depression

Avatar f tn Geodon was approved as an antipsychotic for its primary use all over the world. Geodon has some concerns such as heart arrythmia though and its the only antipsychotic with this problem (out of the ones approved in the U.S. at least). Generally out of all of the antipsychotics Abilify is the least likely to cause weight gain and diabetes and sedation. Geodon was used more for a while because of this but Abilify is generally used more now. Did you ask about that one?
Avatar n tn 11PWhilst on vacation in the USA I became sick and had to go to the local hospital where it was found that my heart was pausing for any thing up to 7-9 seconds. It was decided that, following a stress test, I should be fitted with a pace-maker. After about 9 days I returned home to the UK where,as far as I know, the pacer is working as it should. BUT I now suffer from bouts of deep depression. I do not want to bother the doctor but could the two things be linked????
Avatar m tn So you can definitely expect your most recent HIV test to also be negative. If it was a duo test for both HIV antibody and p24 antigen, which I believe is now the norm in UK GUM clinics, the result will be conclusive, since it was done a bit over 4 weeks since the exposure. If your symptoms continue or you otherwise remain concerned, continue to work with your GUM clinic -- or, if they recommend it, your GP. In the meantime, do your best to put HIV and other STDs out of your mind.
Avatar m tn But time and time again, whenever I ever have occasional bouts of depression...and even severe depression. Primrose Oil has worked like a godsend. I even told my sister to try it , and she couldn't believe it either. Whenever i'm very irritable , angry , depressed , anxious.. I take a 1000 MG's of Primrose Oil a day...and ALL OF THAT goes away. I feel soooo calm and relaxed everyday after. It only takes a day or 2 to start working. and by the 3rd day, you'll definately notice it.
Avatar n tn I know that being without drugs so early after you last detox, you must have a hell of a depression right now, and this on top of it is no better, but it is a test, and I believe you will make it through with flying colors. Please don't use GWH, I don't want you to be in pain again, not for this, not for a pill. I suck at condolences, but please hang on, at least for today.
Avatar n tn I want to suggest that we get you in touch with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Online Diabetic Support Team for some one-on-one encouragement. Go to the website www.jdrf.org and click on the link on the left side of the page for the Online Diabetic Support Team (ODST). This will bring you to a window where you can answer some questions so we can best match you up with one of our volunteers, and you will hear from someone within a couple of days.
Avatar m tn Nancy, Welcome to this test site. Comment, won't you?
Avatar f tn I was just wondering if anyone has been on birth control pills and have suffered from anxiety or depression issues? I have been on the pill for 11yrs now and cant take how I am feeling anymore. I went on the pill for irregular periods, but since then I have been feeling blah, libido has decreased severely, I have sinus problems- I found out I have no allergies- so I think it is related to axiety, I worry constantly about everything; I get so nervous I get light headed sometimes.

Avatar n tn hi friends 2day is my 14th day after egg retrievel ,so im very eager to do home pregnancy test,,so friends plzzz tell me weder i can test 2morrow morning ,,r i have 2 wait for some more days
Avatar f tn From what you have written, it does sound like you could have depression, but it could also be being a teenager with all the pressures on you. There is a test you can do online which asks you questions. Answer them truthfully and it will tell you whether you might have depression. I don't know how you are going to manage without some type of professional help. OK, don't see a doctor, as this worries you. Does your school have a counsellor, or can they refer you to one?
Avatar m tn At 10 weeks I went to the dr and had another HIV antibody test done along with several other blood tests for various viruses and blood count. All tests were negative and there were no abnormalities in my blood count. I tried to take reassurance in these results but I am still having a lot of headaches, a sore throat, and some diarrhea. On top of this my wife has developed a sore throat and now my 4 year old daughter has a presistent cough.
370801 tn?1264408618 I hope that is whats wrong here, because this kind of depression becomes intolerable at times. Also, I took another blood test to determine the absorbsion level for my b12. I'm not a vegan or vegetarian, but I don't eat a lot of meat. Its something like twice a week only. We will see what happens.
Avatar n tn We are trying to get pregnant, and today I am at least five to six days late for my period. I did a pregnancy test this morning that came up negative. How reliable is that result since I usually have such a normal cycle? I don't have any other symptoms besides frequent urination and butterflies in my stomach that could just be from the excitement of the whole situation.
Avatar f tn Not sure how having depression would keep u from a colonoscopy??? Since u r in the UK, u will want to look at the list of Drs from the Ann Conroy Trust. Here in the States, there are many Drs that do not know enuff about Chiari or have experience treating it,,,so those that stumble upon it consider it an incidental finding and feel that it is not the cause of ne symptoms....they just do not know.... So push for answers....
Avatar n tn are u a consultant? i did the test after 6 weeks from initial exposure. i plan to get another kit as i find it quite confidential to use. i read from another thread and from averts that if it shows negative its very accurate. at least it give me temporary peace of mind. still considering whether to go for futher lab test or not. (my earlier screen test shows clear negative band) thanks for any help.
3164165 tn?1345337594 I've just put in on the search for private thyroid testing as I'm from the uk and my doc is only doing the tsh test which I've heard is lousy, so I came across that website and it will cost me £124.00 for a home kit where I just ***** my finger and put blood in and then send of and get t3 and t4 and other thyroid stuff, I'm just wondering if I should go for this?
Avatar f tn Why not test to see if there is a definable cause, such as Grave's? This can be done with the TSI test. You should also test for the biologically active thyroid levels, to see if they are high. Those tests are Free T3 and Free T4 (not the same as Total T3 and T4). If it is Grave's, then the doctor can give you some short term relief by prescribing an antithyroid med to offset high levels of thyroid hormone.
Avatar n tn hi joely yeah here in uk it is a fingerprick test and u get ur results right away thats what the test is called insti
1716230 tn?1313585533 No doctor is permitted to offer any alternative - Levothyroxine is the only licenced medication here in the UK. It means that patients buy from online pharmacies or perhaps like me, have their medication posted from a pharmacy within Europe with a doctor's prescription. It is not illegal to buy it from overseas, but pharmacists here in the UK are not allowed to order it on a patient's behalf as no doctor can legally prescribe it.
Avatar f tn I have looked up borderline personality disorder and i don't think i fit that. I have found 1 personality test online and did it. It came out as not having bpd, where can i find the dsm-iv for it?
525545 tn?1293184794 We have been through many, just not anything like my health issues. By the way hubby's test yesterday went well, he has an esophageal spasms, He needs to go to our Dr. for a follow and see if there is any treatment for it. He realized that he said things were not true. He came home from work yesterday and when he saw me went into sobbing. I said why are you crying? He was truly afraid I would of committed suicide. And he had reason to worry. I kept thinking about my life.
Avatar m tn A few of your levels are off - but alas, the IGF-1 is known to pulse so it cannot even be used to diagnose (a stimulation test has to be used) so that would have to be tested over time to show a pattern. The TSH which is a pituitary test is normal - and if it was central aka pituitary hypothyroidism - it would be much lower usually. Your cortisol is low - but I don't know what time the test is taken and that makes a difference. ACTH should be taken as well.
Avatar m tn I did get tested only a week after with a 5 min fingerprick test - negative (backed up by a venous blood test - yet to be recieved)..I know that these test are inconclusive so early on etc...but I needed some peace of mind... So nearly 2 weeks since the encounter I am imagining the worse case - feeling glands everyday, not up but there...and everyone seems to have a cold at present and I am getting one too...all this just make me so sad... Any guidance/help you can give would be very helpful..

Avatar m tn Many other countries use other standards for diagnosing HIV. I believe UK bases it solely on the EIA/ELISA while Canada uses the ELISA and another test (not sure which one, PCR RNA?). I'm probably wrong about both of these countries but it's something like that. I suppose I'm just anxious. Anyway, from unreliable sources I've read on the internet, the HIV DNA PCR seems to have sensitivity and specificity close to that of the ELISA. In fact, it is regarded as an overly sensitive test.
Avatar n tn I've found a uk based online chemist that sells nature thyroid, they had armour but only in 1grain tablets, so I went with nature as they had the different denominations that i'll probably need to start with. I've jumped the gun and ordered some (they didn't ask for a script?? i was sure you needed a prescription for this here?), I've got a blood test next week, and I'm going to talk with my GP about my plans.
Avatar n tn according to the doctors my blood pressure is normanl and so is my blood test. i have anxity problem and get alot of panic attack, have no family history of illness, so dont know what to expect. im just really worrid if someone can help me or even make me feel reassured.
