Eating fiber can soften the stool, and irritate the hemorrhoids less. Treating the hemorrhoids can help reduce the amount of blood on the toilet paper. These questions can be discussed with your personal physician.

Avatar m tn The endoscope that proved I am infected with gastritis was 20 days a go, and yes I am still suffering from this disease and the Librax and the Motilium are for this desease and I use it now. I asked her if it is necessary to go for a stomach scan and she said I’ll be alright after taking the medication.

Avoid heavy exercises within 4 hours of a heavy meal. Raise the head end of the bed by pillows to 30 degrees. When I was on Omeprazole, I was experiencing reflux a few times a day. But Famotidine and a very, small lunch helped reduce that to mild reflux once after dinner daily. I continued taking Famotidine for 2mths until my scheduled Gastroscopy which was performed 2 days ago. I've just started on Pariet (Rabeprazol Sodium 20mg), once daily.
Avatar n tn I am a pretty healthy 30 year-old, I don't smoke, I eat well, and I hardly drink. For the past couple of months I have felt fine all day and when it's time for bed, I cough my head off. I had an upper respiratory infection, but I got antibiotics and the mucus is gone, but I can't get rid of this cough. Does anyone have any idea what this could be??
Avatar n tn PLEASE do not take this or ANY supplement without first consulting your PCP (Primary Care Physician) and I would include my Pharmacist. I am not an expert and this information may not be complete and is never a substitute for talking and consulting with your physician.
Avatar f tn I hurt my knee last weekend playing ball and have been on ketoprofene since sunday, only took a painkiller once a couple of days ago. Avatar f tn I know I was told about Vagus Nerve 10 years ago for other referred ear pains and that was in the summary I took to the ENT. What kind of doctor would I need to see? What kind of testing?
Avatar n tn Nothing works, have tried omeprazole, famotidine, reglan, antacids, ranitidine, and others. My lower throat feels like it cramps and I can't breathe, then the blood and oxygen rushing to deal with that makes my heart start pounding. I am wondering: is there anything I can suggest to my doctors to look at next, or another drug I can try since the only thing that gives me relief is sublingual nitroglycerin and I go through 100 of those a month ? Thanks for ANY suggestions, I am desperate.
Avatar f tn anyway, since then, i will wake up in the mornings and i am starving. i am so hungry really all the time. it gets to the point of nausea and crankiness. i crave real food (ex roast and potatoes). i doesn't matter if i ate a huge dinner the night before like right before i go to bed. i have been tested for diabetes and they have come back ok. i have also been diagnosed with really low testosterone level(i am a 35 yr old woman). i have gained weight too.

Avatar f tn Hi All and Happy Holidays. I hope all are enjoying family or a little peace and quiet and a nice nap! My question is about acid controlling drugs (Prilosec), etc., and digestive enzymes while taking Harvoni. My doctor told me that I couldn't take any drugs to control acid. Really, it's the only thing I can find which is contraindicated. I have an ulcer and it can be a bit painful at times. Well, really painful at times. I'm wondering if any of you have faced a similar situation.

Avatar m tn Hi everyone i was diagnosed with GERD about 2 years ago and have tried all different types of meds none of which seem to help my symptoms lately i have been experiencing a dull neck and chest pain on my left side and also shortness of breath and some lightheaded ness i've had an ekg done and my reg doc says my heart checks out fine and that the chest pain is prolly just from the gerd. He gave me no explanation about the neck pain.
Avatar f tn I take 150mg zantac and its the only thing that works for me. I have heartburn and gerd. Had it before I got pregnant. Got worse when I got pregnant. So I have to take 2 a day. One in the morning and one at night. Try not to eat and then lay down. Wait about two hours after eating to lay down. I hope this helps.
Avatar m tn With regard to the Omeprazole, I was taking 20 mg twice a day when I read on another forum that the Omeprazole interferes with Sovaldi and Olysio in that they need the acid to work best. I asked my doctor about this and he said it's true the drugs do need the acid and advised me to only take 20 mg once a day and to take it 12 hours before the S/O. Not sure if this relates to Harvoni though.
Avatar n tn I have been on Gaviscon (short term relief), Ranitidine (didnt help much)Omeprazole (made discomfort worse), Nexium (only had it a week and couldnt stand the discomfort in stomach). Am now eating bland diet - small meals - mostly semi-solid and lots of herb tea. I have been trying to find connection between symptoms and also came up with vagus nerve. Will keep a look out to see how you are all getting on - I am a pale reflection of self prior to May and want to get my life back!
Avatar n tn As I understand it stress may not necessarily help with acid reflux but the causes are usually physical in nature (I'm a Registered Mental health nurse and Counsellor and have never been able to cure or relieve stomach problems through stress reduction or psychotherapeutic techniques). However, this is not to say that some stress management and / or counselling may not help with regards other life issues.
Avatar n tn I am a 27 year old Canadian woman who has been living and working in Japan for the last 2 1/2 years. For the last year and a half I've been having a lot of problems with gastritis and reflux and I can't seem to get rid of them. I first noticed the symptoms last year when I felt a terrible burning in my stomach and had a lot of belching and heartburn after I ate. I had an upper GI X-ray done and there wasn't anything wrong except for excess acid production.
Avatar n tn Over-the-counter proton pump inhibitors include lansoprazole (Prevacid 24 HR) and omeprazole (Prilosec OTC). Contact your doctor if you need to take these medications two or more times a week or your symptoms are not relieved.
