Avatar f tn Lotemax worked great, and I was able to take it once a day to keep redness, inflammation, and irritation at bay. But as soon as I'd stop taking it, it all started again. 6. This last month the Lotemax wasn't working just to take once a day, so I went back and found out that I had another eye infection. I was told to do Tobradex 4x/day for a week, then 3x the next and was also given doxycycline for the internal hordeolum in that eyelid.

Different oils have different stabilities.
Avatar n tn Tea tree oil is fairly potent. I would use a soap that is made of olive oil and tea tree oil. Also use a good moisturizer after shower. The itching should dissipate after you rebuild the skin. You might also try a tar soap. Some people can use anti histamines to control itching. Supposedly diet can control outbreaks better then anything. Most eczema is caused by the result of allergens or a leaky gut. Digestive disorders like croans or yeast buildup in your body.
Avatar m tn A few days ago my girlfriend moved house so she had to change her GP. The GP told her to apply Olive oil on her skin. But day by day the problem is getting serious. I have attached a photo of the condition of the skin. My question is how can my girlfriend reduce or get rid of the condition on her skin? Thank you very much for your help.

Avatar m tn I've tried Chapstick, Vaseline, aquaphor, diprobase, aloe Vera, vit e and glycerin, blistex, savlon, daktarin, hydrocortisone, salt water, vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, neosporin - and more that I cannot remember right now. It is in a highly visible area and badly affects my confidence/self esteem as I notice people staring (the whole lip area turns red when dry and looks pretty nasty, and without a full layer of skin turns dry pretty quickly).
Avatar n tn etc might be accurate. Probably best to use a solution of warm water and olive oil to help the skin back to normal and then use either a highly sensitive body wash or plain water and non-biological washing powders and reduce the use of fabric conditioners and dryer towels and see how you get on. Also, reduce intake of caffeine, that can have an adverse affect as most itchiness is caused by the nervous system; and caffeine can be a trigger..
Avatar n tn Hi For several months I have been getting this weird sensation that my skin is crawling. This happens just behind my right shoulder blade in exactly the same place every time. It generally happens for no reason that I can fathom. It is a sort of itching sensation and then a sensation that there is something crawling under my skin. When I rub it with my fingers it disappears for a while but inevitably it returns within a few minutes. There is no pain involved.
Avatar n tn unfortunately, about a week after i stopped internal cleansing herbs (tho was still continuing neem/castor/olive oil massage) all of a sudden my chin broke out with numerous small inflamed pimples which heal very slowly and burn like fire...
1145811 tn?1293485957 If you have dry scalp and hair, you can use coconut or olive oil for deep oil treatments and leave in conditioner. If you tend towards oily hair, skip this step. There is a gentler and mostly natural hair gel made by Giovanni that is sold at supplement stores if you need a hair fixative. They have a couple of other hair fixatives in their line at the supplement stores. It is definitely less irritating to the senses and the skin both. This is most of my tips.
Avatar n tn Try Burt's Bees Hand salve. It has almond oil, lavender, rosemary, olive oil, and bees wax. I have the same problem and the hand salve got rid of it in a couple days. Smells good too. No burning. Best thing i ever tried! K.S.
Avatar f tn l More than just a mild menthol aroma, it nearly ran my entire family out of the house! Have any of you ladies use true Tea Tree Oil for skin, vaginal, oral or other uses, and if so, how in the world do you deal with the god awful stench of this powerful stuff? Just curious. Do you use it outside and then throw q-tips away in the trash, or what? Please help me. I diluted a single drop of this substance in olive oile in a small dish, and even the dishwasher smelled like it! No kidding!. Sigh.
Avatar m tn I posted this info before, but it was a reply to someone else's similar post... I am a 23 year old healthy male. I recently had a full physical and the results were that I am in above average health. I have no diseases, do not use drugs, but drink on occasion. Anyways, just started noticing these strange symptoms, within the past few weeks. Nothing "brought it on" so to speak that I can tell of.
Avatar n tn I've tried several different bodywashes, dish soap, olive oil, milk.. I mean you name it and I've tried it.. My whole family thinks I'm just imagining this problem.. And I don't know if its due to that product I mentioned or mold or whatever it is.. But this is very miserable, I hate feeling sticky.. Especially all over my body... I guess I'm gonna try to see a dermatologist asap.. But if anyone has any suggestions that might help, I'd appreciate it..
Avatar n tn Its a hard pea-sized bump under my skin, and can be pushed around a bit. I was thinking it was a cyst, but is it normal for it to develop within 8 hours? I normally have a bit of vaginal discharge, but it seems to have increased the past few days. Any ideas for what it might be? I don't think it is an STD because i havent seen my boyfriend since the summer... so haven't had sex since then ( he has been my only partner).
Avatar f tn All over the bearded part of my face, what appeared to be sacs of hardened oil under the surface of the skin had been forming nodules. These didn’t get infected, each just grew larger. Over the years I’ve seen dermatologists who said, because of my otherwise great health, “you’re just a middle aged adolescent,” blaming it on high testosterone, etc. The apparent acne problem continued and worsened.
Avatar n tn My wife bought me an olive oil salt scrub that exfoliates as well as leaving a wonderful, soft film of Olive oil on my skin that soaks in within an hour or so... It is unbelievable... I think it is now discontinued as she found it at TJ Maxx in NYC while we're on vacation their this week. It is Somerset Toiletry Olive Oil Salt Scrub. I took a hot bath and applied and scrubbed in with my hands over my entire body including my scalp and face.
Avatar n tn I don't have money to spend on beauty products, nor on many supplements. So my routine is so basic it's ridiculous. I use simply coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil (organic). I lather it all over my arms, legs and face, and off I go for a run. By the time I've finished, it's absorbed and my skin is fairly dewy with sweat and moisture. I don't shower afterward either, because I want to keep my skin looking that way.
Avatar n tn Blend fresh lemon juice with either bath oil, olive oil or almond oil. Since lemon can be very acidic, it can chafe the skin and hence is best to use a small quantity as an application. Mix the juice and oil together and apply it on the inner thighs. The application can be washed off after an hour. Although there is no particular kind of food or diet that can cause the lightening of the skin, having a balanced diet is beneficial for the development of healthy skin.

Avatar m tn I did the thyroid tests and was a bit low but thyroid meds didn't stop the itch nor did primrose oil or omega oils, anithistimines, or any nutrition type rememdies. It wasn't dry skin either as I tried loads of different lotions and cremes, not sun exposure or any other thing I could find on the net that seemed to help other people. My doctor is a woman but she'd never encountered this in her practice and recommended a dermatologist. He took biopsies and found nothing.
Avatar m tn Three days ago I started feeling like whatever this was is now in my skin (I'm certain of it), It's under the skin on my face, my scalp, my back, my toes, and my feet. I can feel it crawling in and out of my anus at times also. Went to the dermatoligist today and of couse he says it's my imagination, some people get it. He's subscribed me some DEXEPIN for depression. :( Funny thing is I'm not depressed, my life was quite good until this bug showed up.

Avatar m tn The embedded hair causes a localized inflammation (sometimes painful) response in the skin. Symptoms include rash, itching skin, hair which remains in spite of shaving, and infection and pus collecting under skin. Treatments for ingrown hairs include putting a warm washcloth over the ingrown hair and shaving in a different direction. Exfoliating with facial scrubs, sponges, towels, or creams containing acids can help. You can take Ibuprofen or other NSAIDs for the pain.
