387294 tn?1207620185 My son and daughter may be looking for health insurance after they leave college and are no longer dependents. My daughter has been diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic heart valve. She has a healthy heart and it is working well. With this impact her chances to get health insurance on her own? Will it impact our ability to continue her insurance after the cobra period is over on our insurance?

927707 tn?1244133034 I live in New Jersey and my husband and I need affordable health insurance. He owns his own business and we are paying close to $900 dollars a month for doctor visits, hospital, prescriptions, laboratory, diagnostics etc. We currently have United Health Care/ Oxford. We did have Cobra when I left my job, but that was too expensive $1300.00/ month. With our Cobra we didn't need referrals, but with Oxford we need referrals. Our copay is $30.00 for doctor visits and $50.00 for specialist.
290867 tn?1333569278 Something I learned from our insurance agent is that if you currently have health ins. MOST ins companies will pick you up if you choose to go with them. We were worried about not being able to switch because of pre-existing conditions, but she said we don't have to worry about that.
Avatar m tn Starting October 1, 2013 all states are scheduled to open an online Health Insurance Marketplace where you will be able to compare individual health insurance plans side by side. Depending on what state you live in, information on plans and premium rates may already to be available to you. Four plan types will be offered through the state exchanges (Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze).
Avatar n tn Dear jack1122, Dear jack1122, With your pr-existing condition you should contact the Illinois Comprehensive Health Insurance Plan which is guaranteed issue which means you can not be declined due to your pre-ex condition. You can browse their website @ http://www.chip.state.il.us/ and use their “EXPLORE THE CHIP WEBSITE” tool (especially look for the premium calculator under UTILITIES) and call them at Toll Free 866-851-2751 or 217-782-6333 if you have any questions.
Avatar n tn What are the best health insurance sites/companies/agents? When you search health insurance you get ehealthinsurance.com, and healthinsurance.org, and http://www.HealthPlanOne.com as the top 3 but I want to know if you have found better ones than these ones.
1667689 tn?1303337973 Thank you. Unfortunately we had been with Kaiser for 26 years then dropped our coverage to go to Mexico as missionaries for 1.5 years. When we returned we tried to get back on with them but because of pre-existing conditions that were found under their coverage, they denied me coverage. That is why I am in the place I am in. I did find a no insurance/lower income clinic which I went to and now I am waiting to hear the results of my ultrasound.
Avatar f tn Like someone else said , the ONLY way to know how your insurance works and what is covered is to call your insurance and ask about your specific policy. I worked for a major health insurance company for years and the biggest mistake you can make is not calling them in advance. I also recommend finding out what options you have for permanent coverage for your baby.
1063764 tn?1272821064 I'm a 23 year old female without medical insurance. I need to see two different specialists, one of them a few times a year. But because I don't have insurance I can't afford to anymore. I have not been able to find an individual health care plan for myself that I can afford. I currently don't have a job, but as soon as I am employed medical insurance is one of the things I'll be getting. Can anyone guide me in a direction so I can find some health care plans that suit me?
Avatar m tn I tested for HIV today, and have plans to test for herpes, syphilis, NGU and gonorrhea in the next few days. I am, like many americans without health care insurance , and am in no place to spend a lot of money on a disease that resolves itself. The "warts" (using quotes because its not a definitive diagnosis) are painless, small, and barely any trouble. Would it be necessary for me to seek treatment for it?
Avatar f tn I want to know is there anyone that knows of a reputable site online where I can buy antivirals without a prescription? I do not have any insurance. If there is anyone that has had good experiences with one, please let me know. Thanks.
Avatar m tn There are many options for std testing. You can look up your local health departments online to see where your closest std testing center is. They typically do not offer type specific herpes igg blood testing though so to cover that base, you'll need to go elsewhere. You also can usually get tested in most states through online std testing sites. You pay them via credit card and go to your nearest testing site to have the testing done.
Avatar f tn I am 23 and have 6 points on my license, and when i did a search for insurance online i was getting quotes ranging from £500-1200 pounds, however, there was no where in the online form that i could notify the search of me having MS. when i requested a quote through the M.S Society the cheapest quote i received was £4600 rising to £5000 if i pay in installments.
Avatar f tn I'm stay at home Mom and 34 weeks pregnant, my husband might be out of job before the baby is born and I'm trying to figure out what are my options for health insurance. Has anyone had to go through this situation before ? Any suggestions would be helpful.
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar f tn can someone walk me through the process of getting health insurance? I don't currently have any, and I'm already seeing how expensive this pregnancy will be without it. I had my first visit yesterday and it's cost $240 out of pocket. I'm 18 on August 28th, any advice?
Avatar n tn (feeling great by the way) I have been trying to switch my insurance, as the one who covered during TX has been, over the last few years increasing me at 30% per annum...to the point of perhaps forcing me to drop all together.almost 4 times other quotes I am seeing. New policys are affordable but with HEP C in my past, & even with no other illness, and being told treatment as a success and cured...
Avatar n tn i have a family of six and i have been looking for heath insurance for my fammily for too long i want to get the best plan possible for my family. i know that hmo's aren't the best. so i am looking for coverage that has PPO's. what is the best one for my family to have.
1301089 tn?1290666571 Heath care reform was an idea I supported but the goal should have been to promote health care coverage not insurance coverage and provide more options rather than to have insurance coverage be mandatory.
Avatar m tn ok about 2 months ago i just apply for medicaid health insurance and i am moving next to Pennsylvania will my insurance still work out there?
Avatar f tn Is it safe to order medication from online pharmacies? Are these sites genuine?
505094 tn?1240317431 I live in Maine. When I was reading the news online the other day I came across an article that said the people in Maine have had their health records loaded on to HealthInfoNet. This is a health tracking site that would keep everyone's personal health information in one place. Their goal was to save money by eliminating paperwork and also to make it possible for any doctor, anywhere, to access this information, thus to save lives.
