I bought her omeprazole and gave her amoxicilline, that worked. She felt fine, but few weeks later she had urinary infection symptoms again. The doctor gave her antibiotics again, that helped her.

I am now on week six so this has dramatically changed my social life and I am now on 20mg of omeprazole. For the first month it started ok. I cut Alcohol, spicy food, all fizzy drinks, orange juice. Now I'm faced with crippling stomach pain, the belching is back and as worse as when I used to drink.

The doctor doeant know what caused the gastritis (not taking pills /alcohol). I have a few questions: Does the gastritis itself cause bloating, or high levels of acid which cause gastritis(Im trying to understand if what caused the gastritis is still there since I dont know what that is). It can also be stress and lack of proper sleep. If it does not then you will have to consult a doctor to run tests to rule out thyroid problems, ear problems, pinched cervical spinal nerves, epilepsies, heart problems, etc.

After I finished my meds i went to a party and drank a lot of alchohol on a saturday night, monday came along and my stomach was still feeling fine, so i went to another party and drank alcohol. By wednesday morning my stomach was feeling really bad It was empty and i vomited green liquid. My stool suddenly changed light brown and my stomach hurts everytime i moved.
Avatar n tn A high GGT can be an indicator of alcohol consumption but I would pay more attention to AST and ALT. In any case cutting out alcohol is the healthiest decision if you are concerned. Take Care!
Avatar m tn I spoke with my doctor and said stop alcohol and tylenol tested week later and alt went up to 97. Tested another week later and alt jumped to 170. I am about 40 lbs over weight, I also take omeprazole 2xa day. I quit the omeprazole a week ago and am going to retest tom. Can the omeprazole have caused this? Also if they dont go go down I have til nov 20 or I lose the job, any info on what I can do in the next 2 weeks to lower them?
Avatar m tn If it has been 2-4 weeks since starting the Omeprazole and you have taken it AS PRESCRIBED and have done LIFESTYLE MODIFICATIONS, then you need to reconsult your physician. You probably should consult a GI Specialist and have an Endoscopy done to make sure nothing else is going on. Sounds like GERD based on your complaints with your stomach at night.

Avatar m tn s and that I still had some inflamation still evident and was advised to continue with my omeprazole and not to over stuff my self so that the inflamation can heal entirely. I started taking probiotics last Wednesday and will continue. I have a question with the brushing, why is this done? My doctor also indicated I had slight reflex so to stay away from spicy foods.
Avatar n tn I have been taking omeprazole for 4 years and it has worked great for my acid reflux problem. In March of 2013, very quickly I developed severe itchy skin. Here it is January 2014 and I am pretty sure I have one of the possible side affects of taking omeprazole, severe itchy skin. Twice in the last month I stopped taking it for a few days and believe I even had a withdrawal side affect. This was when I was just falling to sleep it felt like I could not breath.

Avatar n tn If cardiac causes are ruled out then chest pain with dizziness can be due to gastric reflux. Raise head end of bed. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food. Walking around also helps clear gas. I would strongly recommend you to see a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system) if these tips help you.
Avatar f tn I would strongly recommend you see a physician about this. Another possibility is costochondritis (inflammation of the joint between rib and sternum. All the enumerated possibilities cause pain on and off. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do let me know if there is any thing else you want to know and please keep me posted. Avatar m tn s patients usually have low or no acid which makes me concerned about taking this. And I read about ensuring you space out when you take omeprazole. I also have low ferritin and was taking iron, which I saw online is contradicted. Does anyone have experience with taking this?
Avatar n tn Coupled with missing of breakfast, this could have caused serious acidity with reflux. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food. Pregnancy is unlikely if you have been taking pills regularly. If you missed pills in between, then take a pregnancy test and see. Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with GERD about a year ago and have been on 20mg Omeprazole twice per day every since. I had a barium swallow in April 2015 when I had the same feelings, and nothing was found except GERD. It almost feels like its radiating to my upper back. I'm thinking Esophagitis? Unsure if there are any other remedies for this or if Omeprazole has stopped working. The discomfort , of course, also has my anxiety in over-drive most of the day, which I'm sure does not help.

851041 tn?1240695424 Also if you consume alcohol,munch some light snacks along with it and as far as possible try abstaining from alcohol or taking very less amounts of it.You can also take some OTC antacid like Mylanta, zantac(ranitidine)or prilosec(omeprazole).These will help.Also keep your fluid electrolyte balance optimum by drinking lots of fluids. If the symptoms persist then pls get it evaluated from a physician and get gall bladder/liver disease ruled out. Hope it helps.
