Avatar f tn ll be going back this fall to work on my next degree (due in February) but will likely take only online classes for the first two semesters to accommodate my work schedule and pregnancy/newborn baby. I think it's a great idea to chip away at it a little at a time if you can. On the other hand - four classes sounds like a lot especially just after delivery. Don't take on more than you can handle with confidence.
Avatar n tn All of them were also college students. I was tested about two years ago for STDs and HIV. All were negative except Gonorrhea. I've been pretty healthy these past two years except for some reoccuring yeast infections and what seemed like a semester of diarrhea which could have been due to stress I suppose. I am scared to death to get tested because I feel like it will be positive. What do you think my probability is? Any thoughts Teak?
Avatar f tn I don't know anything about the online college but I do know that regular community colleges and universities offer online classes.
2011837 tn?1343797528 I went to an Adult Education with a lot of other teen moms, as well as regular high school students. Now i am doing online college classes through the local college.
Avatar m tn what are the college students risks? i cant seem to find it on the internet although i do see the leading cases are between the ages of 13 -24...but what is the latest statistic on college campuses among races?
Avatar f tn So. Im still in school. And , my mom is thinking about online school for me so I can stay home, and move at my own pase. Anyone do it, and make it to a good college.. thats my main goal. I want to be able to get into nursing school at a good college. Anyone done it or seen anyone else do it... opinions?
Avatar f tn did not cast a vote, I got to class in college however caution beware of someone line colleges, IMHO your best bet is to go to local community college, most have online classes,,the deal is you must go in 2 or 3 or 4 times per semester for in class testing..not so bad perhaps you couldmget a babysitter for those few times...

Avatar f tn I hope someone else on this forum will have some ideas for you. Since your daughter is in college, would it be possible for her to go to the infirmary and seek help there? Surely they must know that students don't always have insurance or a rich parent at their beck and call. Maybe you could call the school and inquire about that? Guess all they can say is no. Another option is for you to take her to the ER.
Avatar n tn HI Candice! Just wanted to give you a heads-up when it comes to taking the PSAT. You need to contact the College Board folks and obtain the necessary paperwork from your daughter's physician in order for her to be able to bring her glucometer, water, juice & snack into the test and also to be able to leave to check her bg if needed. I found this out very late in the game and had to do some pretty fancy footwork in order to get the approval in time for the test.
Avatar m tn It is common for a person to have a break in college, or any major life event such as divorce, high stress job etc.. Knowledge is power. Having said that I have bp1, and recently completed a B.A. but during the 4 years I was in school I was hospitalized once and narrowly avoided 2 others hospitalizations. I had numerous panic attacks, but like an earlier poster I utilized all available resources to help get me through.
148588 tn?1465778809 Did you assume my comment had anything to do with kids going to college? I was talking about something that I see our country can improve upon. Many other countries put resources into helping their young people find the right direction for themselves and we could do more of that. Teko, actually I think you put that very well and would agree regarding student loans. The rate shouldn't be higher than banks. That makes no sense.
Avatar f tn Do any of you guys go to college online? I'm looking for a new school.. I tried university of phoenix and didn't like it, I'm going for my bachelor's degree ..any suggestions on schools?
Avatar f tn Today I'm going to look at the college daycare for kayden. He is now four days old and doing great:) he's coming with me because my boyfriends at work and so isnt my dad. What kind of questions should I ask? He will be almost 3 months by the time school actually starts. I'm really nervous.
Avatar n tn Im not in college but talk to your advisor or your counselor; they could work something out with you.
Avatar f tn Hi, there are customer service jobs that you can do from home. You are the 'contact' person for a company. You need a computer and phone and possibly a fax. Someone has an issue or question, they ring a number or use the computer to contact the company---- they ring or contact YOU via computer and you help them and then report back to the company. Online teaching is also quite big these days. A good friend of mine was a math teacher before kids.
Avatar f tn By the way, does he prepare thoroughly for tests? Does he study? Preparation, feeling prepared, goes a long way to easing a test that actually measures what you've learned (it doesn't do a whole lot for tests that don't measure things we've learned). And I hope I was clear that if this is something that occurs for lots of things not just tests than yes, a psychologist would be a good idea.
7540649 tn?1395719596 Just curious if anyone else is a student right now? I'm in my last semester, and I'm finding it really difficult to concentrate. I'm wondering if that's because I'm pregnant or if it's just that I'm sick of university and just want to be done. I can't pull all nighters anymore, that's for sure.
Avatar m tn That's an awful broad brush to tar all 'college students' with pardner, just because a few students on one campus are idiots. I know at UT Austin the Liberal students would be horrified and would argue with his bigoted @$$ until they realized he was a put on, while the conservative students would simply whack him over the head with his clipboard.
Avatar f tn Are you in sports? Calories for college students vary because of differences in physical activity. Make sure your diet is mostly whole foods including low-fat dairy, whole-grains, lean protein, fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts and healthy oils. Don't skip breakfast. Don't get in the habit of staying up late, then rush to get to class. You need food to get your metabolism up, your energy levels will be low and you'll be starving and likely to overeat by lunch.
Avatar f tn I'm 15 days away from having my baby, but I'm getting so worried since I'm still in college. Anyone else in school and about to have their baby? Suggestions for staying caught up while I'm out of class?
Avatar f tn I am also in college...I'm 32 weeks. This semester is over, but I still have a semester left. I'm hoping my son comes before spring semester starts just so i can get the hang of getting up early and then I can add studying during free time. I can't wait to meet my little boy.
Avatar n tn Try a couple of supplements that are supposed to improve immune function, like echinachea and aloe juice. Avoid kids and college students (very buggy they are) until your immune function improves. Reduce stress. Sometimes it is just a combination of especially strong viruses and your immune system being a little out of kilter (stress, poor eating, winter blues, lots of causes) that gets you on a roll with several bugs in a row.
