Common Questions and Answers about Orapred concentration

orapred

Avatar f tn During our last ER visit for allergic reaction (severe stridor), the doc wasn't thrilled we gave Orapred along with the Benadryl .. he said in her case iI should have used the Epi Pen and called 911 ... but he tolerated that I gave the Orapred with high end Benadryl dosing and then, of course, had to tell me I gave too little Orapred (with a stern look on his face), so they administered more in the hospital ... ok ok .... the bottle was over a year old & the dose was too little ....

Avatar n tn Her symptoms are swollen tonsils, puss pockets at times on the tonsils, skin tenderness, puffy face. She has been on Orapred for the inflammation and that seems to help. Just wanted to know if these were any symptoms of that disease.
327369 tn?1326119908 these do not work during a cold and we always end up on Orapred (steriod). He has to have it though...........but we are on this a lot -----do you worry about the side effects of this if you have a child. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I decided to take her to a different allgerist for a second opinion. At this point she was placed on Zyrtec 5mg BID, Orapred 15 mg q daily x 5 days and Triamcinolone cream BID. The plaques were beginning to get better and I have seen some encouraging results regarding them. However, 2 days after finishing the Orapred, she has developed an extremely itchy rash from her neck almost to her knees. The rash is slightly raised and red.
Avatar n tn My 6 year old woke up one morning a month ago with a constant dry hacking half cough. He has been on Zithromax, pro air inhaler, qvar inhaler, and orapred. Nothing has helped. His lungs are clear so they have ruled out asthma. Now they are referring him to an allergy doctor. How can it be an allergy when he does not have any allergy symptoms? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn I have an 8 year old son that takes pulmicort, and just finished Orapred when I noticed a little bump in the back of his head. He scratches it alot, and I was told by the doctor to put cortizone on it. Because he had asthma, he more than likely had eczema. About a week later, his little bump turned into a big knot, and you can see it if he turns to the side. It itches more now that it has gotten bigger. I don't think it is eczema, but who am I? I am not a doctor.

Avatar n tn I am 37 years old. I am experiencing lots of stress in my marriage about whether I should stay in a marriage or not due to mistrust, other than that I just graduated college and am about to start a new career but I am experiencing severe "forgetfulness or concentration problems." I lost some critically important documents today, two of them, simply because I just did not pick them up and put them away after using them and I seem to be that way about everything I touch.
Avatar f tn So Yes, you definitely need to try and figure out what the problem is and get help for it. Lack of concentration is a classic ADHD trait. The fastest way to get the best help is through a good child psychologist who specializes in ADHD. If that's not possible, then the next best is probably her family doctor. It is worth asking your school about gettting her in special ed.
Avatar f tn We took him into a learning institution who does the assessment for children on their educational capabilities and the assessment was he doesnt have concentration as he easily get turn his attention into a thing which attract him. Though he attended into pre-school since he was 3 years old they said he even not ready for kindergarden while according to his age he supposed to be in grade one. They advised us to consult teacher psychology.. Is my son has a brain problem?
648720 tn?1227637088 I, too, have great difficulty with concentration. It is due to my meds as well as my secondary diagnosis of anxiety. Anxiety in and of itself can cause concentration problems because of the way it effects the brain; it actually blocks your short term memory from picking up signals. It cannot be fixed with more meds, but you might notice some alleviation when you stop certain meds. You have to ask yourself which is the lesser of two evils.
Avatar n tn You may like to check out the doctor's comments to some questions about concentration dating back to November 7 2009. One is entitled, 'concentration' the other 'what do i do'. Basically they just say that there is other stuff on your mind. Stressing about stuff can also be exhausting.

Avatar n tn My son started doing a similar eye rolling back in Feb. I swear it started after a few doses of Orapred for Croup. Been to pediatrician, neurologist had EEG all came back good. When he rolls his eyes they either go up real quick or up to a side just for a second. I am torn if its a voluntary or involuntary action, sometimes I think he is doing it voluntarily and if thats the case I am not worried, but other times he looks like its involuntary.
Avatar m tn My concentration is awful and I can't live in the moment. I need help! Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn My question is, are there things that others have done to help with the forgetfulness and concentration? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
1842804 tn?1319756311 s a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, nonstimulant) and it does not help a great deal with fatigue, but it fixed my concentration/reading problem. The source of my attention/concentration problems is actually a low-level chronic dizziness of unknown cause. Not MS, presumably. But I do have highly abnormal brainstem evoked potentials, and I can't help but think that's related to my concentration/attention problem (solved by Strattera!
Avatar n tn This initially helped w/ the mouth ulcers but the one down my throat got much worse. I was given a Celestone inj and put on Orapred. Also taking Pepsid. Throat neg for strep and mouth ulcers neg for Herpes. This helped for about 3 days but then the pain has come back. I have also gotten a few more ulcers to my tongue and some of my gums are swollen. I have lost 9 pounds since the start of this b/c of the pain to eat.

Avatar f tn This season came around and sure enough, when he got a cold it went straight to lungs (wheezing, SOB, coughing) We started inhaled steroid (budesonide), albuterol regimen again. Proved unsuccessful to resolve cough. Round of Orapred proved unsuccessful to resolve cough. After four months we consulted with Pulmonologist. Switched up steriod to inhaled Flovent 44 instead of nebulizer and albuterol qid. No results. Chest x-ray and blood allergy (why not at this point) ordered and clear.
Avatar f tn My daughter has been coughing for a month now, it's not all the time. During this month she has had pink eye and a ear infection. The pink eye went away with meds, the ear infection is now on week 3. She took amoxicillon (the pink one) for 10 days, and now she's starting amoxicillon (the white one) for 10 more days. As for the cough, she has been prescribed 3 different meds for her cough pseudophedrine, prednisone (orapred), albuterol, and now prednisone again.
Avatar f tn About six years ago, I realized that I was really struggling with concentration. Now, after working four CALENDAR years on high school, I currently have only eight out of twenty-one credits (the equivalent to someone in tenth grade). I keep failing almost everything, but I feel that I could do much better. I used to earn straight A's, but gradually my grades declined, and my productivity has practically come to a halt.
Avatar n tn When I'm driving I frequently forget where I am and where I am going. Sometimes I feel panic because I think I've missed the exit. Sometimes I actually do miss the exit. In addition, I seem to lose my concentration - not only while driving but at work. I often appear stupid, as if I'm not understanding what my boss is trying to explain to me. I thought I was an intelligent person. I graduated from a prestigious uninversity. My verbal skills are exceptional.
