skin

Avatar f tn It seems odd that olive oil and Vit E on the skin could make an allergic reaction that would affect your heart. Did the doc give you a treatment for the Klebsella bacteria and did you mention those 2 allergies?
Avatar f tn I use coconut oil. It keeps my skin super soft.
Avatar n tn Just go over quick with your hands and natural soap. Then I use a 50/50 mixture of coconut oil and baby oil on my skin. Coconut oil is very good for the skin, you can google that, but it becomes solid at room temperature. Some use olive oil too. I am a man however.....
Avatar n tn Also, my lips always felt on fire. I tried a month with no lip products (except for olive oil or vitamin e oil if I couldn't take the burning any longer). I decided to go to an allergist. He said i was allergic to dust mites, and had mild reactions to nickel, cobalt, some latex products and hydro-cortizone creams. He did a patch test with my shampoo, toothpaste, foundation, lip gloss and chapsticks, but I didn't appear to have a reaction (on my back anyway).
475300 tn?1312426726 Solidified coconut oil makes the most wonderful pie crusts---and I use whole wheat flour as well. yum!
209987 tn?1451939065 It is already diluted in olive oil, but I find I have to dilute it further as it is very strong. I do not know what the proper dosage is. The bottle suggests several drops. My son-in-law took a very heavy dosage and it did him no harm.
1160986 tn?1486823325 My little one looks like she has dry flaking skin on her forehead, eyebrows and eyelids. I saw the pediatrician for routine check up and asked him. He said to use Aveeno baby on the dry spots. I tried it but it didn't help. I read online you can get cradle cap there (her head is fine) so wondered what to use. I tried diluted baby shampoo on the area and rinsing well for the past few days. It seems a bit better but still there. Has anyone seen this and have any suggestions??
Avatar f tn If it tends towards dry, use only oil-based soaps or cleansers, like olive-oil based or coconut-oil based products. I'm sure other ladies on here will write also.
535822 tn?1443980380 Pork fat will do this, but not coconut oil in its natural form. How are you with soy in your skin products? I've been using Earth Science Almond-Aloe Fragrance Free and haven't had any reactions to it. INNI ingredients list does say there is some soy in it. If you decide to try it, buy it at a place that will take the product back if it bothers you. Keep the receipt just in case and you should be fine.
Avatar f tn I am a 22 year old girl. I am fair and have smooth skin but my skin is not clear. I tend to have pimples and boils on my face. The boils appear on my forehead and cheeks. They are not painful or itchy but simple swellings and they come in clusters. Few days back i massaged my face with olive oil but i got rashes on my face> how do i treat it. My otherwise health is good but overweight. What do i do to clear my skin because these problems recur regularly. Mine is a normal skin.
Avatar n tn I'm not a doctor but bars of soaps like dove are usally quite drying, i would suggest trying glycerin soap or putting extra virgin olive oil in you bath(oil bath) you will leave the bath having fully moisturised skin, for you hair buy glycerin not sure which country your in but you can purchase this from the pharmacy or chemist if you have like a empty bottle or container (like 250ml ) empty half the glyrcerin into the bottle and match the same quantity with water may so somewhere around 40% gly
428506 tn?1296560999 But they do have to have alcohol in them, since that's the extractive agent, and they often have oil added -- usually olive oil -- in many cases, which doesn't detract from the oil's purity but allows it to stay on the body and provides a medium for the essential oil. Different oils have different stabilities.
1608004 tn?1390774590 All you need to do is go to your local pet store and buy a special shampoo for cats for dandruff, itchiness, and dry skin. And, you can buy some salmon oil or omega 3 oil for cats and give her a half teaspoon a day in her food. This should really help a lot. I have done it myself and my cat looks great!
Avatar f tn cols, very cold, hot, very hot (or me it is very very hot water) Moisture your skin daily with any natural oil (coconut oil, argan oil, olive oil...
Avatar f tn Got hyperpigmentation on neck and jawline and got hypothyroidism hashimotos. Pigments are related to thyroid issues. On levothyroxine. Gluten free diet. Using coconut oil and olive oil which helped ease dryness. Quit all products containing harmful chemicals. Use mineral based sunscreens. Cosmetic with no parabens. Chemical peeling helped reduced the pigmentation. Quite satisfied. Superficial chemical peels which requires 6 sessions. I only took a few and do not want to proceed.
4877493 tn?1391634776 You can try massaging your face with oils like olive and grape seed oil for 5-10 minutes which will help to shrink open pores .Protect your skin from harmful rays of sun and use sun-scream daily with SPF 30 or more. For expert opinion you are suggested to see a dermatologist. Keep me posted. Best luck and regards!
Avatar f tn You would be surprised at how far away from the vaginal area the itchiness can spread. For the hair and scalp, I recommend oil. Olive isn't that great, but there are many others you could try. Lard has also been seen to make improvements. My cousin swears by using only Sunlight dish soap to wash her hair, with a vinegar rinse. Apple cider vinegar is the best. Your hair and scalp will love you for it. Odd I know, but these things do work just as good, if not better, than salon type remedies.
Avatar f tn I have a 4 week old daughter and her skin was starting to get dry so my midwife suggested bathing her in olive oil and no other products and a bit of breast milk if you have some spare to express. I dont have spare milk just bathed my daughter in warm water and olive oil after 2 days her skin was great so ive kept doing it. Good luck.
Avatar f tn It is advised to keep the skin clean and moist at all times. You could use a cold cream commercially available in the market or body oil like olive oil over the dry areas. Whenever you skin feels dry clean it with a mild cream based soap or cleansing milk and apply fresh cream/ oil. Rub your skin with a light cream/ oil before applying make-up. Avoid using excessive make up or toners. Clean all make up with cleansing milk. Try taking plenty of water even when you are not thirsty.
551162 tn?1214976392 Choose only reputed brands when using skin care products for your baby. An oil massage which includes the face before bath will help in moisturizing the face. Also baby creama are available which can be applied once or twicw a day to the dry areas. Children' skin contains a substance that makes it soft and supple, so there is no need to apply oil/vaseline as this may lead to other problems. If it persists or worsens then you may need to get it checked further.
Avatar m tn After seeing derm who said I had small pathces of ezema (serb D) I then tried few more products but everything still reacted (jojoba oil, shea butter, la roche posay, Avene, Cetaphil, baby products etc etc). Some times reactions were not face reddening but breakouts of larger pores and skin looking older and more grainy. I now think my problem is my skin barrier is so damaged that any ingredient I put on it reacts thus prohibiting the skin repairing.
544468 tn?1225200966 And also Avene Moisturiser for very dry skin (I also apply this throughout the day if needed). At night I apply DHC Virgin Olive Oil Moisturiser after cleansing with DHC Cleansing Oil. I stay away from things I am allergic to; cats, rabbits, nuts, etc. NOTHING will get rid of this dry skin. In the past 7 years I have not had one single day of hydrated, comfortable skin. I have spent hundereds of pounds on care for my skin and nothing will help it at all.
Avatar f tn I have used on seperate occasions Oilatum, Vaseline, Aqueoues, Olive Oil and recently even antihestimene cream. Nothing seems to work. Would be grateful for any advice I take the following medication: FLIXOTIDE 125 mg - Emphesema VENTOLIN 100 mg - Emphesema CO-DYDRAMOL 10/500mg - Migrane GABAPENTINE 300mg - Nuropathecic Pain RAMIPRIL 5mg - High Blood Pressure LANSOPRAZOLE 30mg - Gastro reflux PREMARINE 0.
393685 tn?1425816122 I read some time ago (quite a few years infact) about olive oil on dry skin..and I would rub it in after each shower...while still wet. Wow..and had forgotten about it, I will make a point of adding that to my shower stall again for my old alligator skin . Thanks for that!
Avatar n tn So I'm very confused as to why my skin is very oily yet very dry at the same time. I use cetaphil to wash, olay to moisturize, and sometimes even olive oil as a moisturizer (I heard it's a good natural product). Oh and one more question on the side: is it bad to be using a body moisturizer on your face? I usually use a facial moisturizer, but I have this body lotion that works fairly well, and I thought I should give it a chance on my face.
Avatar m tn I've tried Chapstick, Vaseline, aquaphor, diprobase, aloe Vera, vit e and glycerin, blistex, savlon, daktarin, hydrocortisone, salt water, vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, neosporin - and more that I cannot remember right now. It is in a highly visible area and badly affects my confidence/self esteem as I notice people staring (the whole lip area turns red when dry and looks pretty nasty, and without a full layer of skin turns dry pretty quickly).
Avatar n tn But I do want to use something that will make it go away for good and I can continue to go in the sun. I am not a white person, I have olive skin tone and these patches are lighter then my normal color. If anyone has any suggestions for me please let me know!!
Avatar f tn Thank you for your responses. I have been putting ozonated olive oil on this patch of skin along with an anti-fungal cream from the health food store. Been doing this 2 days now... watching it... I will check out the creams you both suggested and let you know. Thanks again.
770551 tn?1305582501 I have used the olive oil on my hair when I was younger. My hair is so thick, it took several washes to get it out. Then I would damage my hair again with the iron (the one you use for your clothes).LOL That was the thing in the 70's long straight hair. Mine was wavy. It was long and LOLOLOL.....you will roll on the floor when I tell you this. I would use at least 2 nibblets corn cans for the top of my hair and just wrap the rest around my head with the long bobby pins.
Avatar n tn I am very sensitive as well. I use Arbonne's skin care products and they are wonderful. They contain no chemical fragrances or dye. I think there may be parabens, however. I would imagine it is very difficult to find anything without parabens (in terms of moisturizers b/c it is a preservative). I am able to purchase these at wholesale cost, if you are interesed in learning more about the products, email me and we can chat!
