I have never understood why my dr would switch me to the 10 mg opana er 3 times a day when i was only taking 3 hydros a day. It was helping my pain and i had not increased my doseage in about 2 years. Do you think the opana is stronger than the hydrocodone 7.5? It seemed to affect me a lot differently.

Opana ER has been a LIVESAVING drug for me, non sedating, i can hold my huge babies and have no side effects, I highly recommended the ER, you take it only 2 x a day, I ran out one day before my pain doctor appt and am in excruciating pain in back and hips. Had no idea how well it was working until I am having to go 2 days without and about to DIE.

If you are uncomfortable with wearing three 100 mcg/hr patches, it is possible that your doctor could prescribe for you to wear two 100 mcg/hr patches and to take Oxycontin 40 mg 3x daily or Opana ER 20 mg 3x daily or MS Contin 60 mg 3x daily. The 200 mcg/hr Fentanyl patch combined with any of these options (Oxycontin, Opana ER, MS Contin) would yield a total daily dose of 360 mg of oxycodone a day.

Hi, Iknow it has been a few years since your post, i was wondering how you are doing on the Opana ER. I am switching from Opana 30 mg ER to Morphine 60 mg ER.The Opana gave me side effects, dizziness, being in withdrawl if I missed a dose, and it did not help my chronic pain.. I have tried many ER drugs and I am having a hard time finding many of them. Plus my breakthrough meds are also hard to find.

Last month, my pain management NP told me to drop from 10 mg Opana ER mg three times a day to 5 mg Opana ER three times a day. In both cases I have three 5 mg Opana IRs to take with the ER. I have found the ER really hard to decrease anymore on (I have decreased from 40 mg Opana ER three times a day plus the three 5 mg Opana IR).

I have been taking morphine er 50 mg twice a day, I have been having problems wih urinating, so Dr. switched to Opana er 10 MG. Will either medications cause kidney diseases.

However, after thinking about many of your online comments and the amount of breakthrough pain medicine I take daily along with discussion of my concerns with my doctor, we decided that 30 mg of Opana ER during the day was accurate. However, we reduced the nighttime dose to 15 mg. After starting to take Opana ER, the adjustment period was rough and the worst of it lasted about a week.

Normally I wouldn't comment on this but I will because it's dangerous to cut Opana if it's Opana ER. If you're running out of your meds early that's not a good sign.

You are taking Opana ER every 4-6 hours? Opana ER is meant to be taken every 12 hours, not every 4-6 hours. In fact, most insurance companies will not pay for extended release medications to be taken more than 2 times per day. I just detox off 50 mg OPANA ER in one week, I don't recommend it . The Doctor prescribed hydros the lowest MG 325 @ 3 a day , everything in my body hurts and my temper is short , anyone know a better way to cope with this ? I was one Opana for over 3 yrs , I feel like I'm jumping out of my skin.

my dr just put me on opana ER 10mg 2x day and 2 lortab day for breakthru...before that was prescribed and taking 4 norco 10/325 daily and was not controlling the pain...i've been in this constant flar-up phase few weeks... i've only been on opana er for 2 days so i know it takes around 5 days to kick in and dr says this mg is a starting point for me and will move up some accordingly...i'm glad and surprised that my pain has subsided some...

Hi! I really need help. I am on 30 mg Opana ER 3 times a day. I have had major surgery, but think I am hyper analgesic, and being this dependent on pills is scaring me (after 1 1/2 years)! I have been told I need to change to another short-acting medication prior to detoxing. One doctor told me he would change me to the Fentanyl Patch, then I could go through his detox program.

I have RSD/CRPS in my left foot from a motorcycle accident about 10 mos ago.I am taking Opana ER 30mg twice daily with 2- 10 mg IR a day for break through. I've tried several diff pain medications including oxycodone, and this works great for me. Ive been taking oxycontin 80, (6 day) & dilaudid 8 (8 day) for 15 years due to many health issues ... I was just put on opana 40 ER (4 day)& Opana 10 (4 day).
