time that this anti-biotic can interfere with your birth control. I had unprotected sex with my husband during this time. so im on the ortho evra patch and i accidently misunderstood and took it off too early i took it off monday the 21st and had sex wednesday the 23rd well the condom busted and well yeah well i took plan b one step within 6 hours of it happenein and put my birth control patch on as instructed to do so by my pharmacist guess im just asking how concerned should i be that im pregnant

I was taking Ortho Tri Cyclen. that helped me.. then they switched me to the patch. I did not like that one at all. then they put me on the Nuvaring. I didn't like that one either because sometimes it would fall out or not fall out it would move and I could feel it and I have to go to the bathroom and fix it. so I would say Ortho Tri Cyclen. but everybody has their own opinions.

I was on the patch, ortho evra, it worked good I guess, I didn't end up pregnant again until I quit using it, I believe I gained weight on it though, its one of the side effects but I seem to be prone to gaining weight every time I'm on birth control.

Hi, I'm on my second month of ortho evra patches and I think I may be pregnant. I have swollen breast and they're tender, I have veins on my breast, my lower back hurts, I've gotten sick every night for the past two weeks. My period was late last month and it was super light. I'm took a dollar store test and it said neg. I'm thinking maybe my "period" wasn't a period.

I started taking Ortho Tri Lo on Dec 30, the next day I threw up my second active pill. I took the rest of my pills on time. I switched to Necon 1/35 after only one cycle of Ortho Tri Lo. I did not take my Ortho Tri Lo inactive pills, instead I started my Necon 1/35 immediately. I have been taking the Necon 1/35 for about 11 days now. My breasts are very tender and I experienced some light brown spotting a few days ago. Should I be concerned about pregnancy?
